Title: Table Top Gaming for AP

The History Follower - December 12, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
Ok, time to get to planning for the con. What games does everyone want to play? I’m talking CCGs, RPGs, and basically anything else that isn’t a video game. My rule is that anime related games get priority over non-anime related one. Name a CCG for tournaments, free play, or to see demoed; suggest an adventure for a RPG session you’d like to play in; got a board game, a stand alone card game, a war-game, or something you want to play, ask and I’ll see if I can run or find someone who can. Of course you could always offer to run a game as well, I really encourage that.

Now for my list of games that I can run, or in some cases you can make and run:
Fruits Basket Card Game http://www.fruitsbasketcardgame.com/
Plushie Hero: game using toys to fight one another
Demon Tournament: homebrewed game based off the Adult Swim online game
Aniplexity: homebrewed anime version of Cineplexity
Apples to Ringos: same as above but for Apples to Apples
Cardcaptors Board Game
Are you a Ninja?/Do you have a Death Note?: anime versions of ‘Are you a Werewolf’ by Looney Labs, which is a werewolf version of Mafia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_%28game%29
Sailor Moon Button Men: http://www.randomdice.com/games/buttonmen/
Cho-han bakuchi: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cho-han_bakuchi
Pokemon Adventure Game Jr.: Really simple game
BESM Card Game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/BESM.html
Earth Defense Force: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/EDF.html
Naruto Ninjutsu card game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/NN.html
Sailor Moon card game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/SMoon.html
Speed Racer card game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/Speed.html
Star Blazers card game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/SBTQFI.html
Transformers Skirmish: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/TSK.html
Lupin III card game: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/Lupin.html
Magic Knight Rayearth card game:
Seven Samurai Skirmish: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/SBTQFI.html
Golden Axe: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/GAXE.html
Anime Punch the Board Game
Points of Articulation: war game used with moveable toys and two pages of rules
So far two Gundam model based war-games: http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/GTAK.html
http://home.earthlink.net/~lemontea/sitebu...r_in_action.pdf
two with Zoids models: http://home.earthlink.net/~lemontea/sitebu...zoid_battle.pdf
http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/Zoids.html

CCGs I can demo:
FMA CCG
Bleach Trading Card Game
Cardcaptors Trading Card Game
Gundam War CCG
Gundam M.S. War Trading Card Game
One Piece Collectible Card Game
Sailor Moon Collectible Card Game
Shaman King CCG
Yu Yu Hakusho Trading Card Game
Zatch Bell! The Card Battle

Also can demo these figure based games:
Navia Dratp
Transformers Attacktix
Shaman King CFG
Yu-Gi-Oh! DungeonDice Monsters

I wont even go into the number of RPG systems I could run. But feel free to request a game or two. Personally I'm looking for what kind of story everyone wants to play in rather than just system. I've broken it down so far into three types of games I suggest for the con:
1. Straight up RPing an anime. You play the characters from an anime and either play like a side story to it or replay a certain arc differently.
2. OC characters in an anime. You play new characters, but the world is set in an existineing anime. Like you play a different group of ninjas from Naruto, a couple of state alchemists from FMA, or a squad of Soul Reapers from Bleach.
3. No series but still anime feel. An orginial anime inspired world. Could be one spefic style or a bunch mixed together.

If you want to contact the con about running a game send all e-mails to gaming@animepunch.org include a description about the game, websites we could vist to review it, space needed, time needed, how many players, and any requests for when you want to run it.

My coming there this year is still up in the air, since transportation is my main problem this time...oh, and spending money. The convention and hotel is nothing. Anyway, I'd love to play one of the card games. My problem is that I have to literally see it and play it to get it. It's sort of like the Pokemon trading card game for the GB. I had to play it before I understood the rules. To be honest, I understood it better playing it "electronically" than manually. lol

I keep saying I want to try that Fruits Basket one, and I'd love to play the Sailor Moon one.

sesshouga - December 16, 2007 04:53 PM (GMT)
I love the Sailor Moon TCG! It's one of my favorites! Pokemon would probably have to be my all time favorite though. Yeah, I know. I'm not very original at all XD

Kuroshi - January 1, 2008 03:39 AM (GMT)
Dear god, Yu Yu Hakusho the card game. I miss that :(

Another game worth finding to play is Whack-a-Catgirl.

Also, we need games of Morton's List to occur. If I can make it to the con, I shall bring my copy with me to run some quests. :priest:

Yuffie - January 1, 2008 04:25 AM (GMT)
If there's a place for it, flux would be nice to have. I own a copy I'd be willing to lend.

The History Follower - January 1, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
Fluxx would be fun. I don't own a set, all I have is a Zombie Fluxx promo card and I could see if my brother will loan me his Japanese Fluxx cards. http://www.wunderland.com/LooneyLabs/Fluxx/

I put Whack-a-Catgirl on my Christmas list, but didn't get it. I want to play it though. If anyone else owns or buys a set let me know. http://games.asmadi.net/ourgames.php

We could try of a little Yu Yu Hakusho tourney. I'd like to try it myself.

Morton's List is not a game. It has mechanics for dealing with conflict, any sense of winner or loser, no story behind what you do, or anything that would qualifiey it as a game. Ofcourse I only nearly played it once at Origins, so that could be more to it. The point being Morton's List is not something that falls under table top gaming. http://www.mortonslist.com/

Aww. No Pokemon Master Trainer? http://images.boardgamegeek.com/images/pic6072_md.jpg

I have this game in my closet. xD

sesshouga - January 2, 2008 02:54 PM (GMT)
If you brought that, I'd totally play with you. I've always wanted to play that game but every time I went to buy it, it was sold out so I had to settle for the Pokemon memory match game instead. LAME!! D:

Kitty4777 - January 14, 2008 06:59 AM (GMT)
I heard ohayou con had an apples to apples tournament... that would be fun! xD

Last year, there was a fruits basket card game tournament... I was winning... right up until the point when a second player (who wasn't staff, or me...) joined (it was my friend who owned the game), and beat me. D:

It was signed, too!

Other games ...

Settlers of Catan (with expansions! :D)
Carcassone
Pit
Jenga
Risk
LOTR risk (....I have both editions...)
Guillotine
Ticket to Ride...

:)

The History Follower - January 14, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
Pokemon Master Trainer? I want to try this game out. Looks like a lot of fun.

Settlers of Catan, Pit, Risk, LOTR risk, and Guillotine I could probbally bring all these, but I'm realling looking for more anime related stuff. Don't mind haveing these but someone else will need to run them.

Oh and that Fruits Basket Card Game last year actually had me on the edge of my seat. It was so close right up there to the end.

Eldmor - February 3, 2008 11:53 AM (GMT)
I'd always be willing to be The Mayor for a game of Kobolds Ate My Baby!. People knowing all of the whacky rules beforehand would be a perk, for the love of Torg. ALL HAIL KING TORG!

:o I thought I was the only person with this game! I'd play it for hours on end with my friends (of course, we eventually made up our own rules to it). I've been looking for the sequels to it, but haven't had any luck. If someone brought it, I would definitely play! XD

bakaboy - February 12, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
My buds and I were wondering: anybody here play Yu-Gi-Oh? Hope theres a small demand for it, it be nice if there'd be a small tournie at AP, doesn't have to be too big, just a chance fer me and my buds to see if anybody else plays and how our decks stand.

vermillian - February 13, 2008 10:38 PM (GMT)
Some people, at the very least, myself, will be there with Universal Fighting System demos for some hot

STREET FIGHTER / SOUL CALIBUR / SAMURAI SHOWDOWN / KING OF FIGHTERS / DARKSTALKERS

collectable card game demoing and beat fest. Pick it up!

The History Follower - February 16, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
If you want to get in on the schedule and guarantee yourself a spot to play fill out the reg form and send it in to me. http://z9.invisionfree.com/Neo_Battle_Peas...?showtopic=1889

I'm working on the CCG tournaments right now so if you know a tournament organizer have them contact me soon, cause we are planning on running only so many. Sorry.

amyloveyou87 - February 16, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
I have pokemon monopoly

vermillian - February 18, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
Are the rules toned down to limit the time length of the game? The typical game legnth of monopoly being so much longer than my, or any kids attention spans is of interest to me, given its pokemon theme. :)

amyloveyou87 - February 18, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
lol i would not want to play it any ways, i would get bored. I think i am missing alot of the stuff anyways. But i would like to play the new Pokemon game. I rember hearing about it at origins, but it was like all 5 year old playing it.

The History Follower - February 18, 2008 11:33 PM (GMT)
Do you mean the new Pokemon Trading Figure Game. I'd like to have that. It looks pretty easy and quick to play.

Yea, it looks like alot of fun but i don't know where to buy it.

www.go-pokemon.com

Nice! the web sight has how to play demos.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pok%C3%A9mon_...ing_Figure_Game

That is really helpful too.

I really want this game to be there now, i really want to play it.

Yuffie - February 19, 2008 12:12 AM (GMT)
I have seen it for sale at:
Toys R Us
Target(looking in trading card section)
Bookstores...

Yeah, I own some figures from that. None of the starter kits though.

amyloveyou87 - February 19, 2008 12:17 AM (GMT)
What is the price like? for the figures?

Yuffie - February 19, 2008 12:21 AM (GMT)
That's the icky part.

You can look at $15-20 for the starter kit, 2 for $7, 4 for $20. But they look really, nice, so you don't feel like your money is wasted. It's just more, they're expensive.

amyloveyou87 - February 19, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
Cool, well i will have to buy some soon. I have allready been reading about all the ones thay have.

Drakitha - February 20, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
I know they're not anime related, but Killer Bunnies and Fluxx. Both awesome games.
