I've actually just started borrowing the manga (in Japanese) from a friend, and am reading my way through it. I saw a couple episodes of the anime, but missed the very beginning, so it's nice to find out what I missed.
And yes, I have to agree so far, it does indeed rock.

I actually picked up volume one of Gantz on a whim. It was on sale at Suncoast for about $12. I didn't know much about it except that I had heard that it had a bit of the old ultra-violence. This tends to worry me because those types of shows tend to have a lot of violence but not much else. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I got a really interesting story along with some great action. I ended up watching all the anime, and I'm hoping someone (like Dark Horse) licenses the manga (cause I can't read Japanese).

Never got into it.
Watched the first two episodes at Ikasu 05, and was like, "Ehhh" D:

You can read the Manga at stoptazmo.com or you can read it on mangaviewer.com without being a member

Thanks for the info, DCarp112. That mangaviewer site is rather comprehensive. I wouldn't have thought that there would be fansubs of so many manga titles. From my initial check they look fairly well done too. It's easier to read a book compared to looking at a computer screen, but if I want to read Gantz, I guess I don't have a lot of options. Is the Gantz manga still going in Japan or has it already ended?

Its still going on its gotten really good and the plot is thickening I dont know how far you are so i wont spoil anything

DCarp112,
I haven't had a chance to start reading the manga yet. However, I have watched all of the anime. I understand that the last anime story arc isn't part of the canon. I enjoyed the anime a lot, and I hear that the manga is even better which is why I want to get started on it.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of spoilers. They make me twitch. I still remember when my friend mentioned a certain Sephiroth/Aeris interaction in FF7. I wasn't too far behind him in the game, but still, how can you just up and tell someone something like that? That's evil! Evil I say! Bah!

Its the only anime ive watched that accurately depicts a teens thought process.

I'm pretty much up to date on it and still follow it, but I don't find it particularly good. There's new plot elements being developed now, after being introduced many, many chapters ago. But the first 200 chapters are pretty much the same. Tiny bit of dialogue, lots of violence, people die, they come back to life, they die again.
