Title: Feildcon Location
Description: where is it going to be held?

kamon keronji - February 7, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
I was wondering where fieldcon is going to be held in 2008. I was hoping for this year it could be held in geneva hills or hocking hills state park since NOT once have I gotten to go. too much money in gas to get up there.

sesshouga - February 7, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
Well I'm not the one who organizes this but I think it would be kind of silly if Fieldcon changed it's already wonderful location just to get one more person to go. If you really want to go, you should save up your money or carpool with someone else.

kamon keronji - February 7, 2008 01:59 PM (GMT)
is it really that wonderful there? I have never been there.

and carpooling is a great idea BUT who would give me a ride if I got driven to osu?

amyloveyou87 - February 11, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
I could give you a ride, i am planning on going. But things mights change it is to soon to tell if i will make it. Right now i am going, but i could die or something.

Speedycat - February 11, 2008 05:45 AM (GMT)
Even though I'm not the authority on this, kamon, fieldcon WILL be held in the same location as previous fieldcons. Everyone says the place is wonderful, and it'd be troublesome to book a new place with people that don't know us.

Either be willing to travel to the con or don't go. O.o

You don't see me complaining that AP is a two hour drive away.. It's worth it, and fieldcon should be as well :3

rpb3000 - February 13, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
As much as I would love love love to have Fieldcon at Hocking Hills, to even consider it would cost us a lot more money (meaning higher reg rates! ick.), but even more importantly would cut down on what we can get away with. State parks can be pretty heavy-handed.

sesshouga - February 17, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
I think the current location is gorgeous and totally convenient for everything we do at Fieldcon.

Swordier - February 23, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
Yea, it'll be hard to get away with 14 people in/on a van speeding down a twisting road to go get firewood if were somewhere else. Plus the bonfire that is visible from low orbit is normally frowned upon at most camps.

Kamiokande - February 23, 2008 08:12 PM (GMT)
14? Oh shit. There were 15 when you started.

Miccy - February 23, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
Wait, we lost one?

I loved our van trip. I'm just not manly enough to go and chop wood. ;D

And I LOVE fieldcon's location. If you can't make it there...then you don't deserve to be there! >:0! Its what fieldcon is about!

Besides, they really like us there and are pleased to have us again this year. ^_^

Codi - February 24, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
Oh I *loved* the location~! It's like my fav part of it. I loved how you could hear the wild turkeys calling, and then how late at night fireflies came out. ^_^ It's just way too scenic to ever change.

I got that from the first post miccy! no need to get angry about it. I am going to stop posting things like this! People here can really rub it in. :(

sesshouga - February 25, 2008 03:21 AM (GMT)
Sorry, but that's what we're here for. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Plus, I know that when I'm "rubbing something in" to people, either it's because they're too stupid and arrogant to figure it out in the first place, or it's in good clean fun :P

Its ok I wasn't mad or anything. Its just I didn't expect everyone to pounce on me over it. It was some of the ways everyone commented on it. seemed that they were a little upset with me. I think I was being a little bit selfish when I first posted this thread. I was only thinking of myself and not anyone else.

I apologize everyone.

Seriously. I do love it too, and I like the wildness of it.

I wish we had a pool or something. :D

Codi - February 27, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
Well, there's that pond thing but.. ewwwww.

Jnkolm - February 28, 2008 05:45 AM (GMT)
I know not of this place, but I think when you use "thing" as an adjective to describe a noun, especially something like a pond, then something's up with the noun in question.

Is it like the green/brown/red/yellow lake that was behind my high school? Meaning that sure, you could take a dip in it, but afterwards you might want to swing by the hospital on your way home, as well as every day for about a week afterwards.

Plus, I think there were signs all over that said "NO SWIMMING IN POND!" or something like that.

Kamiokande - February 29, 2008 02:11 AM (GMT)
Did the signs say anything about eating the fish you catch in the pond?

sesshouga - February 29, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
No, I don't think so. I'm sure they're fair game :D

KaiserMikeB - February 29, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
probably need a fishing license though

sesshouga - February 29, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
Probably. Or we could catch them with our bare hands! >D

amyloveyou87 - March 1, 2008 04:03 PM (GMT)
We could go spear fishing.

Miccy - March 1, 2008 04:13 PM (GMT)
I can dig some SPEAR fishing. :D Should be an event.

We can make our OWN spears... and see who makes the best out of what they can find! :D

Then go fishing.

But yeah, that pond is really gross.

sesshouga - March 1, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
I wanna make spears! That sounds like an amazing idea!

Or we could use swords! XD

Kamiokande - March 1, 2008 06:18 PM (GMT)
They should make it so you don't need a license to catch fish with a sword.

Miccy - March 2, 2008 02:42 AM (GMT)
I'm digging the spear idea.

I shall plan something for this... :D OH!

sesshouga - March 2, 2008 02:59 AM (GMT)
We should make a game or a contest out of it.

Miccy - March 2, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
That was my idea.

KaiserMikeB - March 2, 2008 06:41 AM (GMT)
Is it still fishing if we are just killing the fish for no reason, rather than for food?

I wonder if they offer mindless slaughter licenses as an alternative to hunting/fishing ones?

sesshouga - March 2, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
I think we could still try to roast them over the open fire and eat them ^^

Miccy - March 2, 2008 03:43 PM (GMT)
I would eat some fish if we cooked it. Reminds me of the good ol' days with Paul and my mom. We used to go fishing and eat what we caught at home. ^^

rpb3000 - March 24, 2008 04:04 PM (GMT)
Even with a fishing license, the "pond" is reserved for "young anglers". However, I believe the huge-ass lake across the highway is available for everyone to fish in as long as you have your state license. No idea if they'd actually be checking for it or not *shrug*. Better to have it, it's not expensive.

Later in the year should equal warmer, so BRING ON THE WATER! Although I think bukkake would clog up squirt guns. Maybe bring turkey basters ^_^

amyloveyou87 - March 24, 2008 04:23 PM (GMT)
I would not mind just catching them then throwning them back.

Miccy - March 24, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
Doesn't that one shop, (the one that we get reg for the camping space) sell those? O.o I don't see why they wouldn't... but where would we get them? xD I could go fishing!

rpb3000 - March 25, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that bait & tackle shop in McConnelsville sells 'em; we could probably make a run there sometime if there's enough demand ^_^

Miccy - March 25, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Which reminds me.. xD WE NEED TO CALL THEM!!!

KaiserMikeB - March 25, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Do it NOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
