Possibly a hoax? To be honest it would not surprise me if its real and it would not surprise me if its a hoax.
Smelled of BS when I read the first story... Sheep may not be that common but dogs are common and people are going to notice the 'dogs' have hooves, eat grass, and baas instead of barking. People are stupid, but not that stupid as to mistake an ungulate for a dog.
