Title: Looking for a Ride

kalajessta - February 8, 2006 07:30 PM (GMT)
I'm looking for a ride to AP. I'm trying to save as much money as I can for April, since my con budget is rather tight. If anyone lives in the Cleveland/Akron area, or is passing through Cleveland, please let me know. I am willing to pay my portion of gas money. I will be actually packing light for this convention as well.

Why don't you try seeing what the greyhound schedule is like? It can take you right into columbus and from there the cota buses can take you to the hotel, or at least I saw a cota bus near them.

The thing is, from the greyhound station I might have to take a taxi. It's about a 20 mile ride away from the greyhound station, which will be a costly taxi fare.

The Greyhound station is just one block from the big station on High St. for Cota. The number 2 goes to the hotel (not all the time, you have to make sure you get the right #2, but that's not difficult to sort out). If you do it friday evening, you might have to take an express bus instead of a number 2. At some point we'll post a complete listing of bus-type stuff.

It is fully possible to get from downtown to Crosswoods by Cota though. The hotel even has its own stop!

Thanks. The bus does help alot, but I'm not from the Columbus area. I'm even ify about getting on buses I don't know the schedual for even here in Cleveland. I accidently took the wrong bus home twice, thus ended me up in two cities away. But the result of it forced me to get a cell phone.

Eh, I'm from Cleveland, but I haveta head down Thursday for pre-con needs (being on staff and all). If you wouldn't mind being down there an extra day early, we could prolly find somewhere for you to crash...

Hm, I have to see. What time Thurs are you leaving? I have Tues and Thurs classes and I'm already missing most of my classes two weeks after AP for Matsuri.

Eh, good question. Havn't really thought about it too much yet ^_^;; I have classes Thurs, but I was planning on taking off at least the afternoon ones. Although my program may not have classes, and instead be running an event at the Rock Hall, we don't know yet. Either way, I plan on being back at my place packing for the con by noon, and hopefully getting out of Cleveland by 3. I could prolly hold off 'till 5 at the latest.

What time are your classes?

kalajessta - February 9, 2006 12:45 AM (GMT)
Actually, 3 is a good time. I can 'skip' Japanese, since it's for a good cause. But I agree with ya, devently before rush hour of getting out of Cleveland.

rpb3000 - February 9, 2006 02:10 AM (GMT)
Yeah. One time I got held back on my way to Columbus and ended up leaving at rush hour. That wasn't fun. It took me like 45 mins to get out of town @_@

So just keep me updated on how stuff pans out, and I'll do likewise. ^_^

kalajessta - February 9, 2006 02:11 AM (GMT)
Awsome. Not a problem and I appreciate it. I'm sure I'll be able to 'skip' Japanese that day. It's the week back after Spring Break so I don't think we'll have any tests to have to worry about.
