Title: Spin the kuna solutions
Zeo - April 14, 2008 04:37 PM (GMT)
Since its dominating like 5 other topics, its an issue, let's discuss how to fix it.
It was fun, but admittly, esp to those on Sqaturday it was out of freaking control.(Again I was not part of it on Saturday, because I'm mature enough to know it)
so, we know its not appreciated by all to do it in the hallway, lets not dpo that afgain, it was not acceptable only because it was out of any kind of ontrol. however besides that and some people's offended morality, there's some serious issue.
Three things I saw that were VERY BAD.
1. VERY IMPROTANT!!! We do not ever, ever, run and tackle some one when wearing a sharp costume. If you are dressed as goth with spikes on or sharp props attached to you(IE other kunai, shirkens, Renji's relaeased sword, etc), you will hurt someone. Same geos if you have a 100pound cosplay suit on. Most of you, despite the excessive underage complaints, were over 16, you know better.
Number2. Biting. Who ever bit "sexy Sauske" should be ashamed of themselves, as not only did you assault her, and caused a huge scene, you also caused her to lose her enjoyment of thegame, and she was ahving the time of her life, AS WELL cause a "blood spill" which makes a lot more work for the hotel people. Being a vamp is fine, But you ASK first and you make sure no one else has clean up the mess. Technically you should rightfully get charged with assault and battery if you did it on purpose.
Number 3: if you are under 16, you should not be participating, and esp NOT posting the pictures of you doing so on freaking myspace. This opens up postitive proof agianst the con, the other players, and will hurt everyone in the long run.
So for next year, my proposition.
From 5 PM friday till the hentai Olympics start Run a Spin the Kunai room 16+ or 18+ and again Saturday from noon till the Rave. If some one that's 17 or 18 would like to manage a room for 13-16 I'll leave that to them.
You come in, you give me your ID, I kick you out if you're underage. If you are acting dangerously, or causing an issue, I kick you out.
As for cameras, DIGITAL ONLY
I will give out Ribbons, take a green ribbon if you are okay with getting your picture taken in general. A white ribbon if only with oppsite sex, and a RED ribbon for no pictures...If you take a picture of a red ribbom, I will make you delete the photo. If its a film camera, I Kick you out.
this sound good to everyone?
Phyxi - April 14, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
It sounds very logical to me. Did someone really bite SexySasuke  ?
Lothlin - April 14, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
I really approve of getting control on this. It does seem like it was a popular thing, and getting a hold on the crazier stuff involved would probably be a good idea. That way, it doesn't ruin anyone's fun in the future.
Details will probably have to be hammered out, but I definately think you should talk to programming staff about it and keep in touch, yeah? *shrugs* /myopinion

In almost every topic in this forum, its noted she got hurt, and she claims at least one person bit her. There was an accident too, but she was bleeding in more then one place.....
Human after all - April 14, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
It only takes one biter or person with lip fungus to ruin it for everyone.
KaiserMikeB - April 14, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
Ok, time for me to lay down some law and bust up some stupid.
There will be no "spin the kunai" room. Spin the kunai is fucking retarded. If you want some hot situations, go to the yaoi panel or the hentai olympics. If you want to kiss some cute girl, go to the dance and make a move on some. If you want to play spin the bottle all day, take it to a hotel room.
It was a lot of fun and pretty crazy for some people once, and that's all it will ever be. Spontaneous acts of stupidity are a lot of fun. Planning for it, waiting all year for it, building a cult like following around it is lame.
We are not interested in catering towards sexually frustrated 15 year olds, not the loser 19 year olds who want to get in on the action because they are too pathetic to date someone old enough to know what they are doing.
SAGE
Lothlin - April 14, 2008 05:18 PM (GMT)
Fair enough. Mike's word is law.
(I wonder, is there a way we could get Sage to actually work on the forums? That would certainly incite an epic method of thread control XD)
Zeo - April 14, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
Good then I don't have to waste my time moderating it.
KaiserMikeB - April 14, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
Yes, and in that extra time you can learn how to type in a way that makes people want to take you seriously.
PrettyPrincessHinata - April 14, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I hear someone bit her, that wasn't cool. I may have gotten a little rowdy myself, but I was not being violent. It was a fun game, and I'd like to see it continued next year, when I will be 17 and legal. :P

Oh so there's a typing panel now?
Hunter of the Sharingan - April 14, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
I think that this has gotten way out of hand, it was started by a 16 year old attendee and has somehow grown into the con version of a mass riot and slaughter, i think that since so much time and effort to control it/extinguish it has made it a lot bigger than it had to be. kids will be kids, teenagers will always find something that is not perfect or completely harmless to do. making an entire thread bent on the destruction or control of such a random event seems to be giving the game too much power than it had or needs to have. just drop it, and it will go away.

You should be able to learn to type on your own since, uhm, it's taught to 1st graders.

If you're here to be a douche, I suggest you stop and GTFO.
It's in curriculum, it's not a matter of whether a person needs it or not.
Zeo - April 14, 2008 08:09 PM (GMT)
ummn no? I got a personal attack from some one I responded, I got another from some one else, I responded.
And Honestly a lot of places didn't start typing till HS.

Spin the kunai.. There should be a video of it somewhere, I made a cameo a few moments before the circle split into two asking, "If two girls dressed as guys kiss, is it yaoi or yuri?"
GravityKills - April 14, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
Just to clear some things up: Yes, I was bitten a couple times. The last time was the worst, and I ended up having to keep a paper towel pressed to it, to stop the bleeding. But it's alright, really. I'm not offended or mad, or anything. I don't mind rough kissing, but please don't use teeth.
I only played spin-the-kunai that one time [the FIRST time, none-the-less]. And to be completely honest, the first time was pretty fun, and when I came back later to watch it....... it kinda lost it's touch. It seemed like the game lost it's luster after being played over 9000 times.
And with the way things were going, I don't really think spin-the-kunai should be an 'event' or anything. A LOT of the people in the circle were young - really young - and it seemed really wrong, in a way.
So anyway, I have to say that'd it'd just be fun, as a one-time thing.

Well it's good to know that you were okay after that happened. However, I dont believe that spin the kunai should be banned for life, let alone be that rowdy. Id still like to have it the next time I go to AP (This was my first AP), but keeping it appropriate (of course, some believe it is inappropriate period). But I also believe it shouldnt be something as big as an 'event'. Btw, will you be going to next year's AP? Me and some friends met you and forgot to get contact info.
