Phones in Japan are a bit different from the ones we know. Japan color codes their phones to signify what the phone dose
1. Green: Have become very common they take phone cards and ¥10\

2. Green with gold bands: Are for overseas calls
3. Red: Phone will take ¥10

4. Pink: Are privately owned and are paid for by the business

5. Yellow: Takes ¥10 and ¥ 100 (¥100 is for long distance calls)

6. Grey: Contain jacks for faxes and modems for connections
7. Orange: International calls are possible, and coins and IC cards can be used.
