Eh, if you're gonna go with two Takahashi, you may as well throw in a third: Akane.

What about Nabiki? She's arguably cuter than Akane plus she's got a better fashion sense. Or better, yet - Shampoo. Another good Takahashi character is Mana from Mermaid Saga. I'm not a huge fan of Kagome myself so any of the above replacements for her are fine.
