Title: Music games at the con?
sakana_janai - January 11, 2006 05:01 PM (GMT)
I know this con is all for games, so I was wondering if there were going to be any music-like games there?
Some game that would be fun IMO:
-Taiko
-Donkey Konga (even though I suck at it)
-Guitar Hero
-Guitar Freaks
-Pop n Music
-Beatmania
-Keyboardmania
-Drummania
-and anything else I'm forgetting.
If anyone needs help with controllers and the like, let me know. I have some friends that probably have all of these lol.

I've been meaning to try some of those. Could be fun. Could also be fun to have some DDR mini-contests based on how well people can do with some of the more interesting options set.

Oh! I forgot that maracca one- Samba de somethingorother
Yah I'd love to try some of these games out- it would be fun to have import versions too! (again, if anyone doens't have these let me know!)

Uhh...does Gitaroo Man count? Kinda the only rhythm game I've played in a while. It seems pretty rare, so I wouldn't doubt there are many that haven't played.

Yeah, sure. Its musical! I'm sure we could track down a copy er something!

Track down? I have a copy. Mike has a copy. Find a couple multitaps and it's 4-player mayhem.

I have one too.
Giggity giggity.

I have a PS1 multitap, but I've been told it doesn't cooporate with the PS2. I've never had a chance to try it so I don't know.

I also have a PS1 multitap, $2 thing that is possibly being partially cannibalized to make a memcard reader for the pc, but if it would be useful, I can keep it intact for another quarter.
Also, Donkey Konga is a ridiculously fun game, played it a while back when Nintendo visited Kent State, but haven't had a chance to since. Hopefully that will make an appearance.

Samba de Amigo was the one you were thinking of.
Also, needs more ParaPara Paradise.
sakana_janai - January 16, 2006 12:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah Samba de Amigo! I had fun last time I played that!
I can get a multitap (or several if you need) from work so let me know. I don't think they would be too much, just be sure to let me know which PS2 they would be for.
Oh, and we can't forget not only the domestic releases of the games but the imports as well!

I have the Taiko game and set if we're going to play that. I loved the import version of it, but I only have the US version, which is slightly less fun, but still fun.
