Title: Cosplay Categories/Anime trivia
Description: Small complaints.

Anime trivia:
Don't base first and second place upon which anime the announcer likes the most. Also, don't refuse shoujo manga suggestions from the audience just because it's shoujo. It's important to remember that there's more to anime than Gundam, as well. The AMV questions were a nice touch, though. n__n
Cosplay categories:
If you list 'crossplay' as an award category on the site, then you should, you know, kind of not forget about it entirely come convention day.

We did ask several questions about shoujo manga, and while we had two gundam rounds, one of them was about Gundam Wing which I know most fan girls like.
The only thing we refused to ask questions about was Gravitation, not Shoujo manga, because that is totally one sided. I tried to put in as big a mix of genres as possible, with a range of televised, popular on Dvd, popular in fandom, and rare questions to attempt to highlight which group knew the most.
Also, don't forget there were THREE clamp based rounds, and that the guy group got that difficult government persocom question.
As for basing it on which show was best, it was actually judged on how well you could back it up, not the show itself, even though I claimed the reasoning was because it is the "worst show ever". Plus, to give the loosing team a second chance I offered the chance for a new question if they could name the themesong. Note, that was after we had rejected the original last question which was song based, that the other team aced.
Whether or not you think the final question was fair, I and my assoicates are confident that the outcome of the game was correct.
At the same time, thank you for your comments, we will try to make things a little more professional looking next year. Also, if you would like to add questions to the game show or even host your own, please tell us!

You might want to get an actual girl to help you with the questions next time. Some of us *do* prefer slash with, yanno, some actual basis in canon. -__-;; I also don't really see why Gravitation would be particularily one-sided; your site description recommended that mecha fans pick up stuff like Marmalade Boy (too shoujo for my tastes, but meh). >.>;
Clamp does shounen and shoujo manga, which makes them good for trivia questions....not to mention that they have fifty zillion different series, and have been continously putting out works for a decade or so now. Oo;
It should be noted that if most of the audience is composed of cosplayers from shoujo series and/or are female....you should probably be expecting questions over shoujo manga (though I personally would've thrown out something like, "Who is Itachi's fish-like companion in the manga Naruto?"). ^^; You may want to clamp down on the audience questions, or keep them to a single round or two, because you'll never know what they're going to come up with (or if they have the correct answer!), not to mention that what seems like an esoteric question to you may be common knowledge to others.
Escaflowne was also a good choice, being known for combining shoujo and shounen themes. It's surely difficult to decide questions that encompass a wide genre of anime, more specifically, balancing newer with older releases (ie, Death Note vs. Record of Lodoss War), so you may want to form a group of anime fans with various tastes to help you with creating questions for next year. A single anime fan can only watch so much by themselves. ^__~
I like trivia, so I may help contribute questions next year and stay out of competition myself....I've got a wide variety in tastes, too (Battle Royale to Naruto to Tokyo Babylon). ^^ I'll remember the FLCL and Gibson forevermore, though.
The 'what's the coolest anime' comes off as highly subjective, so I definitely reccomend you change that for next year too.

Yeah, like I said somewhere else, my final questions sheet got deleted, so I only had a draft to work with. The team rounds were already weighted and fair, but the toss ups were mainly fragments from other things that I hadn't had a chance to find enough questions for (and were way more girl oriented). I felt that this unbalanced the game, so when I saw the chance to tie things up, I took it. Unfortunatly I didn't know what to do after that. Had you gotten the band for ex-Dream correct, I would have extended the play. And personally, I think that was fair. After all, the other team pinpointed an exact song from the middle of their favorite show.
At anyrate... you are officially gameshow staff for 2006! Congradulations! We'll get you an armband and a gun right away!
(should you accept the position that is)
