Title: Cosplay Contest
AndraiaTower - January 23, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
I've been searching for the thread that holds the cosplay contest to sign up, where do I go?
EnishiYukishirolover - January 24, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
I don't think they have one yet.
Misato_Katsuragi - January 29, 2006 03:05 AM (GMT)
Pretty sure, -now correct me if I'm wrong, Mike- that you sign up at the actual convention, honey.
That's how it's always been.
AndraiaTower - January 29, 2006 04:11 AM (GMT)
Is it the same for the Masquerade?
Kaisermikeb - January 29, 2006 04:20 AM (GMT)
They are one in the same at our con, and you'll sign up at-con.
AndraiaTower - January 30, 2006 08:03 AM (GMT)
What kind of curse words can be used in a skit? Like can we used d-amn and s-hit?
Edit: I'm writing a skit with the character Cid Highwind, known for he beeping profanity

You know, you don't have to censor what you write on this forum. If it's too much, I'll do it personally!
As for a skit, use your own judgements. Remember there will be children in the audience. One rule of thumb would be "does cartoon network allow it?" (which covers the damn, but not shit).
Another would be the natural conversation test, which is basically "is it obvious that you are using swear words, or do people accept them naturally as an accepted and predictable part of the sentance?"
I would advise against a skit that revolves around Cid swearing though, as it would probably be found inappropriate as well as that it would be kind of lame.
The final answer is this: If you do something on stage we don't like, it will hurt your scores.
kalajessta - January 30, 2006 02:42 PM (GMT)
Is there going to be a set cosplay decency at Punch? Ohayo tried to have one, and well, we've seen some pretty nasty and digusting cosplays that didn't follow the cosplay rules. I wish they would of kicked them out or at least tell them to put a tshirt on.
Kaisermikeb - January 30, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)
As with most of our rules, we say use common sense.
Actually... think of us as like, a malicious Karma. Push us and we snap back, but harder and with a knife!
So just be smart about it. Our lines a pretty loosely drawn, but cross then and you'll regret it!

That is as long as it is PG13 correct?
EnishiYukishirolover - January 31, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
Hey, I don't know if this would be off topic or not but.............

Oh, no Cid is just a character in the skit, the skit does not revovle around him. That would be boring.
