Title: Fantasic Four

Yuffie - June 10, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
I'm curious, did anyone else watch the Fantasic Four on CN?

Of course I'd watch it, despite quality, Johnny Storm is my favorite marvel hero.

Vincent - June 12, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
Johnny Blaze is cooler.

Yuffie - June 12, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
Johnny Blaze? Hell no! Cooler name maybe, nice motorcycle maybe but that's about it.

Vincent - June 12, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
He burns peoples souls! What isn't cool about that?! He has a chain! And a flaming skull for a head! Everything about him oozes awesomeness!

Oh god who am I kidding? Norrin Radd owns them all. =\

Good point. I prefer Ultimate Johnny Storm to classic Marvel though. Still you kids seem to neglect the Ultimates, any multiverse realm version of Captain America(I prefer the conservative Ultimate Cap), Deadpool, Squirrel Girl, Hell all the Great Lakes Champions, D-man, Ironman, War Machine, Daredevil, The Punisher all of them are cooler than Ghost Rider. There are many others cooler than GR and thats without leaving Marvel. If I get into talking about Astro City or Watchmen............well don't get me started.

Also Yuffie what FF are you talking about? I don't have cable. Is it that recent animated series or the old skool cartoon or did they show that mediocre live action flick?

Yuffie - June 12, 2007 11:58 PM (GMT)
Actually, the flaming skull is a bit of a put down for me. Being an impressionable teenage girl and all.

Now I want to find Ultamite Johnny Storm to see how he compares. Blah.

It was the recent animated series.

Well, myself, I have read some of Ultamite Spidey and am starting on Daredevil. I don't tend to neglect in a kid sort of way. Two of my friends are really big into the comics, and my cousin, although next to them I'm not much of a fan. My friend Amy and I were actually taunting each other for having comics the other wanted to read checked out from the library last time I was there.

When you think about it, other universe superheros could beat Marvel, but I like Marvel better...

I'm curious now Smokie, by any chance did you read Truth: Red White and Black? Captain America relation.

I'm hoping that with The Rise of the Silver Surfer there will be a Johnny Storm poster avaible in stores, I'd like one for my room.

Vincent - June 13, 2007 01:34 AM (GMT)
Iron Man beat Captain America in the Civil War. So it's all good.

I have noticed from many trips to the library girls seem to rarely check out or even look at comics. In my local library the comics and manga are in the same section the teen/young adult area and all girls ever seem to read is manga. Astro City, Marvels, Ultimate X-men, Ultimate Spidey, even Runaways and these freshmen chicks pick up Inuyasha. It pains me. I just want to yell at them.

Yeah I'm a Marvel fanboy. I would pick Marvel over DC any day.

Nope didn't read it. Last Cap related thing I read was Captain America Red, White and Blue. It was pretty good. We get to see Cap as a pimp and the Red Skull and Baron Zemo team up to attack Paris........super deformed style!

Yuffie - June 13, 2007 11:17 AM (GMT)
My library does the same thing, although there is an adult section, a teen section, and a kiddy section, although the difference between adult and teen is very thin.

Give them time Smokie, give them time.

Are you talking about Dayton Metro? Love that library.

You should read Truth, it's worth it. A black Captain America!

smokie - June 13, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
No Yuffie I don't go to Dayton Metro. I primarily use the Greene County Public Library mainly my hometown branch in scenic downtown Fairborn. Thats also where the comic book, tabletop/trading card/miniture gaming, and model kit shops are located. Its my own mini Akihabara.

I don't know if giving them time will help Yuffie. I don't know if I should go with the yelling and throwing Ultimate X-men trade paperbacks at that them or gutting a Megatokyo volume and sticking Runaways inside.

I'll have to keep a lookout for Truth. Thanks for the headsup.

Kag-ST - June 13, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
I find superheroes silly.

Heretic! Lets see you say that with Wolverines claws in your eye sockets. The only silly super hero was Gohan when he did that Great Saiyaman shit. Pretty much every other hero is cool.

Yuffie - June 13, 2007 09:00 PM (GMT)
That's too bad.

Daredevil sucks ass. Wolverine is the most badassest.

Anybody read that Evil Dead vs. Marvel Zombies? I just found those and i'm gunna pick all of them up soon.

Halo has a new mini series coming up that takes place between 2 and 3. I'm gunna get that. :domo:

When Miller handled DD back in the 80s that shit was awesome. Wolverine while cool is overused.

Yeah Army of Darkness vs. Marvel Zombies looked sweet from what I saw of it but I didn't pick up and individual issues I'm waiting for the trade paperback.

Ah yes Halo Uprising I look forward to it. Its only 4 issues but hey thats like a summer trip to the beach with the MC. I hope Sarge makes a few memorable apperances in the comic because God knows he made the Graphic Novel.
