Misa is an infinitely cooler cosplay than L. L is the biggest cop-out, it's just normal clothes. Even if it's done really well it's like "who cares"

While Misa is far less cool of a character, at least she has interesting clothes

misa is a better choice to cosplay your right with the interesting clothes and such, but i like L personality. but im still going as misa

Me and a friend are going as Mello and Near. :lol: I shall eat chocolate and act bitchy all day!

Mello = win; eats obsessive amounts of chocolate all day and hangs out with people that play video games for a living.

Near = not so much win; is dressed like a ghost and is by far the most annoying character in my opinion (like those damn six-year olds that go to college because they're so smart).

So in other words, don't feel bad if you get more attention than your friend. In fact, I would rub it in your friend's face, but hey, that's just me.

Don't get me wrong when I say this, but, just out of curiosity, you haven't seen Near? Like, at all? Heh, perhaps that's the reason you don't see why I give Near not so much win. That, and I hate the fact that someone younger than me (by one year, which makes it worse) seems so much smarter. This is why I would get along with Mello a lot better.

And yes, I am mean, but in a fun way. If I ever say anything that you take as offensive, I'm just say what's on my mind, with little to no regard for political correctness (although, if you do take it as offensive, it's a hilarious side effect). After all, "politically correct" is just a synonym for "disfigured truth."

But yeah, in the wake of all that pretty much utterly pointless nonsense, have fun playing with your blocks.

While Misa is almost always made of awesome and win, I think it would be awesome to see Misa's supermodel friends get some love... Like.. all of them. It would definitely be a welcome angle on the ever popular Death Note cosplay *truth*.

Is that so? Nice. I used to construct elaborate Lego mazes and such along with my friends, complete with overly-thought-out-and-sometimes-even-functional booby traps and various other types of contraptions using the fairly scarce resources we had at our disposal. It was also fun.

Now, on the topic of Death Note, I've recently had the chance to see some of the anime, and I must say, like the fact that it sticks to the book's plotline, moreso than most animes do (save for the ending, which I know). Sure, like I've heard some people say, a couple of the voices could have been better in my opinion, but as reading in itself is 10% written detail and 90% imaginationed detail, that doesn't bug me much. The animation is done very nicely, as well. Overall, I am happy with it.

I might go as Light if i can find some others would would want to do photos with me.

Yeah.. in retrospect, it's not all that great an idea.. it was just one episode that they were in (I think it was 18 or 19.. I can't remember) and none of them got any specific recognition other than they all wore matching outfits and were friends with Misa. Aside from the fact that I doubt most of the gents at the con wouldn't be against it, it would probably make for a better non-con cosplay photoshoot.

I think our group is only comming friday night to saturday since we plan to go to Anime Central as well this year. If any of you went to Ohayocon we were the Death Note Skit"Ring around the Death Note". If there is a photoshoot I might bring my Wedding L cosplay with me.

I'm planning on doing a Misa all three days as my budget is sadly short and I already have most of her clothes. I'm planning on doing one with pants actually one day if it's cold. I'm so excited but I gotta order my wig soon. I've only ever cosplayed a blonde one other time so it will be strange to see me with that color hair again. I might have two L's with me and a Light.

I personally think Misa's a bit of a copout because so many of the people who "cosplay" her are actually just dressing up in the barfed up remains of a Hot Topic clearance sale, throwing on a terrible wig and get offended when people have no idea who they are supposed to be. If you actually do one of her outfits, well then THAT'S a cosplay. Sorry if I sound a bit bitchy, but I'm tired of people slaughtering Misa and expecting to be congratulated for it :angry:

What is L? Going to a thrift store and buying a white shirt and pants, then hoping you get the wig right (I've NEVER seen a good L wig in real life)
Almost all Death Note cosplay is closet cosplay, so you're only going to get 1 or 2 out of a hundred who actually put their heart and soul into the costume.

There was a really adorable Misa at Ohayocon that actually did a couple of her outfits which appeared in the manga, the wig I think has a lot to do with it. If it's neon yellow and looks like easter basket grass, it cheapens the whole thing. I believe hers was from a wig shop made of real hair though.

Was she wearing a black dress with black lace gloves walking around with a an awesome Ryuk and anothe rMisa with a white shirt red bow and striped stockings? If so Those were our groups misas our "wonder Misas".

I like doing variation cosplay it's a lot more fun. It's what gave brith to Wedding L. XD

This is true the wig has a ton to do with it. It's like the people that cosplay Sailor moon with the neon yellow wigs, kind of the same thing. I do agree with some of the other people though that Death Note is kind of a hard one to do for actually making the cosplays. I'm all for someone who puts there "heart and soul" into one but sometimes it's just fun to run around as a character at a con.

L's jeans are unfaded, his shirt looks more light gray than white, and the sleeves are longer than T-shirt sleeves.
