I can't navigate elfwood. The place is very confusing. One reason why I don't have any art on there.

actually, elfwood is more organized than deviant. the reason most people go to deviant is because its less strict. Elfwood is very strict on their rules, so its hard to get a gallery.

I haven't maintained it very well... My gallery is pseudo-abandoned.

and I have to disagree with whoever said elfwood is more organized.. as of late Elfwood has been extremely disorganized. They have stricter rules, but it's confusing to the members that they keep changing them and expecting everyone to read this big long (and creativly stifling) list.. by the time your done with it (for the 3rd or 4th time you've been through the changes.. which are CONSTANT) your just ready to abandon your gallery... Like I did for awhile.. Especially since some of the rules don't even make any sense or serve any purpose. Plus if the site shutsdown at a time where you either just got your ticket submitted or while your ticket is going through the queue you lose everything, and that's happened to me twice.. My fan quarter has work in it that's nearly 5 years old now, and I can't update it because they are enforcing a rule that I can't do any updates (even deletions which is beyond stupid) until I update my fantasy gallery first with more work because there are "more Fan Quarter pieces up then Fantasy gallery pieces". oops. Disorganized loop hole!

PLUS, They insist on seperating book illustration inspired pieces from Fan Art which is mental. I tried to turn in a Fan Art of Raistlin and Crysania to Fan Quarter and they told me to resubmit to my Fantasy Gallery.. and I'm like.. uhmm... NO.. there not my characters... I refuse to give anyone that misimpression and I HATE that they do that... When I draw fan art it's a tribute to the creators.. I don't WANT anyone to think I came up with the illustration simply being "inspired" by the books. No, I put it fan quarter cause it was fan art plain and simple. When there are ALREADY illustrations provided by Larry Elmore and good desc. of the characters that doesn't require much creative or original thought in costume design, it is no longer "original" inspiration.. It's fan art/tribute and belongs in Fan Quarter.

The rule doesn't work either because theres alot of grey areas for what constitutes as a book illustration with so many fantasy books as of late also being adapted into movie conterparts. They'll put my Harry Potter illustrations in Fan Quarter (since there are also movies) even if the drawing is directly inspired from a part of the book that never occured in the movie releases, but .. yeah.. That's just not right.. more loop holes in the rule system.. and loop holes in the rule system means disorganized and misleading galleries that is the fault of the staff more then the members....

and one top of it all, one time they accused me of copying/tracing and sent back an El Derado pic submissoin for Fan Quarter, (This Pic which I refused to resubmit after they admitted they made a mistake..btw there human and make mistakes but if you a member makes a mistake in there ever changing rule system they mark it on your "record" there for consideration of deletion of your gallery if you make to many, and for branding as a member not up for consideration for moderator duties) that just really set me off.. it was the fianl straw with there carelessness and double sided standards for me) so I complained to the administrator and provided pictures of my work and the movies work and that mine was clearly anime depictions of the characters and NOT tracings or copies of the original Dreamworks style, and was never a copy from any particular still frame in the movie either. The mods there just DON'T know what there doing. (The great majority of them) Nothing makes me angrier then being accused of plagerism ( I pride myself in coming up with originalality in my art) and they need to investigate more time and effort into it if they suspect it, because that is a serious offense and therefore a very serious accusation that is damaging to the artists image/character. It's not something they should just assume or guess. It's very inconsiderate to do so. :angry:
