for all of you who participated (or even watched), it was alot lamer than it was made out to be. On the event sheet it said that it was a "no holds barred recreation of the famous water sport."

well, it had nothing BUT holds barred. Everything from splashing to jumping was made illegal, and every five seconds the referee would take the ball and hold a two minute conference on the rules.

but, all in all it was a cool idea.

Apparently heroism was also banned. I got kicked out the pool for taking down the 6 foot juggernaut, and after clearly explain to the ref that I had broken no rules, she still kicked me out. Oh well.

Sorry, that girl should NOT have been judging, and will NOT be permitted to do that again this year. I'm not sure how she decided she was judge, or why she thinks it's ok to decide such things, but next year I'll make sure one of my guys is there to allow the proper level of awesome to occur.

In fact, I intend to play myself next year.

great! because even through all that, the moments of battle were pretty intense. there was this one guy (a true 6foot 8, 250 lbs fiend) from the other team who was god near impossible to get the ball from. AND YET WE STILL WON.

Ill be looking forward to it next year.

OK, this pissed me off and I didn't even play. THERE ARE NO RULES IN BLITZ BALL!!! That woman was a complete idiot. Though it was epic with the "tug-boat".

Even though the person who scored the winning point said he didnt think it went in. We'll have you next year.

I'm kinda upset that I missed seeing blitzball, it sounded like it was a blast dispite everything.

Mike, I don't know if you are even starting to think about next year but I would be willing to work on it / take charge for next year if you want.

OMG, I'm so glad that I participated in Blitzball this year.

kinda pissed that I was PUSHED into the water 3 times... :angry:

but overall it was fun... I think we needed a better ball and some actual goals.


next year may I suggest volleyball like Dead or Alive style? ;)

I'd be up for DOA volleyball.

I was there this year and last, and last was the best. This year was a ton of bull that wasn't needed. For one, there were no clear goals. The chick judging kept changing them from under the chair, to between the legs, and then decided to give the game point for throwing the ball completely over the chair completly. Then, the whole issue of grappling was turned into being seen as serious as hitting square an eleventh time during a choke hold in Alaska. And then they didn't have a ball for us until they stole some kid's pokeball while he was sleeping in the hallway.

We take care of our own.

Aw, a friend and I wanted to go to this, but I think it clashed schedules with something else I was doing... I forget. Well, I'm looking forward to next year's, especially since there are promises that it will be better than this year's. ;D

Yeah, we were WTFing over that ref. My friend wanted to kick her into the pool and he wasn't even playing.

I hope that the event gets passed. I mean who doesn't like volleyball? And its going to be hot!

Last year, WE ran the damn game, and I got my nose broken it was so beautifully violent. This year that chick showed up and tried to ban any kind of physical contact. None of us were happy.

(We being me and the angry blonde guy with the beard who was on the, ahem, 6-foot-juggernaut's team. His name is Mark. *grin*)

So next year, please get a hold of us again. We didn't get blood in the pool or anything, I promise.

Last year, we used the life-preservers as goals and a small squishy water-ball that hurt like crazy when you got hit with it. That "referee" just sort of decided she was running the game and MADE US play with that ball. We had a proper one and she said no.

yea I remember last year you did use like a water ball to play with so it actually worked better and was more like a blitzball imo.
