Fieldcon reg isn't even open yet, and things might be a bit different this year. Depending on certain factors, we may be instituting a physical fitness requirement, and possibly a pre-screening process as well.

I think that's a pretty good idea because it's always best to be safe not sorry, but I have to ask why. Were there any complications with peoples' physical conditions last year? I don't seem to remember any.

No semen sample should be required although I think we should reject those girls that fail to make us produce one within 60 seconds of seeing them :nyan: j/k .

Fieldcon isn't what you're used to, it is very intimate, and I am very caustic. If you can't discern legit insults from serious ones, then you really shouldn't come. You will get upset or pissed, and it will cause an incident, and the event in general will be unpleasant for all.

I'm considering inviting my friend Brian to Fieldcon this year. He is an Eagle scout (or whatever max rank boyscout is) which should be helpful since we're going camping, and I've known him for 15 years so I can vouch for his coolness but he is a cop. Well I can be reasonably sure of his ability to separate his role as a cop from his role as my friend (which is the one he would be going as during Fieldcon) I also appreciate the idea that inviting a cop to Fieldcon could be an idea of limited wisdom so I was wondering what everyone thinks should I invite him or not?

If he's going to ruin the fun for anyone, don't bring him.

I'm sure a lot of us know enough about taking care of ourselves in the wild.

I've gone camping bi-yearly since I was a newborn, I know that Mike has been a camp counselor at least once, and I'm sure we have several other experienced people. So it's not likely we DESPERATELY need an Eagle Scout Cop, who is likely to be far too stern and ruin fun.
