I have a MySpace because I get all of those stupid things and have no better way of communication with friends that move too far the hell away.

That said, I sometimes join groups and never ever visit them.

Hey why not, if it makes it easier for someone to tell a friend about the con, and people are having fun then it's all good.

If you want to do it, do it. Though I'm not sure how sending people an invite to a myspace that will only have minimal data (if it's even up to date) would be more useful than linking people to the well maintained and mostly accurate website.
