Just wondering if I will be the only one this year?

I'll be showing up as Masumi [a slight variation on one of his outfits...because sweater vests just aren't my thing :lol: ], and was wondering if there would be any other Nodame people to pester?

Our club SHOWS Nodame, but I'm not sure how many cosplayers it attracts. For some reason most cosplayers ignore normal clothes cosplays, even when they aren't skilled enough to accomplish the more ornate costumes they attempt.

I've noticed that people tend to not cosplay Nodame, sadly. It can be a great introduction to cosplay, while you are learning to make those more ornate costumes :D Me....I just love flamboyant characters with afros :lol:

It's because normal clothes cosplay tends to not get recognized much unless the cosplayer is in a group; even hardcore fans can miss stuff that looks like it can be bought off of a walmart clothing rack.

And really, it's a fact that most cosplayers love attention. Why else would we spend hundreds of dollars perfecting a skill that will, most likely, never serve us any practical purpose? Dressing up in something that isn't going to get us even a little attention, even if we LOVE the character, isn't that appealing.

Not that I don't agree that if a cosplayer lacks the skill, they should probably find something simpler. There are plenty of simple costumes that don't look like plainclothes.
