Well, now that AP 08 has come to an end, it is time to start thinking about 09, and as a forum FOR 09 has yet to be made, and as it IS technically Post-con, this is going here.
Do you have any anime/cosplay related goals to reach before AP 09? Something in particular you want to watch? A particular cosplay you really want to do? Whatever your goals, post them here.

My goals are..
1. Watch more anime to get a broader view of the subject matter
2. Try to find old anime that only a handful of people have heard of and watch them
3. Set up a training schedule to lose some poundage so that when AP 09 comes around I have a larger selection of cosplay open to me
4. Read more manga. I have held off on this because, at $10 a pop they are a bit pricey.
5. Do not become one of those kids sitting on the floor in a book store reading manga because I can't afford it
6. GET A FRIGGEN JOB
7. Save most/all money for AP 09 to buy more swag.

Er...if an anime's old, it's been discovered. If it's been discovered and is good, it becomes well-known.

See where I'm going here? It's the new stuff that people haven't heard of and may be decent. Watching older shows is good specifically because you can be sure that you aren't wasting your time.

I get what you're saying, but most people now a days only watch new stuff thats coming out, they don't go back 20 years or whatever and check out the stuff they missed. That's what I'm getting at. Going back and watching the stuff everyone was watching when I still thought Scooby Doo was the best cartoon in existance.

My goals are simple:
Lose weight so I can cosplay some cooler characters.
Help with the con so it can be better than ever.

find enough material for a Physics of Anime panel, if there is enough out there

come up with a new design for cookies

get more than three hours of sleep on Friday night

I think I might try my hand at cosplaying next year.

Could just get Patrick or whoever to read the Laws of Anime Physics. And then the Evil Overlord List for good measure.

Goals for me include making/doing a respectable (first) cosplay from a show I enjoy. No idea what or how right now.

Also purchase more swag. My roommate has more anime stuff than I do, and I'm supposed to be the anime guy.

I need abs and a general better figure...

Ideally my gaol would be to have the body to cosplay Sai...

Yanno I always talk and think about these things but never actually put them down, probably half the reason they never get done. Haha.

Lesse, Goals for Sarcy:

1. Be more open and crazy, less drawn in and quiet. Meet a person or two.

2. Don't be afraid to particiipate.

3. Cosplay or dress up in general.

4. Find something to obsess over. I feel like I go to the dealers room and don't see anything I really want to have. I seem to think if I have a series or character to obsess over mayhaps I can waist more money. Haaha.

5. Remember my "Manga-I-Have" list so I can more easily pick up manga.

6. Get caught up on some recent/more anime. It's pretty sad when my repitwar consists of the few it does, especially since they're all pretty dated.

1. Run a panel or mini event in '09. I think I have a better time at cons when I have stuff to do.

2. Learn to pack the car better so we can see out the back window.

3. Ear tag all the L's so we can get a more accurate count before releasing them back into the wild.

(For those of you that want to cosplay for the first time, I occasionally take commissions.)

The wild L is a sensative creature that must be treated with caution. Odd out we can Lure them in with sweets however.

Ooooo just got an idea from the topic about the old Toonami.

Maybe someone could find old video's they have from it...like vhs I'm guessing since it was a while ago. That'd be a fun panel :D

1.As it has always been my goal in life...Watch more anime (I normally try to watch a full series a week but it doesn't always work out)
2.Start doing tons of sit-ups so My abs can be ripped if I decide to cosplay as Haseo.
3. Invent Air Treks! (I don't care if they're dangerous or not even as powerful as I want the to be...I just want them to exist!
4. Hopefully start learning some Japanese...If I find time
5.Work on my aggressive In-line if I wish to cosplay as Agito, speed is no issue tricks on the other hand are Xp (Doesn't know how to do anything like grinding yet) and that's pretty much it I think...Oh wait...
6. STOP BEING SO DAMN SHY!!!!

And Light yaoi.

1. Get in shape.
2. Lrn2cosplay.
3. Save money. This might prove difficult...but it's for a good cause.
4. Find a cheap flight out; the drive is merciless.
5. Watch all of Bleach...among other anime I need to finish. Also, find more new anime I haven't seen yet.
6. Attend moar panels and events/buy unique drinks/go to the rave/be able to see Opening and Closing Ceremonies (we always have to leave so eeeearly XP).
7. Draw more badges; that was an interesting experience and I wish to relive it.

I would use anime scenes to demonstrate real physics.

1. Actually get around to doing a panel.
2. Develop awesome sense (think spider sense but for awesomeness/epicness) so that I don't miss anything
3. Attend precon staff meetings so I actually know what is going on when I get to the con.
4. Help out the con for more then just the weekend of con.
5. get laid
6. Start remembering people's names not just thier faces.
7. Learn to bend reality to my whims.

Looks like #5 and #7 go hand in hand.

What's amazing is that most people will tell you that one brings the other with it, and it doesn't matter which order you do them in. Like, you bend reality to your will and you start getting laid. Or, you get laid, and somehow acquire the balls to bend reality to your will.

Useful knowledge, really.

If anime has taught me anything, yelling very loud can bring about #7. I don't know if I can say the same about #5.

Oh well, maybe at the next AP I can actually muster up the courage to have at least one decent conversation with a girlie :3~
