Title: Music

Kaisermikeb - August 9, 2005 07:53 PM (GMT)
I want to have a concert at AP with at least three bands. They would all have to play anime and videogame music as a rockband, but I'm not too concerned with the particular style, as long as they are good and will keep enough energy in the room to raise the entropy of the universe significantly!

My request is that we get a band together to cover Beck (the anime). Possibly just to do the Mongolian Chop Squad songs (Face, Slip Out, Typhoon 24, etc.) and then maybe add in Moon on the Water and Follow Me. It would be really cool if they started with "I've got a Feeling" and play it like they did at Grateful Sound*.

Any ideas/ thoughs/ suggestions?

* For those of you who havn't seen it, this is possibly the coolest scene I've seen in years. The band is at their biggest gig ever, but hours before they take stage they break up. No one wants to break up, but it is inevitable and nothing can change that. Half the band goes missing, and the other three are being depressed and about to leave when Koyuki wants to give SOMETHING to all their fans who came out to see them and are waiting in the rain. He borrows Jewels guitar to go out and play one last song. It feels like the Beatles concert on top of their studio, like he knows he's going out, but he at least wants to go down playing.
Alone he takes the stage, playing some old song (cited as being the beatles). Practically in tears he just keeps playing, going in circles. Then The drummer joins in, and then bassist. Still they just keep playing, going no where with it, but with each addition, the song builds. In the process the sound changes from that of an old Beatles song, into a hot blooded Rollingstones-like song, and finally into a powerful The Who-type song. Eventually all the members of the band are there, together playing their last concert. As their intensity builds, so does the audience. The band plays all out, and leave the thousands who came to see them wanting an encore, which they do not give.
I know this sounds dumb, but it moved me!

IT'S NOT THE FUCKIKNG BLITZBALL THEME! IT'S JECHT'S THEME SONG! GET IT RIGHT, BITCHES! *Has very strong feelings for this misconception.*

Ouch somebody got told. Point for Cloud. haha.

But no seriously I can vouch Sixpod's band is good. Even gonna have the band members cosplay a bit. It'll be cool. :D

calm down there cloud. I put blitzball theme in parenthesees because the people that do not follow that game too much, have a clue on what song I'm talking about.

anyway... no big deal,
if anyone would like to hear an original song with music to the anime "Big O" then click this...
"Find My Way" by: Somatic Down song: Hush

For anyone that goes to sugoi, ikasu, etc...
Why don't you try to get ahold of AJ and his crew?

He's never said no before. He loves to DJ.

I can get ahold of him, if you'd like.

Kaisermikeb - August 12, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)

sixpod - August 14, 2005 04:05 PM (GMT)
did anyone check out how crappy that song/vid was? lol. sorry just wondering.

RBGCloud - August 15, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
I think we should definitly invite Piano Squall.

Kaisermikeb - August 15, 2005 05:32 AM (GMT)
If any of you know Piano Squall on any level, could you invite him?

As for the music you seem to have a decent command of your instruments, though I would have to hear you guys playing anime music as I'm not a big fan of that genre, also the recording sucked. I could go harsher if you like, but I don't think you're decent enough that I don't have to!

sixpod - August 15, 2005 01:15 PM (GMT)
that's all i needed to know. lol.
i told you the recording wasn't very good though.
and i'll send you some more stuff as soon as I can get it recorded.

and we've already been through this...
piano squall is at tekko that weekend. so unless he wants to pull a double con he's probably out of the ? .

inuyasha_goth - August 16, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
get the pillows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kuroshi - August 28, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
Oh yes, and while we're at it, get Yuki Kajiura and See-Saw... :P

Ameria - August 28, 2005 06:02 AM (GMT)
It's not official that Piano Squall's going to Tekko. As a matter of fact, I heard from the person in charge of getting guests that they might go in another direction music-wise, so it's still a possibility.

Also, I love the Beck idea. That's so weird, because I've been listening to the songs from the Keith OST for the last hour. Makes me wish I could play guitar/drums and pull off a convincing crossplay. XD But hey, if you need a Maho, I really want to make that 'Jesus is coming' outfit from the opening credits.

Kaisermikeb - August 28, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
It is a possibility! You would only have to sing Follow Me and possibly play a Bass. Our current Maho is my ex, and so depending on the week she's either all about comming, or is completely un-contactable.
