I feel like giving sincerer suggestion(s) than my usual.

Now there are quite a number of decent horror anime and Japanese films that don't involve overt sexual themes which I'd like to suggest to for the con. Let's see...

Devil Man (original series)
Devil Man OAV's (there are two)
Devilman Lady (which Mike so kindly belittled last con)
Devil Man Meets Mazinger (subbed in hilarious Engrish)

I own all of these subtitled, with the exception of Devilman Lady which I can simply borrow. I would like to suggest any of these and specifically request the Devilman OAV's as they're violent, quality classics.

I'd suggest one other but only have this one in the raw. Assuming anyone else would dare assist in nominating this, that one is:

Devilman the Live Action (rated 3.6 on IMDb and worth it purely for how bad it is.. and yes, a subbed version does exist)

And I realize my having these helps little. Assuming there's awesome interest however, I can look to getting these ripped and sent to someone (probably Mike B.) from across the world. (Although I hope to be in Columbus for con week, I doubt a late arrival will make setting any of them up feasible.)

So, any consideration on getting these played?

Kyousetsu Hyaku Monogatari - I think the official English title is "Hundred Stories"

Mermaid's Forest -- OVA and series -- is pretty scary.

Ayakashi -Classic Japanese Horror- This is a new series currently airing in Japan; character layout designs by Amano Yoshitaka! I think Bobby grabbed it off my drive last night. Or is that this morning?

Ayatsuri Sakon is scary. Anything with a puppet scares the willies out of me...

Just for the record, The Eye is a Chinese movie, and Old Boy is Korean. Maybe they're still worth showing, even though our focus is on Japan, but I haven't seen them, so I couldn't say.

Bobby and I translated three episodes of that show; personally, I'm trying to forget it.

I'll second Ghost Talker's Daydream and Ayatsuri Sakon. Both are great and few people have seen 'em. Hellsing, even though I love it, has been seen by most people.

's not really a "horror" anime, per-say, but it's really dark. Does that count?

Try for Basilisk. It's not liscensed and it's amazing.

Does "Blood: The Last Vampire" count?

Vampire Hunter D the first one isn't all that scary...(Has it) but the next one in it is sorta scarier...but not by much.

Old boy wasnt horror, but pedophilia is kinda scary....i quess
