Anime Punch 2005 was a big sucess! We were all surprised by how many of you guys turned out and how far some of you came! You all were great and we hope you had a great time at the con!!

So we have decided that we will expand to be a full three-day con!
However, this will not be your standard, run of the mill, hum-drum, hold a sign in the lobby that says "will glomp for pocky" for three hours because there is nothing better to do con. Oh no.
This will be the ANTI-CON. Some might even go so far as to say the ARMAGEDICON!!!!!

But here's the catch, we need you guys to tell us what to do. Oh yes, we'll have some of the same stuff you'll see at every con. We'll still have a gaming room, we'll still have panels, etc. But what will make us different is how we handle them, and what we do with them.

Have you ever had an idea that you think would be awesome, but no con would be willing to do? Well, we're "That con".
Want to wrestle a bear? Find a bear and go for it, we'll even sell tickets.
Want to hold an open form martial arts tournament? Sure, why the hell not!
Want to play Oregon Trail on a big screen for a crowd of people? So do I!
Want to have an entire panel dedicated to whose better, Sasami or Sakura? Well, if that's what you're into...
Want to counter that panel by debating whether Naruto should end up with Sasuke or Kakashi? Go for it!!
Whether it be off the wall, pushing the envelope, or just in bad taste... we'll still do our best to make it happen!
...and it's not just about being tasteless.
Want to talk about why you think the old pokemon were cooler than the new? Great
Want to have a panel about the best dubs out there? Good idea!
Want to jump on top of a stage and shout "Pocky is overrated and Gravitation is poorly written!!!" This is your place!

At our con you'll be able to do what you can never do anywhere else. Be it unpopular, unwise, or just unheard of, we'll still give you an open ear. This is all about what YOU want to do, not what some con-staff thinks you want to do. I can't say enough that it's all about fun.

Tell us what you want to have, and we'll do it. We can't do this without you, and we'll need a lot of help doing it, but I think we can pull off one majorly badass convention!

The other thing we need your help for is advertising. We need people to show up or we'll all take a major dive on this and go broke! We pay this out of pocket you know, and we're all poor college kids!!! The four or five of you who actually read this... spread the word. Blog it, post it on forums, tell your friends, tell their friends, tell the world, tell your church, tell your dog. We want to make this happen, and it all depends on the people who show up.
We'll give you updates here, on the con site, and on the NBP site as we get them.

Ok here are my Idea’s

First I think everything should have a tiny bit to do with Anime in some sense. Cause after all it’s an anime con. If you do hold any physical events I subject you get someone who is taking law to make up Generic waivers for you to cover all the bases otherwise you may be paying out the pocket with legal fees.

These are the ideas I came up while at work…

Idea #1 Sumo Wrestling!: There has to be a sumo team or something in Ohio maybe they will come and Wrestle for us or even have con goers wrestle I would! Or both!

Idea #2 J-Rock/ J-Pop Concert: Cleveland Con Has Peelander Z and Sugio had S.W.E.A.T. I do believe I know these are not real J bands but people loved S.W.E.A.T. was fun none the less People are building hype for Peelander Z. Maybe get them both or other J style bands it would be major awesome!

Idea #3- Dealer Room!!!!: You need Dealers! Plz lots of Dealers. I love Dealers. A major I goto Con is to get stuff I normally can’t get.

Idea #4- Could you get some food place or person to make Asian food there? That would be awesome.

Idea #5- Pocky!: You had no freaking Pocky! You need lots of Pocky! Sugio had very little Pocky it broke so many hearts.

Idea #6 – You’re Anime Sux Theater: You play some of the worst anime ever for 3 days straight. Poor dub’s, poor stories, or just play suck so bad it’s funny.

Idea #7- Non-Cosplay and Cheap Cosplay Contests: You vote on people who just look cool without Cosplay and Cheap Cosplay could be people have to Cosplay in like duct tape and garbage bags like a $20 limit on it and try to look good. In other words people who try to Cosplay the day of con. Lol.

Idea #8 – Anime Physics Contest: I would like to people using there best physics defying tricks. Walking on fences using, hammer space what ever they have came up with.

Idea #9- I would like to see a panel about the real current Japanese life style and maybe a bit of history to gain a better understanding of holidays and such talked about in anime.

Idea #10- Hentai(Pervert) Olympics: My personal fav idea. Let get a bunch of perverts in a room trying to find out who the biggest pervert is with events like the pantie grab where they get a bag and the have to find hidden panties around the place.(of course not being worn at the time or maybe being worn :P) and other pervert driven events.

Idea #11- Rice Eating Contest: Name says it all in every anime people eat bowls and bowls of rice we must do the same.

Idea #12- Noob Desk: You should have a desk just to help out first time con goers maybe we can have a sticker for noobs that says “Don’t hurt Me I’m new” or something

Idea #13- Con-play Contest: You should try to get leaders from other Ohio Cons to come and defend their con’s honor vs. Anime Punch in the Con-Play contest.

Idea #14- Random prizes I like the ticket Idea keep it and there should be theme prizes like give stuff to cosplayers or people who are speaking Japanese or people who stay over dramatic for amusing effect. Just random theme and if you caught doing it you get a prize.

Idea #15 Fan Battles: if you plan on reaching outside anime we could battle the different fans against each other. Like Star Wars Fans vs. Furries or LotR fans vs. Anime Fans or even tag teams Hentai and Yaoi Fans Vs Star Wars and Star Trek Fans that could be fun lol.

Idea #16- AMV Contest: This even has kinda fallen out of favor but I love then since I make AMV’s myself. You need an AMV contest.

**Idea 1: Sumo's!! Someone find me a sumo squad that wants to do a free demo and I'll oil them up and powder their diapers myself!!

*Idea 2: We'll try to get some form of concert going. We have no budget so Japanese guests arn't really an option (unless they are cool enough to be free) but I'll talk to SWEK and stuff.

Idea 3: Hells yeah we'll have dealers! What kind do you want to see besides the norm?

***Idea 4: Hotels are usually a bitch about bringing in external food, but I'll try to cut a deal with them, and talk to local asian places about vending. Bento seems like it would be cool with the idea, and that would totally kick ass!!

*****Idea 6: YES!!! A 24/3 video room of suckage!! I'm not sure how we would pull this off or where we would get the stuff to show, but I freaking love this idea!!

*Idea 7: Hmm... perhaps. This might be a good "in the hallway" event. Oh yes. We will schedule stuff for the hallways.

**Idea 9: This would be an excelent panel. I tried to get one for this year but the Japanese Club decided not to. I have someone on my staff who wants to do a panel like that but she is horribly unreliable and I'm not sure if she's qualified. The WTB people (also unreliable apparently) have one and I would trust them to do a damn good job of it. There is also the Cincinnati people... between all of them we will be able to get something good going.

Idea 11: Sounds like a free lunch, so it obviously doesn't exist. I'll keep it in mind though.

*Idea 13: Well, once we get a reliable graphic designer we want to feature our mascot pounding the shit out of other cons mascots, so I like the idea of this! I'll ask around at Sugoi and Ikasu and see what I can do!

**idea 14: That's not a bad idea! We should do fighting in the hallways! You fight in the hallways you get a free starter deck of pokemon cards and kicked out of the con!! We'll have to see how the prizes hold out though... maybe we should ask for people to donate their old anime crap!

* Idea 15: Well, I want to keep it stricktly anime-ish, and I think you said something to the same end. However, maybe we can have a pig roast one night. A fury pig roast!

*Idea 16: We will definatly show AMV's in some form, and maybe try to do it our way (AKA... AMV Heckling: Least insulted AMV wins!). We'll figure something out for this!

Famous for it's graphic arts porgram and guess what I'm a graphic artist 3 quarters in So I'm good with Adobe products ALSO my girlfriend was the "Least sucky" artist in the art contest aka the winner lol. Anyways if you want me on Staff I would be happy to help I'm only an hour away really here in Dayton. I have a few Ideas on Advertising We need to hit the Soncoats and local "nerd" shops like we have Bookery Fantasy they might give out flyers for us. We need to hit liberays too. Anywhere there is any anime needs to be our flyer but this pocess needs to start now. I know We don't have a Date but we show focus on the site at the moment. once we get a date we'll focus on that. The thing about guests is there nice and all but thats more a Si-Fi thing people at anime cons really don't die over guests we're there too attack eachother without unexecpted attention. I totally agree lets register with every Con site too no matter how small internet and word of mouth it our main weapons. I'm willing to help how I can.

Idea #17 This has been done but we need to figuar out how We need Freebies! ADV samplers anything like that. We nned major backing up We are taking a claim on the Center of Ohio if done right we become #1 Ohio Con We need to get the major Anime players addresses and mail them ASAP.

Idea #18 We Street Fighter there I have the Famed SNK vs Capcom 2 and a crap load of Street Fighter Games maybe I will bring them.

Idea #19 We need an Artist that will do simple drawlings of people in Anime style for like 2 or 3 bucks just simple pencil drawling or somthing. I notice no artists really offer those maybe we can get somone too.

Idea #20 Art & Model Contest: This has kinda whent out the way of AMV's too we need one old school fans love the models. As for the Art it should only be orginals done bigger than 8.5 and 11 and both should be voted on the guests

Idea #22 – Anime Car Show: People show off the Anime Related stuff they have done to there cars. Probably in pictures.

Idea #23 – Web Comic Guest: People are starting to love those web comics sure they would come for free 

Idea #24- Donating: We need to find a clever way to get donations for future events

Idea #25- Anime Name that Tune: We all know what that is

Idea #26- Anime Beat the Geeks: Try and to outwit Anime Nerds

Idea #27- An actual Adult Anime: theater that show anime with brief nudities at least and good movies like…. Perfect Blue, Kite, Vampire Hunter D, Princess Mononoke, Blood the last Vampire and much more

Idea #28- Cosplay Repair Booth: Lots of cons talk about doing it but not many have them. We really need to help our Cosplayers out! And this booth would be a huge help!

Idea #29- Anime Parade! I want to see if Columbus will let us hold a parade!! Can you see 1000 anime fans walking down a street! I doubt they would let us.

Idea # 30- Dances: and lots of them us anime we love to dance even thou we can’t

Idea #31- Relaxation Area: somewhere to cool off from all the action lots of water here Plz.

Idea #32- Anime Did you Know?: A class to teach us stupid facts not commonly known about our loved anime. I would like to have one room set up like a Japanese classroom Daioh Style.

Idea #33- Your Anime Sux 2.0: People should be allowed to defend their Anime after the insults

We will make contestants wear a badge so everyone knows they are in and if someone is caught asleep they lose and they have to check in every hour or so otherwise they are presumed asleep.

Idea #39- Professional Cosplay Photographer: We will have someone take pics of all cosplayers for us so they will never be forgotten! Then we can blackmail them when the run for office!

I have at least one at the moment...

Taking a cue off of Marcon and other Sci-Fi conventions, Ninja Jail and Bail, for which money could either be used for the con or more likely given to a local charity, which I think would help the convention get a bit of good PR.

And besides, Ninjas are far cooler than Klingons anyways :ph43r: :lol:

Oh for the Anime auction How about trying to auction off the RBG core members for a few hours and let the proceeds half to con half to RBGs hotel rooms. Though I'm not sure what the others would say.
