Title: My Cosplay Ideas for 09'
Description: OMG he's making his own costume!?

Yeah I've decided instead of wearing my Ichigo Bankai costume like I did this year (which I got of off E-bay) I'm actually gonna make my own costume. I plan on trying to be as mind numbingly detailed as possible and use the actually costume elements for each of my ideas.
The 1st being Haseo from .//Hack Roots- If I decide to go with this I plan on using actual leather and making his daggers our of wood. Also his costume will be fairly hard to make...
the 2nd (and hardest) costume being Canti from FLCL- If I do this (Which at this point I'm really hardcore thinking about) I'm going to use an actual t.v hollow it out and modify it to be wearable and safe. Also I plan on trying to as much as possible make the costume out of metal...It'll be the Atomusk version so it'll be completly red and amazing.
I'd like to know anyones thoughts on my Ideas and wear if at all I can get materials for either of these costumes, and I also would like to know which you think would be better ^_^;; Thank you.

Dude, ok. Please don't take this the wrong way, and I don't want to be a buzzkill, but both those costumes are really complex and require fairly extensive propmaking skills, and in the case of Haseo, sewing. Usually for people just starting out making costumes, I suggest something a little simpler. It's really easy to get in way over your head in this hobby attempting a costume over your skill level, and when that happens, the result isn't good.
That said, if you still think you can do it... I'm going to seriously beg you not to make canti out of metal. It will be heavy, it will be clanky, and most cons won't allow it. I'd suggest some sort of thermoplastic or fiberglass/resin for doing him. Haseo, you at least seem to be on the right track with though, so, if you do decide to go through with it, make sure you make it awesome ;p

That's what I've done for the past two years.

Thanks. Yeah I was looking at a canti costume online and the guy made it out of cardboard/paper mache and used a hollowed out moniter for the head and it seemed to work out. Although I dunno if I'm keen on making stilts to for the whole height thing. Anyways I think I might go with Haseo and seek the help of my firends mom. She sows a bunch and can probably help me out with learning to sow more complex things.

Haezo is too diffuclt for a begginer. So is Canti.
I suggest going for an easier character. Bleach has plenty of them.

Well.. If he wants to try something insanely difficult we can't stop him.. o_O I don't recommend it but in the end the cosplay is up to the one that will be making it, right? Lol.

If you want to go as something awesome go as Gunbuster. With working hydraulics.

Ok, It's my turn to be bitten by the cosplay bug! Thanks to the Twins and Lothlin!
I had talked with the twins for a while and I have considered going as either Shimada Kambei or Hayashida Heihachi from Samurai 7. Reason for Kambei, I feel I look a little like him, the reason for Heihachi, He kind of reminds me of myself. I like to tinker :D
I like both characters also and that's the main point. I have gotten some pointers from the twins and I am open to any suggestions. Right now I am doing some research on Kambei. I hope to have this done by Ohayocon.
