Title: Authentic ramen stand
Vincent - January 9, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
I was figuring it would be neat if we could take one of the rooms and make it into like, an official ramen stand, and I don't mean package or cup, I mean REAL ramen, like actually cooked and whatnot.

Doesn't Colossalcon do that?
KaiserMikeB - January 10, 2008 01:31 AM (GMT)
I think they do cup ramen.
I talked to the hotel last year about adding Ramen to their menue for the weekend, but nothing came of it.
This year if they don't I'll see if we can. One of our top staffers and current head of con-suite makes some killer ramen, so we might serve it in the consuite, possibly at a cost.

Ah! yes it is an inspired idea. Much better then trying to cook packaged ramen in a small coffee pot.

I'm cool with the consuite charging for some stuff.
Although if it was set up apart from the consuite somehow then you could avoid catching any flack for charging for stuff at the consuite which there is bound to be.

I would buy the hell out of real ramen, consuite or not. Delicious.

What about udon?
Even instant udon is better than ramen ^__^ <3

Yeah, but ramen is cheaper. Still...
If we wanted to do a noodle café I'm sure the hotel would approve it as long as they got a cut of the money or whatever. And we didn't make a mess. Mess is always something to consider.
I really like the idea of getting a room and making a little café inside. Get some cute staffers to wear kimono and serve/cook in shifts--could be relaxing, or at least fun.
KaiserMikeB - March 7, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
The hotel has specifically said they are NOT cool with that.

I think that if the consuite did it, even at a small cost it would be profitable and most people would enjoy it. Because that's a real meal that you wouldn't have to leave the con for. It's really inconvenient having to leave for food.

Do I have to delete this topic to get the point across?
And selling food is right out, it would break real laws yo.

I get what you're saying. We can't do this, that sucks but its cool. We'll all move on.

It is probably the same as the convention center. since they have their own restaurant in the hotel They forbid selling food other than what they got in their
Restaurant.
