Title: I'm having a hard time with cosplay ideas. D:
sahkoo - January 10, 2008 11:53 AM (GMT)
I really want to cosplay for Anime Punch.
There is a costume I'm planning on getting made, but it's from Phoenix Wright, and I want to respect your rules.
So I'll be wearing it to a different con.
But I'm having a hard time trying to find an anime to cosplay from.
I'm sort of going to do Matt from Death Note /if/ my friend gets ahold of a wig for her cosplay, but my Matt costume is pretty much an actual shirt, actual jeans, Jrock goggular glasses, and stuff like that. x_x I do have a wig for it too.
But I really want to /make/ a costume, and do one not so typically cosplayed.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b60/ambe...pg?t=1199998382That's me if it helps. -._-.
KittyKomix - January 10, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
It's always good to see someone who considers the rules :3
Hmm, well are you wanting to cosplay a character that looks similar to you so maybe you don't have to do so much as far as a wig or other features go? If you're wanting something that isnt so mainstream as a cosplay, ..well.. what other animes do you really like?
Yuffie - January 10, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
Who from Phoenix Wright are you planning to cosplay? Might help to go from there.
Lothlin - January 10, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
Or, what are some anime you like?
sahkoo - January 10, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
The person from Phoenix Wright is Franziska von Karma. =P
And most of the anime I really like have gotten pretty mainstream. x_x
I was thinking maybe someone from Higurashi, but I don't know. D:
Lothlin - January 10, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
Meh, it's not always bad to cosplay something mainstream. Mainstream means you can actaully FIND people for photoshoots! (see, that's my curse, I pick obscure shit and then no one ever takes my picture!)
..Alas, I'm not very familier with Higurashi, so, I can't help you there :/. I will say, if you cosplayed from Gurren Lagann or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, the staff would love you ^_^
sahkoo - January 10, 2008 09:39 PM (GMT)
xD
Why would the staff love me if I did?

I took your picture!
Unfortunately, the camera on my phone absolutely sucks. I might have to get a digital camera before AP...
sahkoo - January 10, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Haha~.
I was curious as to what those anime were, so I started to watch Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
It's incredibly funny.
I love it. xDDD
Lothlin - January 10, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
The staff would love you because we love them!
Awesome, I managed to get another person addicted to the awesomess that is SZS! GO ME!
Rakuen - January 11, 2008 12:13 AM (GMT)
Damn, now I have to check it out and then in all likelihood end up placing it behind Seto no Hanayome in the queue.
sahkoo - January 11, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
Yeah.
My friend is about to get into it to. xD
She's coming over tomorrow, and I told her about and she thinks it sounds awesome. xDDD
I love the references to other anime and the writing on the blackboard. XD
Celeste_Orchid - January 11, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
I'm having a problem this year too.. sigh*
sahkoo - January 11, 2008 02:36 AM (GMT)
Well I hope we both have luck finding something to cosplay. : D
Ookami Yokai - January 11, 2008 03:02 AM (GMT)
You look like Riza Hawkeye, from Fullmetal Alchemist to me. Blue pants, combat boots, Rifle, and a tight black short sleeve turtleneck, and the skirt thingy.
KaiserMikeB - January 11, 2008 04:31 AM (GMT)
Hmm, you could do Rena from Higurashi, she's pretty adorable.
Celest, how is it hard for you to find a cosplay? You just need to find the hottest, bounciest, least dressed character and cosplay her! It has worked everytime so for!
I'll put some thought into it I guess.
Centaura - January 11, 2008 05:36 AM (GMT)
I see Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei is more popular with you guys than I thought. Excellent.
On the cosplay subject, one of these years I wish to do it, but I'm one of those people that have enough shame to NOT cosplay when I don't have the physique for any of the characters I enjoy.
Maybe next year...hahah.

Maybe.
What outfit though?
Her normal one?
KaiserMikeB - January 11, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Her white one is really adorable to me!

I might think of some more later.

Don't encourage anymore sexynojutsu cosplays. I have seen enough of those.
As far as cosplay reccomendations go, I suggest something easy to begin with such as something from Fruits Basket. I think you would make a cute Tohru if you got a wig and her outfits are pretty easy to make.
Dragonball also has some easy female characters and I think you would do a good 18 and you woudn't need a wig since her hair is very similar to yours.
xaktsuki - January 23, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
8DD I'm sorry but if you WERE Matt, that'd be awesome. I'm going as Mello and a friend as Near.

Gosh Mike, hand out my cosplay to everyone XD
It would be fun to have a twin! I'm wearing the dress Saturday.
Or, you could do Tabitha from Zero. Dye light blue and add some glasses. Her costume is fairly easy.
Celeste_Orchid - January 25, 2008 03:30 AM (GMT)
Wolf: LOL, I was planning that specific costume at some point but actually being covered by real clouds not a fake swimsuit and shorts bundle.
Mike: OMG you are horrible.. I'm semi covered! Not the least amount! I'm not running around in that Slayers outfit so I'm still decently covered. NYAH~ But you so hit the dot. I need to find a not so covered but covered and bouncy character to cosplay as... this is going to take a while. AND ITS NOT GOING TO BE MISA. Thats all ready covered. ((we love using the word covered... hahhahaa))
Sahkoo: Theres tons of blonde haired characters like Misa from Death Note, that one sister from He is my master, Eri from School Rumble, Ino from Naruto... and the list continues... lol.
Kamiokande - January 25, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
If sahkoo, Wolf (finally), and Celeste Orchid (again) wear costumes that leave them barely covered, I think that will help to make Anime Punch very enjoyable.

GASP... I can't help but think that could go wrong?

Wrong can be so very right though!
Actually, Celeste, you could kill many birds with one stone and be Yoko from Gurren Lagan.
decent pic here the main site has some smaller full body shots. right below the links for the characters is a link to the younger versions.
Edit: If no one is already planning a yoko cosplay that is. Though there are two versions, a young and a less young. Outfits are slightly different.
Anyway, from what I've seen of your past cosplays, she's right up your ally. Bouncy, lots of skin, stockings, which are always hot (who said that?) and a cool gun too if you like to carry props.
Plus, the staff would love you forever. Well, they'd love you MORE so :-P

Wrong... lets see... getting my picture taken at a bad angle where my naughties are exposed.. um.. like Janet Jackson... ANYWAYS
my friend is doing yoko... but i'll figure something out. thanks for the suggestion...
Joran: do u think i can commission you if I need it?
Joran - February 11, 2008 12:09 PM (GMT)
Is she doing the young or old version of yoko? You could be the young one since your so tiny and she'd be like your grown up version :P
Come as whoever you want though, your cosplays are always awesome whoever you show up as :) I'm almost never in costume, I've only got one
But sure, you could commission me, just point out a pic of your characters needed accessory and I'll see what I can do from there.

I'm going as Yamcha, aka that dude from Dragonball that gets his @** beaten by Bulma (which my friend will be cosplaying as, hopefully.)
Cutey Honey and Julia from Bebop I have considered doing but not for awhile. So. :P
KaiserMikeB - February 14, 2008 06:16 AM (GMT)
Dude, you have sweet taste in cosplay!
Hunter of the Sharingan - February 14, 2008 07:24 PM (GMT)
Yamcha was my favorite back in the day
Joran - February 15, 2008 01:57 AM (GMT)
Julia from bebop would be awsome. Freind of mine always wanted me to do spike, but that whole "can't sew" thing always gets in the way.

I tend to go toward stuff thats odd/obscure. Most of my stuff tends to be that way. (Robin, Anthy, Yamcha, etc). I think I only have one popular mainstream cosplay though.
Spike. There was a Spike at A and G. He told me he bought his suit and altered it. I'm sure you can do the same thing.
Sukotto-kun - February 15, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
I know this is kinda random, but I can't start a post, for some retarded reason:
Hey all, I just wanted to get the word out that I'm now taking prop commissions for conventions taking place in 2008. Here are some examples of my work. I have been working with wood and plastics for about 6 years now and have improved my skills exponentially since I began.
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?...albumId=1449765http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff44/Legacy_of_Madara/If you want something commissioned for you, PM me and I'll get back to you with all the info you'll need to place an order or just to make a decision.
Happy cosplaying everyone!
Lothlin - February 15, 2008 10:13 PM (GMT)
You can't start a thread until you've posted at least once; it cuts down on spamming and encourages people to introduce themselves in the thread meant for that! ^^
Sukotto-kun - February 16, 2008 01:36 PM (GMT)
Oh, OK, I guess that makes sense.
