Title: Brilliant Tournament Idea
Description: Something Fresh, Something Exciting

Kuroshi - October 30, 2005 02:41 PM (GMT)
Soul Calibur 3 tournament, fully unlocked, everyone must pick Random Creation for their character.

Kaisermikeb - October 31, 2005 02:24 AM (GMT)
While the idea of a SCIII tourney is not fresh, if random creation means what I think it does, then this might actually be pretty cool!

Doctor Emmit Brown - October 31, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
Nah, I say we should try to get a Para Para Paradise machine

Masami Eiri - October 31, 2005 05:46 AM (GMT)
Randomness in fighting games certainly sounds amusing, though I've always been fond of triathalon like competions like the old Nintendo World Championships (http://www.classicgaming.com/tmk/nwc1990.shtml)... Not sure how or what would work for that in terms of current games though.

Kuroshi - October 31, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)
The Random Creation option in SC3 quickly randomly makes and gives you a character with random appearance, weapon, and perhaps moveset. It's an interesting alternative to using a normal character, or flat-out creating your own. Some funny ones were seen by me at Ikasu, including Scaramouche the jester, and Ninja Pope

Masami Eiri - October 31, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)
That does seem like great fun... testing our creativity in finding the most efficient/ most cheap moves that use standard sorts of button combinations. I inevitably find myself punching the combination to perform Hadouken no matter what fighting game I end up playing. Of course, I also jump too much in any fighting game, which tends to get me killed in short order.

Kaisermikeb - October 31, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
That's not too uncommon. There are a lot of hoppers out there!

Hey, if you play Super Smash Bros it can work FOR you!

Masami Eiri - November 1, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
Ah yes, very true.... Such a fun game for attacking from the air, Link and his bombs especially were fun to catch people with.

Kaisermikeb - November 1, 2005 01:52 AM (GMT)
I'm a Samus player, so not only can I bomb you from above, but I can work my way up the level with them!

Nah, I say we should try to get a Para Para Paradise machine

If not I could just bring my ps2 w/controllers... I dunno how you would make it into a tournament though?

sturmvogel - November 22, 2005 12:08 AM (GMT)
That's a fantastic idea....it will definitely even the field for those who don't play that much.

And Masami...there really is no jumping to speak of in SC III. It's just a hop, unless executing a certain attacks.

Ameria - November 22, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
SC3? Super Smash Bros.? Feh... SUPER MARIO WARS! XD That's what we need...

*meep* "MULTIKILL!" *meep* "KILLING SPREE!" *meep* "HOLY S**T!"

sakana_janai - January 1, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
Maybe SC3 with your own user created characters? Kinda like how Tekken is in the arcades?

Not really sure how that would work, tho... lol

Kaisermikeb - January 1, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
so for SCIII we could have a normal tourney, a random creation one, and a byoC one? I like each idea on its own, but does anyone think that's just too much?

Kuroshi - January 2, 2006 08:09 PM (GMT)
Sounds a little much. byoC can be unfair at times.

Kaisermikeb - January 2, 2006 11:59 PM (GMT)
Someone told me that random creation might not be as cool as it seems, but BYOC might be cool.

That being said, we should definatly have a SCII thing

Masami Eiri - January 4, 2006 07:33 AM (GMT)
SCII Idea of Evil: The game console the game is played on is randomly selected before each match.

No one said it was a good idea, of course, but versatilty is a useful skill... plus button mashing is equally effective on gamecube, ps2, and xbox.

sakana_janai - January 5, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
I definately think byoc would be much fun. (^^) It would be neat to show off your character!

But either way I'm down. And yeah, SCII would be fun too!
