Hear is a pick if you have never seen the show.

Glad to see another TTGL cosplayer joining the Brigade.

I know there are better ways to do this, but if you want to keep it low tech then try finding some plastic piping and sheets and glue them together. Use cardboard or foam wherever there's an odd end. Paint over it with something thick once you're done.

If you want to be REALLY light and accurate looking and don't mind spending a lot of time, try getting a foam block and carving parts out.

Nice avatar by the way. It seems you've found an exerpt from the REAL episode 6.

I was thinking about a foam block i don't know where i would buy one, i would be really sceard of messing it up but i am willing to give it a shot.

I love my sig i just found it in Photo Bucket

I just found this picture of some girl who had an incredably clever idea for the gun. Get yourself a crutch and make a rifle.

One method might be to get what is called an "airsoft" gun. They are mostly air guns that shoot plastic pellets. They are made to look like real guns. You might be able to get a gun that looks close to Yoko's gun and you can make some modifications to it.

Airsoft guns have a tendency to be expensive, though. Furthermore, I'm not entirely sure you'd be allowed to walk around with one since they are in fact projectile weapons, but I dunno anything about that.

The crutch sounds like a great idea. I'm interested to know how it comes out if you decide to use that.

I agree with the crutch idea.
I took the liberty at looking at a few websites and your statement about the gun's price is quite valid. If by chance you find a cheap version of this gun, it can be modified not to shoot. You might get away with using it as a prop.
I also know that of all things, there are model kits of some guns, so you might be able to do what's called "Kit-bashing" to add a little detail to the gun. It may be less expensive than the airsoft guns.

I just started my Kiyal cosplay last night. It will be done by ACen! Mwahaha.

I don't even know where to buy that stuff. Do you have any web sight that would help me out. I am totaly going to try the crutch idea. When i am done with it i will bring it to club to show it off.

Simply Google airsoft if you want to go that route. There was one page that used to sell gun kits, but they no longer exsist. I am doing some research to find where I can find the model kits of these guns. I'll get back to you as soon as I find any information.

Glad to hear we have more coming to Acen with us. Even better a character we don't often see done.

I comment on that in the cosplay progress thread, with the pain I used.

Wow... I just won an award at CCC this year for my Yoko cosplay. I made the gun using styrofoam, craft foam, poster board, and PVC pipe. Everyone loved it. They said it looked really good. Plus it also helps to have an artist to help you out. :D

Ano anyways. I would be prepared to spend a lot of time on this. I spent over a month on mine, but I made the thigh highs and boots. I didn't paint anything, I just used fabric since I'm horrible at painting. T.T

For AP I plan to make a secret Yoko cosplay I have never seen anyone do. Well, technically I'm making it for Ohayocon, but I plan on bringing it to AP as well. ^.^
My husband will be Kamina and my 6 month old baby (Will be a year old at AP next year) will be pre-time skip Darry... If she can still wear it after Ohayocon anyway... If not, I'll probably make her Pre-time skip Nia.

Can't wait to see all the beautiful TTGL cosplays next year! *squees*

I think she should be Boota. xD It'd be cute. Babies always make good animals. <3

Yuffie - July 1, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
Darry would be cute. Heh, I have a hard time seeing a one year old wanting to be in a Nia cosplay, but then again, some kidlets are really laid back.

I want to see a Boota. xD

Jenny said Rossiou to me, but I don't think I'd be happy as a character that was extrememly well know and/or got a lot of hate.

This you Mazoku?

I believe so. xD Shes the only Yoko with a baby I know!

Yupperz that's moi! ^.^

I was thinking about making her Boota for CCC this year, but it would have been too hawt. T.T
Well, if she's starting to walk by AP next year then I'll make her Darry, if not, then Boota sound good? (I only picked Darry because you find out later that Boota's really a dude. T.T)
