Title: Are you serious?
Description: You're kidding me?

saturn - April 4, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
You got to be kidding me on this?

Go ahead and delete this but this better be 10 times better than last year for me to come?

Like Anime...(generator and Night showing on a screen like a movie drive in would be great!)
Real food... (I suggest everyone buys their own and brings it)
Real games...(more like capture the flag would be great, that was fun last year)

Like Anime...

yeah...

Mahahaha!

Kaisermikeb - April 4, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
Knowing us it will be exactly the same as last year, so I guess maybe don't come?

Any no, we're not going to bring food for people this year because APPARENTLY not everyone is ok with my diet or Ramen and Spaghetti-O's for an entire weekend!

Probably won't have anime for the watching, that's now what this weekend is about!

Lothlin - April 4, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Personally, I'm all about the ramen and spagetti-os! Chopsticks are easy to clean XD

+1.

Nothing says "roughing it" quite like canned noodles and soup.

Codi - April 4, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
I'm thinking as long as noone tries to do Jiffy Pop over a campfire, I'll eat anything.
(it's happened. It was a Great Moment in Stupidity.)

Grawr, I want a date though, so I can figure out if I can come or not.

smokie - April 4, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
How can in be an outdoor anime con if you don't even show any anime? All gaming action would be reduced to DS and the DS isn't so robust as to be meant for camping.

Miccy - April 4, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Sarah, I understand why you wouldn't want to come this year, [besides when I got you to show your lovely boobs...]

Well, I had a great time, especially since it was more of an Ottaku camp thing. It wasn't more of an Anime Con, as much as a friendly camping trip with the same type of people that actually attend cons. :]

It's hard to do a lot of anime related things in certain areas like the place we were at. It's very limited.

What's camping with TV anyway?

smokie - April 5, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
I want to go to Fieldcon now because there is supposed to be some horseback riding thing going on at the same time. Just imagine a drunken Link cosplayer stealing a horse and tearing through the camp yelling "Yee Haw! ride em Epona!" or a drunken Harvest Moon fan takes a hairbrush trys to brush a horse gets kicked has a concussion.

Still I don't know how you can call it an anime con if there is no anime. Note the Fieldcon page does say its an anime con.

That gripe aside I have a suggestion. Otaku in Japan are know to be pretty airsoft Gung Ho as seen in Otaku No Video so does anybody know how exactly they do their airsoft battles? What rules they have or anything? Cause I think an airsoft battle could be pretty cool for this con. Maybe even an airsoft CTF so its like some LARP FPS.

Also maybe have some official DS tournament for high scores in mini games and stuff.

Yay for DS.

I'm sure we'll work on that aspect.

Lothlin - April 5, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)
I have a thought, and this is going to sound SO BLOODY DORKY, but if we can't show anime, we could like.. act out anime!

Dramatic battles! Acting! Amazing Shinji-esque screaming skills! Which, honestly, would probably devolve into us poking sticks at each other and mud wrestling, but hey, it would all be in good fun.

...there is no way in hell I'm bringing costumes to this con XD

Kaisermikeb - April 5, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Paintball would also be cool.

Lothlin - April 5, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
Or Nerf, since I totally don't have a paintball gun. Or maybe a shit ton of water balloons.

...WAIT! I propose a weekend long game of Assassin, if anyone has heard about it. We did it for a while on campus in our anime club, hilarious paranoia ensued.

kamon keronji - April 6, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
is it in the same Location as last years fieldcon?

I have always wanted to praticipate in a game of assasins but I think its more limited to campuses. I don't think it would work at a con and a pretty small outdoor con I just don't think it could be prepared right.

Paintball would only be cool so we could get the paintball themed Bawls.:D
I suggested airsoft because its something you can get an ok gun for 20 bucks at the flea market plus its more otaku oriented.

Nerf is another inexpensive possibility. Water ballon war idk would we have anyplace to fill up water ballons and squirt guns?

Lothlin I think you might have an idea with acting out anime. An outdoor Eva puppet show perhaps? It could be of what we think the last movie of Rebuild of Evangelion will be like. Our prediction of one year in the future.

We need a Genkai cosplayer so we can have a sexy commando martial arts tournament. I haven't actually seen the sexy commando anime but God knows I need to.

Also picture this a Pokemon catching contest. Somebody stashes Pokemon plushies in the woods and who ever catches the most wins.

Ookami Yokai - April 6, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
Ninja Capture the Flag!
flag can be hidden in trees as well as the ground, as long as nothing has to be moved to view it.

Ookami Yokai - April 6, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
Survival maybe? People bring their own shinai or foam soft weapons and see how long they can last. Make it like a tournament. And have the two judges run around with the players to see if there was a hit or not.

smokie - April 6, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
Wait I got it! Instead of assasins do a live action version of Afro Samurai. Draw straws to decide who gets the number one and number two headbands then give them each a head start into the woods then let the hunt for #2 begin. All the while number 2 is hunting number 1.

curbebob - April 6, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
All of this sounds awesome. It's like what the otaku would do if they left their homes and somehow there were no TV's or anime to be shown! *creams pants*

Fixed and yeah this is probably what would happen. Although if a red dawn senario went down would we really be otaku anymore? I mean without anime and video games and computers would the fandom die and be regulated to the conversations of a few old timers fondly remembering DBZ. Meh I suppose there would still be comics and manga and possibly get some audio drama records going. Plus pen and paper and board games would replace video games. Oh God I'm discussing what would happen if nerds have to go primitive.

rpb3000 - April 6, 2007 05:51 AM (GMT)
Woahs activity.

Current plan: same place as last year. I've still gotta confirm that we can get it and whatnot, but it shouldn't be a problem unless they've got somebody else already scheduled.

Paintballs, no can do. Against the rules of the site. Airsoft however I think we could do.

No place to easily fill up water balloons ('sides, they're messy); however squirt guns are definitely doable if you don't mind pond water.

Ninja capture the flag - I like your thinking. We tried a longer CtF version last year, but got hit by a stroke of laziness and kept it standard.

Pokémon catching - May work. Why not do a "real-life" pokémon catching where we try to catch bugs, squirrels, rabbits, and such? Then we battle them! Or something. :-P

Because castration via squirrel would be unpleasant.

Lothlin - April 6, 2007 01:33 PM (GMT)
Lol. I'll have to make some new bopper weapons and drag them with me, ah well, I've got plenty of time for it.

I used to do that when I was like, 10. I got one of those pokeballs where you push the white thing and they pop open and I caught a bee in it. I was like, OMG! Beedrill!!111

smokie - April 6, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
For some reason I think that you could do something Battle Royale related that would be very cool for Fieldcon. That or Army of Darkness.

Ookami Yokai - April 7, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
battle royal had a point, army of darkness...we'll it didnt go to well the last time we tried to steal the necrocomicon...

Vincent - April 7, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
I have a copy of the Necronomion on my computer! I can print it off and we can use it!

smokie - April 7, 2007 03:30 PM (GMT)
Evil Dead Necronomicon Ex Mortus or Lovecraft Necronomicon? If anybody brings one I'm gonna have to pack heat cause I know some jackass will unleash demons or the undead during scary stories.

Lothlin - April 7, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
Please, no one summon Cthulhu. I don't feel like getting eaten at fieldcon.

Ookami Yokai - April 7, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
its like FF goes to hell XD
Summon! Beezlebub!
wait thats more Shin Megami Tensei

Yog-Sothoth would be more appropriate.

rpb3000 - April 7, 2007 08:19 PM (GMT)
We should have a summoning contest.

Kaisermikeb - April 7, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
Well now since magic doesn't exist that would be lame as hell.

i would sooo do that if there was a horse there

crknight29 - April 11, 2007 08:37 PM (GMT)
why couldn't we have a summoning contest? sure summoning something up like a giant talking frog or flying monkeys seems a little out of reality, but alot goes into summoning other than magic. Such as technique, originality, and style.

This is not Biggs - April 12, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
You can summon spirits with a Ouija board... it's easy, you just push the thingy around and act like it's beyond your control because a ghost is doing it. Spell out really ambiguous shit... I miss being ten years old.

Fuck you Mike! Magic is real! How else do you explain Yukito being able to move that doll in Air? Or the DS Lite being smaller, having a longer battery life and brighter backlight than the original DS? You can't.

:D Yes. Who still owns one? I'd love to join. I haven't seen one since I was a bit younger than ten though.

CHo - April 17, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
The only thing about Otaku Airsoft I'd object to is leaving pellets all over the place. I'm pretty sure that's not eco-friendly.

And as for not showing anything, we come to cons because we like anime, and most of the time, aren't the memories made by talking to our fellow congoers?

Chopsticks are good to clean. I propose bringing lots of ramen and maybe a small bag (10lb) of rice to cook over the fire. We could make onigiri :P

Hmm, what else...

I think... We should have... A drunken boxing contest. With points awarded for convincing-ness.

KaiserMikeB - April 17, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
can't we just award points to the guy who doesn't get knocked out?
