Title: I hate fabric......
Description: Can I have some money??

I don't know about you but fabric seems to be getting really expensive. They have tons of sales but the regular price on some of thee fabrics seem to be at $20 or so. I came back from Johann Fabrics, spending over $40 on just maybe 7 or 8 yards, including patters. Holy shit! That was like my allowance. Too bad I don't have my job anymore. :doubledeuce:

To help you out a little, you should try the back of the store. The quilting supplies ya know? The quilting fabric is much cheaper than the clothing fabric and in my opinion, it works just as well. Also, you'd be surprised at what you can find on clearance. Wal-Mart also sells fabric. They don't have a huge selection, but if you need something simple, they've probably got it and at a discounted price too!

Thank you, usually the cotton is really cheap, just around $2 a yard so I bought a lot of that. I'll go to Wal-Mart tomorrow and see what they have.

Unfortunately, cotton doesn't work for everything; I'm going to need to buy some fabric that's 14.95 a yard, and nothing cheaper will work and still look good ><. Time to look for coupons!

I'm buying fabric thats $8 a yard which isn't half bad but I need 5 or 6 yards of it x_O Horray for lack of money! XD At least its freakin cheaper than what my nina costume was. $75 and this one (yuki) is $45. Haha I'm smart X3 (calculator heh)

on www.joanns.com they show the sale times of local stores, you should really avoid any onther day but sale days ^_^ i spend over 100 each vist.....so i so get it. Also try some walmarts...a few of them still have fabric (none of the new ones) but the one near westland mall does.

Anyone know what store sells fleece the cheapest? i'm making hats this year and Its only about 2.50 a yard a t joe ann's. I thought that was pretty good, but i dont have time to run around pricing differant places. If you guys have any idea what normal prices are at differant places (wallmart, hobby lobby, michales, ect.) it would really help me out.

I would say that Wal*Mart or JoAnne's is probably your best bet. If it's not cheaper at Wal*Mart, then JoAnne's price of $2.50 per yard actually isn't that bad. Just make sure to also look for quality too. You don't want to spend money on crap XD

I do know, we got a whole heap of fleece at JoAnn's last weekend and it was 50% off. That's DAMN cheap, in my opinion- fleece, good fleece at least, isn't one of the cheaper fabrics to buy.

One more question about fleece, cause i'm a total n00b at making the hats. Whats "anti-pill flecce"? I've heard about it, but i have no clue what it is, or how its differant from regular fleece.

You know those little knotted balls of fluff that you'll sometimes gets on shirts? I think it means it prevents the fleece from doing that. I'm like, 99% sure of this.

Hm, yeah that makes sence. Do you think it would be more expensive or about the same as normal fleece?
sesshouga - October 7, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
I'm not 100% positive, but I bet it'd be a little more expensive. Probably worth it though.

Good god, i just went to my local Jo Ann's. Its 7.00 a yard! o.o and thats just the plain solid colors too. I never imagened it would be that expensive.
