Title: Food....
Description: Where is some good food?

SilverBlaze - February 8, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
Okay, if we're staying at the Crown for the con in April....where is some good food within easy walking distance? We've never stayed in that area before....so some advice from those whom would know would be most appriciated.

Many thanks,
~Blaze

From what I remember, there's a Wendy's and a Thai Restaurant that are under a mile within the hotel. Then there's the hotel's restaurant.
If you go to the Crowne's website it'll tell you everything you want to know about anything that's close to the hotel.

I'll just spoon-feed ya, here we go...
Here's the page that says all the restaurants within a 5 mile distance.

There are two great thai places nearby. There is also a chinese place, a skyline, some burger place, something like a bob-evans, a waffel house, a highclass japanese place, mexican, indian, etc.

There is actually more food than you could imagine within 2 miles of that place, it is sort of unreal. There is also a grocery store very near the con, and a liqour store just down the street. On top of that, 161 is very long, and is chocked full of food the whole way down.

Unfortunately while a lot of it is in walking distance, it's a long walk (think ACen).
Fortunately, we have a deal with the hotel. They will be providing a shuttle on a schedule that will hit 4 or 5 drop points for the hungry otaku who don't have an easy ride.

The program guide will have a list of food in the area.

Are you guys going to do that con suite thing again where you've got food lying around? Or is that a staff/gopher only type thing?

Age doesn't really matter, it's more like reading the website and the forums and realizing we're not in any of the old hotels. Michael just has a great way of telling people to pay attention. <_<

When I was 17 I was staffing anime conventions, and had been driving to them since I was 15. Age means nothing, even 8 year olds can read, after all.

Remember, this is the college-age con. You're welcome to come if you're younger, but you're never allowed to use it as an excuse for your behavior, actions, attitudes, or ignorance.
