So I finally got the game today. After the miniquiz and this annoying fingerprint thing, it said,

It's Azure Dreams with Pokemon! And seeing as I'm in need of a roguelike fix, I'm actually going to get it in a few minutes.

It does a little personality test at the beginning, and it ask you to touch your ds screen so it can tell your aura or something, but I think it just scans the fingerprint.

I'll say it's not the best game for everyone, game reviewers are pretty hard on it, but I love it, and I think you'd like it too. Buy Time or Darkness though, it improves on the game SO much then the first two.

I don't think it just just scans the fingerprint because there's people on GameFAQs that have gotten several different colors. You can actually trigger it using just the stylus if you want.

If you've played any dungeon crawler in the past and liked it, you'll definitely like this game. Even if you haven't, as long as you like Pokemon you should have a good time with it. It's a bit more forgiving that most Mystery Dungeon games (the Azure Dreams comparison is pretty apt here), but the difficulty curve is there and it does ramp up.

in the new game I'm a mudkip. My partner is charmander.

Machop...they had such cool choices in the older game for starter.

Mudkip is nice. ^_^ Especially since Groundon kept kicking my butt today.

i got this game and thought it was awesome. i originally was a cyndaquil, but tried again and got a cuebone. ^.^ my partner was a bulbasaur named alister.

the game can kinda be hard when you decide to grind for lvs and a freak TORNADO rips outa the cave. it gives you warning, but the first time around you just have no idea.

the quiz is random and won't necessarily give you the questions for your ideal pokemon to be the first time around. it's all on some crazy point system.

and friending pokemon is even harded and i have no idea how to make it work for the ones you want. but! the guide says it's possible to get pokemon like mew in your party. still... idk.

I do school, needlework, and that. It keeps my mind off things. xD I'm fine, I'm fine.

Friend Bow's are your friend in the first game, level 80 Delcatty with a friend bow, no one says no.

I wish I could recruit some of the Pokemon I've been fighting *coughDratinicough* but you can't do it the first time you run through a dungeon. <_<

I got skitty this time, with Mudkip as my partner. I think I might actually stay with it.. I doubt it though.

Hoorah, this time Groudon didn't go berserk and I pummeled him handily. :ninja:

Edit: I got three of the Silver Rank dungeons.

Landslide Cavern - Recruited Gible, I saw some Ampharos and Wormadans wandering around. There's 4 deluxe boxes sitting on floor 13.

Lush Cavern - Exeggcute and Yanma wandering around. 2 deluxe boxes available on floor 6.

Serenity River - Lots of weak water Pokemon with Masquerain appearing on the last few floors. If you're not careful Masquerain WILL KO your escort with Ominous Wind (deals damage and causes Berserk). 3 deluxe boxes available on floor 8.

Just a note, when you get into the point in the game where they tell you, go to waterfall cave to talk to Torkoal--take this time to pause the storyline , do some missions, and stock up on items. You will need them. Badly. And it'll be your last chance for a while to do so, along with some super hard dungeons coming up.

Bring at least 4 sleep and revive seeds with you to the final dungeon, they'll help a lot. Level 40 should be fine.

Talking about school, what not to do with this game. Sit in chemistry for a week and play that instead of paying 100% attention in class. I may have to admit that has something to do with ending up with a D- on the chapter test! My grade was only 8 points below average though...

I'm so close to impulse buying a DS and getting this and all the games I missed for it.

Well I told you I could catch up really quick if I'd just sit there and play it. I guess that means I can rescue you now. :ninja:

I'm at the part where they are like.. go to the secret waterfall.. there might be a cave there. I go to the waterfall and get surrounded by whooper. Cyndaquil is getting water raped and Fred keeps healing them with watergun because I keep forgetting to turn that move off. ><

Water moves are kind of worthless for the first few dungeons because there's Pokemon all over the place that can absorb or redirect it. Freaking Storm Drains. >_>

Guess what I did in chemistry today...xD(went for half a day). But we had an freetime when I was playing, so it's alright.

I need more seeds, the final battle is so hard. I'll try one more time, and then I'll restart the game, so I'll better prep second time around.

I'm at the Mt Horn/Rock Path split thing.. What level do you think I should be before I go on? xD Groudon looks tough. :3

I completely forget. @.@ I knew it took a couple tries, levels don't matter, just get the sleep seeds to throw at him. You have Fred, so a few waters guns should do the trick.

I did finally beat Dialga. And I have to say, I have a small objection to being made the main character, and then I get killed off. I kinda get attached to myself, you know?

And in pokemon too. Dangit, I'm going back to Nintendogs!
