If you want to run a game why not sign up to run it. Also if you check the schedule there you'll see we have two D&D games so far.

well are either games going to be 2nd ed?

rpb3000 - March 9, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
I wanna learn how to play BESM. So if anybody wants to play who are also a bunch of n00bs at it :-P Actually, I've wanted to learn to play either for a while now.

Wyatt - March 9, 2006 05:46 PM (GMT)
BESM is actually a module for the Guardians of Order Tri-Stat system or (more recently) Wizards of the Coast's d20 system (D&D 3rd ed.). I have an actual copy of BESM 2nd edition (never played) and I have an electronic version of the BESM d20 "Reference Document" that you can get free from the Gaurdians of Order website.

Itaichi: Why would you actually want to play 2nd ed.? It's even more screwed up than 3rd.

Itaichi - March 9, 2006 10:18 PM (GMT)
but theirs a players handbook...i cant believe you say that about 2nd ed...its so easy to play and i enjoy it more then 3rd but ill try to find the handbook at one of the stores down here in greenville or one of the nearby towns

Ruhtra - March 9, 2006 10:40 PM (GMT)
I'll play BESM

but I have the rulebooks for 3rd edition DnD

(I have dice to, and a 100 sided die)

Itaichi - March 10, 2006 01:49 AM (GMT)
i have alot of 2nd ed stuff...alright next week ill go out looking for some of it and then do my research...already have a story with besm that i made a long way back when i was gonna get it but end up not...but if i do ill see if can put it up on the shcdule

Chrno - March 15, 2006 04:16 AM (GMT)
What level would you start everyone off as out of curiosity?

If you are going with third edition I have a PHP and the Oriental Adventures handbook that I can bring. ^_^

Gah..I need to find my dice though! O_o

The History Follower - March 15, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
For the games I'm running, I have one beginers game where you'll start off at level one and I'll be teaching you how to play and then the other one we'll be starting at lvl 3. Bring what ever books you want to bring cause I'm only bringing the basics. I'll have some dice, but bringing your own is still good.

LittlePetRiashe - March 17, 2006 09:05 PM (GMT)
Mmm D&D is good stuff. If it's cool I may just check it out. I've only ever played recently.

@ Riashe- :( Thus those long tuesdays you leave me afterschool.

Itaichi - March 18, 2006 04:03 PM (GMT)
doubt ill be able to run besm but i might be up to do some 2nd edition

ookami-san - March 23, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
Hey ill play i never played befor but i could try. Of course i have to ask Kotoko if she wants to play other wise she might kill me.

Chrno - March 24, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
If we play...when and where will this be?

And, I honestly think we should play 3rd edition...it's easier for new people to learn than 2nd. ^_^

Kuroshi - March 24, 2006 05:33 PM (GMT)
Would be use BESM Tri-Stat, which I think is simpler, or the d20?

Chrno - March 25, 2006 03:47 AM (GMT)
I think d20 is easier...you roll one die...anyone can learn! ^_^

Kuroshi - March 25, 2006 03:52 PM (GMT)
A d20, tons of classes, and 6 stats....
vs
2d6, completely customizable characters without class-system limitations, and 3 stats..

The History Follower - March 25, 2006 07:32 PM (GMT)
We have two D20 games going on. If you want to play more or a Tri-stat game go here and fill out the form. http://s9.invisionfree.com/Neo_Battle_Peas...p?showtopic=463

Chrno - March 27, 2006 06:06 AM (GMT)
Class system limitations are there for a reason though..it keeps a character from being ridiculously (and unrealistically) powerful at lower levels.

Good lord did I just use the term unrealistic to describe D&D? O_o

Lilith's Dark Shadow - November 21, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
tri-stat and d20 both suck.

it really depends on which one has a type of 'suck' more to your liking.

The History Follower - November 22, 2006 06:02 PM (GMT)
So why do you say they suck Lilith?

Lilith's Dark Shadow - November 22, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
do you want the entire essay or just things in particular?

The History Follower - November 24, 2006 11:12 PM (GMT)
Just things in particular.

Lothlin - November 24, 2006 11:42 PM (GMT)
Ahhh, this is why I prefer white wolf games (especially exalted.) You can do whatever the hell you want with your character, and at least in the case of Exalted, you're encouraged to be overpowered! No silly systems that restrict people from being able to pick up a weapon and bludgeon someone over the head with it if they don't have the proficiencies.

Bwahah.
