Title: Ohayocon
Yuffie - November 3, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
I'm probably really behind on things, but it seems Tiffany Grant is going to be guest at Ohayocon.
That's enough to make me come. ^^ I met her at Context and she is a lovely lady, was nice enough to sign my ds case for me. And I'm looking foreward to trying to track her down.
So, who is coming this year?
Lothlin - November 3, 2007 05:41 PM (GMT)
Wasn't she a guest last year too?
Anyway. You know I'm coming babe. Gah, I have to start my Harle cosplay pretty much as soon as Sugoi is over.... x.x
LittleNicoleLost - November 3, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Yuffie - November 4, 2007 05:26 PM (GMT)
Maybe? I wasn't really with things last year.
Yes, of course Lothlin. Though the other roomie is making bailing noises. >.<
Lothlin - November 4, 2007 08:28 PM (GMT)
Well, if she bails, and your mother doesn't mind, I probably have a friend who needs a room for Ohayo (Though, she may end up getting a room with someone else.)
I can ask her about it?
Yuffie - November 4, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
Sure. I probably won't know if she's gonna bail or not til december though. x.x
Lothlin - November 5, 2007 01:42 AM (GMT)
Fair enough. I'll tell her. (How would your mom be on having like one extra person if your friend didn't bail? I swear, the friend I'm thinking of is not a partyer. She's like me, much more apt to go dork it up in cosplay than drink and be stupid XD)
Yuffie - November 5, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
She's not willing to go beyond the legal limit I'm afraid. 4 is the max. x.x
Lothlin - November 5, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
Mishikotoko - November 5, 2007 03:47 PM (GMT)
I will be at Ohayocon 08.
I actually bought my plane ticket to go back home today. XD
EnishiYukishirolover - December 31, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
I'm going!! =] and more people coming with me...
Drakitha - December 31, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
sesshouga - January 1, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
I also can't wait! Everybody! Don't forget to go to the Haruhi panel and the "You Don't Know Dance" event on Friday night! XD
Rakuen - January 1, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
Joe's doing Con Dos and Don'ts, RPG, and Adult Swim panels. I'll be on those panels too. Unless Whose Line or Anime Hell are going on at the same time. Then you can probably expect no one to be there, because staff screwed up scheduling.
Of the three, I think RPG is going to go the best.
Lothlin - January 2, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Hahah, yeah. XD Miss Whose Line for those? Never!
(Though, I fear I may end up missing it for the masque x.x)
I'll have to show up for some of those, if I can.
KaiserMikeB - January 3, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
;_; a panel I was going to sit in on is opposite whose line censored
Rakuen - January 4, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
Who was the intelligent person that put Whose Line at 3~5 PM on FRIDAY? I'd like to know so I can punch a stake through his heart, because he's obviously of the undead. I know I shouldn't expect too terribly much from scheduling, but cutting out at least half the people that would want to see it is insane.
Yuffie - January 4, 2008 10:57 AM (GMT)
Trying to keep out the schoolchildren. =p
kamon keronji - January 4, 2008 11:24 PM (GMT)
I am so freakin jealous!! I can only come saturday. I couldn't get a room and my mom won't let me share one with 5 people. might come on sunday too....maybe. see you all there tomorrows.
Yuffie - January 6, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
I had a really good time this year. Sat at my table, sold a good deal of my stuff. I didn't have a very good location. But I met a lot of people, and for me that was the best part. I didn't see much of con.
I actually went to a panal, even though it was just everyone sitting around the doing crafts and talking about it. I met the girl in the AA who did the really complex knitting, who amazingly was only a year older then me. It was during that I also had some people running my AA table who were really obnoxious, pushing what was for sale past the point I would have thought okay. So anyone who put up with them, I'm really sorry.
I really enjoyed seeing the cosplays this year, a lot of them really impressed me. There was a cute Gumshoe cosplayer on Friday who blew my mind with his, but overall it was amazing stuff.
The pokemon tournment was a joke at best though.
Codi - January 6, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
What are you talking about, your location was prime. Not everyone wants to head up and browse through the AA, but most everyone has to go through that hall to get to somewhere, be it main, panels, or the con center itsself.
Yuffie - January 7, 2008 12:50 AM (GMT)
You'd think that but most everyone coming through had just come out of the dealer's room, or was hurrying off and just didn't seem interested in spending money down there, which after the dealer's room you typically don't. It was definitely a prime spot for socializing, but not selling.
Although some of the fault is mine, I didn't work very hard to get attention and I felt stuck with a -6 on my charisma.
Though all the little kids who were going to the other con were trying to get there parents to buy my stuff.

apparently there was a family emergency for the guy who was going to run it? that's what was posted on ohayocon's forums
I wasn't at the con much (had to work saturday and sunday) and the only thing I was really going for was DDR; that ended up being interesting at the very least, hahaha

Where were you sitting? I ran through AA several times and never saw you. :(
In other news, my Ohayocon pictures will be posted up in the near future. I took lots of pictures of the AP group Sunday.
Yuffie - January 7, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
That would explain why it was so bad, but still that level of incompetence makes me upset.
I was on the second floor near information. My table was covered with pokemon fabric.
Rakuen - January 7, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
And my crappy camera phone pictures are done.
Ker-link
kamon keronji - January 14, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
the weekend was fun! I got to go saturday and sunday. I even got a naruto messenger bag for $10.00 instead of $25.00 for helping (classified) tear down his booth, packing it up and taking it to the truck.
Jnkolm - January 14, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)
I successfully completed going to Ohayocon without complaining a lot. Except for scheduling, which didn't affect me a whole lot but it did merit making fun of.
Other then that, nothing of note to report on my side. Other than the bees, but Squad 7 is certain that things are coming to a conclusion there.
Yuffie - January 14, 2008 11:08 PM (GMT)
I have to ask, did anyone see the Alvis cosplayer? She was really cute.
TheRabbit - January 16, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
I had a lot of fun at Ohayocon (although it was different from my normal sort of conning fun, as I was on staff.) The universe seemed to be against me, though. I must have managed to incur some kind of wicked karmic debt at some point, because Greyhound lost my luggage, I managed to twist my bad ankle (broke it a couple years back...makes for great fun..) and a bunch of silly random things...I think I may have to bring good luck charms or something next year..
Hunter of the Sharingan - February 17, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
does anyone remember the ANBU going around with kankoro doing the soulja boy?
amyloveyou87 - April 1, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
