Title: The truth about Radical Edward

Batou19539 - February 28, 2005 02:24 AM (GMT)
Many will agree, and many will want to have me commited, but I believe that Ed from Cowboy Bebop grows up to be Haruko Haruharu, the star of FLCL, and if any one has any theories, or useful knowlege that could help me in my quest to prove it, than please let me hear it.

Mikepower9 - February 28, 2005 05:26 AM (GMT)
Mike continues to disagree

Pedos will agree, girls will disagree, but I beleive that Misao Amano from BPS is supposed to be the same Misao Amano from Pretty Sammy!! Blue hair, same name... it's all too much!

Batou19539 - March 1, 2005 05:33 PM (GMT)
Thats actually not surprising. While we're on the subject, the cover chick on Battle Vixens V.2, looks like a busty Excel, from Excel Saga, Wandaba, from Wandabe Style, looks like He's kin to Nabashin, and the little white critter from D.N.Angle looks like Ryo-ohki, from Tenchi Muyo. But we don't care about that, or at least I don't. You bring in another example of crossover characters. Perhaps you could turn that into a fanfic, or a parody, or something. I, aside from trying to prove that Ed really grows up to be Haruko, am formulating such a story, on for which to make sense and believability out of such a radical theory.

Paranoid Android - March 1, 2005 05:34 PM (GMT)
What the fuck? So... Radical Ed grows up to be... an Rickenbacker wielding alien from outer space?

Granted, the character's personalities are very similar, but that's a stretch.

I figured when Ed would grow up, she'd just sit around playing a lot of video games. Then she'd get bored, and get married or something. Not out of love, but boredom. Then more video games.

Then she'd become President.

Batou19539 - March 1, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Perhaps if she maintained a shetered, safe life like she did on the Bebop, but isn't the real stretch, to think that, while wondering the galaxy, going wherever her mood took her, that she would be forever unscathed by the universal corruption an worldly dangers of society, as she drifted, without home, or destination, unseen, on the streets. What would become of that super-intelligent, but undeniably
derranged, animation defying girl, were she to fall subject to that corruption, as she grew older, and stronger, able to defy animation even further. When you compare them physicaly, and psychologically, and consider that, where Cowboy Bebop left Ed, the circumstances would be all to easy, it seems almost inevitable, her destiny to become Haruko.

Mikepower9 - March 2, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
I would say something about time, but clearly Ed would find a way to manipulate that...

I always kinda figured Ed would electricute herself to death, or wander into the wrong part of town and end up on some web-cam freak show until she died. I mean, it almost happened in the movie, luckily she was a girl not a boy. But seriously, we all know she is just going to wander off a cliff or something. She has survived as long as she has by being a little kid that people shelter, but she is getting older now, and after 11 or 12, people won't just look after her anymore, she will have to fend for herself without generous handouts, and I don't think she has the streetwise to do it.

That being said

Sayoko from Melody of Oblivion is totally Haruko, and Koko is Mamimi!
Sayoko likes motorbikes, hangs with a tough crowd, ignores the law, and has goggles and chains that react to the guy she is chasing.
Koko is homeless, uses a big robot things to protect herself, is out of touch with reality, and plays like she is a cat.

(this is just way too easy!)

rpb3000 - June 14, 2005 12:10 PM (GMT)
Ooh, Ed is Haruko? I like this theory. Dunno how feasible it is, but I like it. I wanna read the fanfiction that makes it happen.

Oh yeah, hi, I'm Rail the Elf. Registered Lurker extroardinaire. Or maybe not, since now I'm actually posting... Some of you may know me already as the strange one who sometimes shows up to Animate stuff, distracting the officers and never paying attention. Unless there are more than one of us. Reverof Emina!

Batou19539 - July 29, 2005 08:11 PM (GMT)
You're the first person to say that, since I posted the topic. I am actually working on producing more evidence, and will post some shortly.

As for the fan fic you mentioned, I am formulating it, and already have many scenes and concepts in developement, but between going back to school, and balancing countless other oridinal stories which I hope can help get me into manga, the best I can do for now is give it a good place on the proverbial shelf.

MalkavianPranks - July 31, 2005 08:26 AM (GMT)
Not to copy or anything but I think this does sound a little interesting and worthy to read and see how the thesis would work.

Batou19539 - July 31, 2005 08:22 PM (GMT)
Yippee! Now there are to people whobelive in me! As I said before, I have it an the back burner. I think I should warn you two though, taking sweet, innocent, petorific Ed, to the twisted and dark semi-villanous Haruko will be a gritty, hard journey.

Kind of like Star Wars: Episode ll and lll, but with an ending thats both really heroic and kind of tragic or something. You guys can imagine, I'm sure.

By the way, for the record, I'm not a pedo or anything, just using that as an analogy. Seriously, anyone want to say that Ed isn't like' ultimate pedo bait?

Kaisermikeb - August 1, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
eh... In my educated opinion, I would have to say that Ed is infact not pedo bait, although the cowboy bebop movie does suggest she would be, were she a he.

As for your other thing, I'm getting the impression that you should A) put your other projects aside first to make way for the ed thing, and B) write out a thesis before you write a fanfic about it.

Batou19539 - August 1, 2005 03:53 AM (GMT)
Good idea man, and thanks for the constant support, especialy with our e-mailing. I actually have the underlining concepts for about a forth of the story itself, but its really just a rough draft, magazine preview kind of thing.

Anyway, I'm glad that you seem to want it, or mabey you just want me to write it, and shut up about it. lol

When it is a fanfic though, I will still have to find a place th post it. Any suggestions?

Batou19539 - August 7, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Y'know, I just remembered, I was supposed to post that evidence wasn't I?

Sorry, I'll try and do that soon.

Obsidian Rose - August 9, 2005 03:56 PM (GMT)
I totally agree with you, stranger. I am a "man" of science so why don't I try and help you find some evidence to support your theory, we can be a team like Eva Bruan and Hitler...ok, bad analogy ( I totally stole that from Family Guy). Maybe more like Kite and Black Rose from .Hack, yeah, thats a better one. Then our names will be synonomous with dookie!

Batou19539 - August 9, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
Thanks "stranger", cough: close friend of mine, cough. Although considering that Kite and Black Rose were male and female, a better comparison might be something like Jet and Spike, or Vash and Wolfwood, or, say, Yuya and Tatsukichi.
No, wait, I got it, Beast Boy and Cyborg!!

Anyway, about the evidence I've offered, I am finally going to post it.

Watching Bebop, and Fooly Cooly, I have noticed many unique vocal habits and traits shated by both Edward and Haruko. For example, such tendecies to randomly rhyme in an excessivly whimsical, and oddly simlar fassion.

EX: Ed: Hotdog bun! Not to young! Oldy Moldy! History Mistory!
Haruko: Vacation! Alienation! Manga! Kanga! Naked lunch! Hawaiian punch!
Ed: Bonsai bathtoy! Wiseguy waterboy! Light shines bright in the ol' town tonight!

(I apologize, but there was only one from Haruko. C'mon its a six episode series!)

Kaisermikeb - August 9, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)
Is that all you have? I'm dissappointed

Batou19539 - August 9, 2005 10:16 PM (GMT)
What are you talking about Mike, YOU TOLD ME TO POST IT!!!

Batou19539 - August 9, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
And before anyone corrects me, I no I misquote Haruko, skipping Japanimation, and going from Alienation to Manga kanga. I'm very sorry.

Kaisermikeb - August 9, 2005 11:29 PM (GMT)
I thought you would have more by now! If anything you have less than when you originally made these allegations!

Batou19539 - August 10, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
Really? I save all the e-mails that have to do with that, so I'll go back and check. And to somewhat credit you, I really don't have that much yet, and evidence to suport this little mindbender only comes through in little key traces, and is usually pretty subtle.

Kaisermikeb - August 11, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
Also, Haruko rhymes stuff in Episode 4 I think... when they're playing Airsoft

Batou19539 - August 11, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
I don't remember, but I'll check on it after school tomarrow. Anyway, as for having more evidence than I posted on the board, I didn't leave anything out of my recent e-mail, so you must be either mistaken, or talking about something I said a long time ago, in which case I will search deeper.

In any case, I think that from now on, I should hold all evidence until I have an organized thesis to incorparate it into. That should also keep mix-ups like this from happening. I apologise for my sloppieness by the way, I seem to suck at collecting data for a thesis or something. Luckily, one of my new classes covers stuff like that.

Batou19539 - August 27, 2005 02:00 AM (GMT)
Hey Mike, and anyone else who might have checked this recently, sorry I havn't been on, but I've been really busy. I have to go back and study Bebop for theory details, but I'm finally bumming them off a friend, so the time of fanfiction is drawing slightly closer.

I also devised a thesis about the way N.O. works, which is kind of interesting, even though it really doesn't have anything to do with my imediate theory.

Kaisermikeb - August 27, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
We know how N.O. works!

Either way, I'd like to see the bebop stuff soon!

Batou19539 - August 27, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
Of course you know how N.O. works, everyone does. It channels energy through select brains, and can be used to transport stuff, I'm talking about what else it can do, and what other functions it has.

Batou19539 - February 24, 2006 04:27 AM (GMT)
Gaaaaahhhhh!!!!! I got caught up in the toils of everyday life, and strayed from th presious NBP board, but now I'm back with a vengence! Oh yeah! I'm real close, Mike! This town needs an enima, (blows noise maker, breeeet, breeeet)! And this website needs a fanfic page! "Fooly Cooly Blues" Blues is COMING SOON!!!!!!!! :uzi: :takeout: :sniper:

Craig - February 24, 2006 06:48 AM (GMT)
The truth is we're going to Vegas to croak a scag baron named Savage Henry. I've known him for years but he ripped us off -- and you know what that means, right? Savage Henry has cashed his check! We're going to rip his lungs out!

And eat them! That bastard won't get away with this! What's going on in this country when a scum sucker like that can get away with sandbagging a Doctor of Journalism?

EDIT: I finally read two posts in this thread and simply wanted to say...friends don't let friends read/write fanfiction. If you have a Friend who reads/writes Fanfiction, slap them immediately.

Batou19539 - February 27, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
