Title: Pump it up, anyone??
Misato_Katsuragi - September 2, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
I've just recently acquired a new dance game called Pump it Up.
Ring a bell to anyone? Yes, no?
It has 5 feet things instead of four, and is a lot more challenging.
If anyone wants, I'll get another dance pad, and I'll bring it along with me. As long as we can get a tv, I'll bring my ps2 also, so we can play it.
Anyone that's interested, reply, and tell me, so I know.

I'm sorry, but I hate that game with a passion, The diagonals are awkward, and the timing and judging are awful.

Oh,that generic crappy version that is the only one at my local arcade that's hogging room for the real dance dance revoultion games.I haven't played it yet but it looks really retarded.
Kaisermikeb - September 2, 2005 08:00 PM (GMT)
I tried to play it once, didn't do so hot.
Still, don't be afraid to bring it! We may not have video-game room space, but you can always set up in the lobby! Especially at night!

Yep. I really like playing Pump It Up. I didn't know it was out for PS2; I thought it was just for PC :-o

they used to have PIU at northgate til' tilt went kerpoof. way worse on this then ddr, but it's still fun. :D that'd be awesome if you brought it.
Misato_Katsuragi - September 3, 2005 08:34 PM (GMT)
I used to go to northgate to play it! I wore kitty ears. My boyfriend work up there too, before it died...
I'm going to bring it.
BTW, it's not generic, it's actually Korean, and it's got a lot more free-style capability than DDR does. Take it from me, I own both, I've pretty much mastered both, and I love them both.
Yes, it just came out on the 30th. Rumor has it that each store only got in 2 copies for ps2, and 2 for X-Box, so... I guess I got lucky that I know people, and that I had enough money to pay for the entire thing when I pre-ordered it.
It's got all the same songs on it as the one at Northgate did, and then some, xxtra!
xxtra_large - September 4, 2005 04:40 AM (GMT)
!! what's your/your boyfriend's name? xD i probably bumped into you a couple times maybe? i remember kitty ears!
and then some = awesome. :3 glad you're bringing it! i can't wait. x3 i wish i would've gotten a chance to play it more when tilt was still there. northgate is boring now. xx woo forest fair/cinti mills!

inuyasha_goth - September 5, 2005 08:58 PM (GMT)

By not saying anything meaningful in this post I can say so much about that statement, IG.

My name's Jessie, and my Boyfriend's name is Justin.
You probably did bump into me a few times. I hung out up there a lot with a guy named Thomas for awhile. He got me started on it. Heather hung out with us sometimes, too.
My nickname used to be Dibs, and is still to some people. If that rings a bell?
My birthday is the Sunday of AP, so ^__^ I'll be out and about the whole time, but I'll see if we can't set it up somewhere, and have someone watch it for me. <3

Aieee, the skillsets required for pump it up and DDR are completely different. I'm pretty good at DDR, but pump it up confounded me.
rpb3000 - September 21, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
I'll have to try that. I'm decent at DDR (can get by on Heavy mode most of the time), but it'd be nice to be knocked back to the roots again. Always good to have that fresh, humiliated feeling ^_^
Kaisermikeb - September 21, 2005 05:41 AM (GMT)
even though I play on heavy and fail rarely, DDR always has that humiliating feeling for me because of my lack of balance and grace!

Yeah Mike I'm the same way, hence why I don't play much of it at all. I see the arrows and my brain instantly starts remembering old fighting game combo commands. :bash:

Oddly enough I don't relish the feeling of humiliation.
Plus when I play DDR I tend to hit people... on accident as I flail for balance. Ah... Good times.
Misato_Katsuragi - October 16, 2005 02:32 AM (GMT)
I love all the dance games, but pump is a lot more freestyle than DDR is, and that's why I like it more. I dance when I play, because I don't have balance, and it helps me to have a little.
posyden - October 22, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
well I've played both ddr and piu and I gotta say..I enjoy pump more....
Pump is also a lot more difficult
and Pump is just generally a better dancing game
Misato_Katsuragi - January 26, 2006 09:52 PM (GMT)
Well, I'll be bringing it, but I don't think I'll be bringing a television... I don't have much room in the car with all the people and the bags, and such.
If we could acquire a tv, it'd work out beautifully, but I can't bring one, so... maybe someone could help out?
rpb3000 - January 26, 2006 10:50 PM (GMT)
Question: Is this con gonna be lame like Ohayocon and close the game rooms at night?
Kaisermikeb - January 27, 2006 04:08 AM (GMT)
Answer: When are we ever lame? No, the games go on!
rpb3000 - January 27, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
Yes! I shall once again be able to have my 3AM DDR fix ^___^
Misato_Katsuragi - January 29, 2006 03:22 AM (GMT)

All night gaming!! I can get more people to come to con!! I can win the bet!! YAY!!!
