Title: Batman anime

Well, sort of.

July 8th, Warner Brothers is releasing six shorts done by six different directors to bridge Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, called The Gotham Knight.

And the directors choice is interesting...

Yasuhiro Aoki (Mind Game)
Futoshi Higashide (Air)
Toshiyuki Kubooka (Nadia, Gunbuster)
Hiroshi Morioka (Tsubasa)
Shoujirou Nishimi(Mind Game and Case Closed)

and

Jong-Sik Nam (He-Man: Masters of the Universe)

One of these things doesn't belong with the others...to be honest, I have no idea what to make of this. Just a blank stare, but the trailer looks pretty cool. And with Kubooka in there, I will be checking it out, if only just for him

It's like getting in to some high level car like a Porche or Lamborgini on the Autobaun, slamming on the gas and when the car is gets above 65, you hear what sounds like a tiny fart come out of the tail pipe and the car stops.

Sorry for the bad analogy, but it had to be said.

Huh?

Human after all - May 13, 2008 06:54 PM (GMT)
Big O's animation style was inspired by the 90s Batman animated series.

Dude, I would love to see a Big-O anime!

Ah. I actually remember watching that, though I suppose they were reruns. :P

Wasn't there a second installment to Big-O? I saw all of the first series and then just recently heard about Big-O 2...Unless people are just lying to me O.O

fail troll is fail

Yuffie - May 14, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
Regarding fail...

Link honestly works now. x.x By now anyone who cared enough would have figured it out, but to save future angst...

Human after all - May 14, 2008 03:45 AM (GMT)
Well it was 2 seasons of 13 episodes each.

It was 2 seasons 13 epsidoes each. It was originally only one season, but due to popularity of it airing on cartoon network, CN helped fund 13 more.

I can't wait for this Batman short collection, though I find it strange that the directors aren't all top tier, generally they seem to be good animators who tend to work with people like Morimoto et al.

Maybe the animatrix aliented those guys too much from Hollywood...
