I'm going as either Kamui or Seishirou from the X manga, depending on the weather (hot means I'm *not* going to be wearing a trenchcoat xx;), and whether or not I can get my friend Danielle to be my Subaru again for me. Slightly ghetto and could be better, but it should still be fun. I'm slightly limited due to timing, too--I didn't realize this con was here until this last Sunday, April 24. OO;

Unfortunately, I don't have a cosplay outfit ready, but if I can confirm I'm going, I'll either pull out one of two simple cosplays, one of which may not count as a cosplay, but eh...

That's fine---but there *are* guys who cosplay, you know. ^^ You should probably set one up in the future, though; for me (and other people too I'm sure) cosplaying is one of the biggest attractions of attending a convention.

Green cape -- white pants -- goggles -- black sleeveless shirt. And the rod, if I can find a way to attach the top to the rod.

I've just started on this costume today, so I'm pretty hopeful. ^_^; Look for the red-haired girl with the big golden stick that looks ready to fall apart. That'll be me.

She's quite a talent with this sort of thing, so if we put our heads together, I'm sure we can come up with something totally kickass.

I'll definately check that out. I love Studio Ghibli^^ I want to eventually own all of Hayao Miyazaki's movies. Nausicaa is one of my favorites though. I liked both the manga and the anime.

I got the Art of Spirited Away out of the library and considered not giving it back because i liked it so much. I'm going to buy it if I can find it somewhere. I love the fact that the library has just about anything I want^^

Grave of the Fireflies and Only Yesterday are his two best.

Other notable Ghibli films are Whisper of the Heart, and My Neighbors the Yamadas, although they do not have the same kind of appeal that Miyazaki has. Some would call them more mature films though, and I think that either way they are definatly worth a watch.

By chance, have you seen Future Boy Conan? Miyazaki's series which is suspiciously like Castle in the Sky (even though it was made like 20 years earlier)? We'll be showing some of it at the con if you havn't!

Grave of the Fireflies is a great movie! I recommend it to anyone who likes a more serious storyline.

Anyway, if I can come, I'll probably be one of 2 characters. I'll probably be Tai (Digimon) if I don't go to Paicon the week before. If I do go to Paicon, I'll wear Tai there and be Kouichi (also Digimon) at Anime Punch. Very easy, straightforward costumes, but considering the money I've put into cosplay lately, I think that's a good thing.

Also, if I'm Tai, my sis will be with me as Wargreymon (yeah! I get to make that one too, lol). So that should be interesting.

I watched Grave of the Fireflies. The DVD I rented was really scratched up, so I missed some scenes, but I liked it anyways. It was sad though... My sister said she didn't like it, but my sister has strange tastes sometimes...
