Title: LARPS

The History Follower - November 23, 2005 07:48 AM (GMT)
Anyone formiler with any good Live Action Role-Playing Systems we could play at the con?
The Legend of the Five Rings one is good one for samuari style games. http://l5r.alderac.com/rpg/larp.html
White Wolf has their Mind's Eye Theatre which is pretty popular and can be used for a good goth game or tweaked for a supernartural anime style one.

After a long absence, your fearless gaming coordinator is back. I don't know much about L5R, but I'll try to find a GM or two... any offers?

As for White Wolf, I should be able to get the local Vampire LARPers to make an appearance. I don't know if anyone is doing Werewolf or Mage LARPing, but I should be able to find them.

I do have a Mage GM lined up to run tabletop. He's had a good chronicle going at OSU. I'm sure he'll find a good story for the convention.

By the way,
I've been asked to put a schedule together by Feb 1.
If you want to get on it, start letting me know.
When I get a framework setup, I'll start publishing it.

I would try to have the story anime based. Like if Vampires, you could do Vampire D? Or the Record of Lodoss?

rpb3000 - June 8, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Dude! Record of Lodoss War LARP would OWN!

The History Follower - June 9, 2006 03:45 PM (GMT)
If someone would loan me some DVDs I would try and make one.

saturn - June 9, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
I might be able to help too. I have them on tape. I could tape them for you some how if given the tapes. I got both series on 4 VHS tapes. Tv/OVA. Record of Lodoss would probably be the best since anyone can join in. ^_^

rpb3000 - June 9, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
I have the DVD box set of the TV series (Chronicles of the Heroic Knight). I think I *might* have the OVA on high-quality DVD-rip. I definately don't have any of the movies or Crystania.

Does anyone have the Welcome to Lodoss Island movie special? Has that even been fansubbed? I want to see it!

saturn - June 12, 2006 09:40 PM (GMT)
I heard that was just all the segements at the end of the TV version put together and with some added things along with it. But I haven't heard if it's been fan-subbed or not.

Jesus Tittyfucking Christ, LARPing is bad enough when running about the woods with some boffer swords and casting magic missle with balls of foam or some shit. But to LARP a video game or anime....at a convention no less....

I suddenly have this itching feeling to take you five's lunch money.

Alex - November 14, 2006 06:43 AM (GMT)
HEY, a bunch of my friends and I would LARP Cardcaptor Sakura in between musical practice during high school! Don't be talking smack about anime LARPing.

Craig - November 14, 2006 07:06 AM (GMT)
And by you and a bunch of friends, you clearly mean You and your friend who you had to bribe into doing it. And it wasn't so much as role playing rather than running around your parent's back yard and the surrounding area with sticks.

Anime LARPing is pretty lame. I mean, don't other larpers atleast try to make something up for their setting? I'm not sure how these things work in the Wild World of LARPing.

I still want to take your lunch money.

Alex - November 14, 2006 07:10 AM (GMT)
Hey, nice attitude.

Craig - November 14, 2006 09:01 AM (GMT)
It's what I'm here for...

sixpod - November 16, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
I think something like a FMA roleplay or something would be cool or something old school like voltron. hehe

saturn - November 16, 2006 05:48 AM (GMT)
I never have lunch money, good luck with your hunt. Oh wait, I have 3 pennies...only 3...I guess you can have one...only one...

Anime Larping can be ANYTHING...(including running the yard with sticks and stealing money) The only difference between it and regular larping which is based off of fantasy anyway (Lodoss War is Fantasy) is the story behind the larpers...which would be Ed and Al searching for the PH stone or the fight for the kingdom as in Lodoss war. The thing is what "System" do you use. Such as Neros or Armtard or running around with sticks.

No differance really compared to normal Larps, just anime influinsed instead of basic fantasy influinsed.

rpb3000 - November 16, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
I've never graduated from the "running around with sticks" LARP! happy.gif

Craig - November 18, 2006 08:41 AM (GMT)
I did.

All the parents in the neighborhood collaborated with one another and bought all the kids laser tag guns.

Christmas was AWESOME that year.

saturn - November 20, 2006 05:42 AM (GMT)
Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still with the elf. *lol*

Craig - November 20, 2006 08:49 AM (GMT)
Well...then I guess the only solution is to commit mass genocide on the elven kind.

I'll call the Orcs & Goblins.

rpb3000 - November 20, 2006 04:07 PM (GMT)
Orcs and Goblins? Pfft. They're nothing.

demon_cat_snowy - November 20, 2006 09:45 PM (GMT)
What about demon-cats? With voodoo dolls? *stabbystabby* biggrin.gif

rpb3000 - November 21, 2006 05:04 AM (GMT)
