Title: Your future con plans for the rest of '07
Description: Who's going where...

This is not Biggs - April 2, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
So what conventions do you plan on attending for the rest of this year?

I'm shooting for Tsubasacon and Sugoicon. Well, I'll most definitely be at Tsubasacon because Huntington is just across the border from Ashland, Ky. It'll be too cheap to pass up-- I won't be needing a hotel. How convenient!

I just hope Sugoicon doesn't announce their dates for the same weekend. I think that happened to Tsubasacon in '05?

Vincent - April 2, 2007 12:47 AM (GMT)
None, I'm poor. Lol. One con a year for me.

DKong - April 2, 2007 01:52 AM (GMT)
Colossalcon in June...and I think that's about it.
MAYBE Matsuricon if my parents let me and my friends drive down for a day.

This is not Biggs - April 3, 2007 06:25 AM (GMT)
Aw... poor Vincent...

Sugoicon has just announced their dates and the new location... November 16-18 at The Drawbridge Inn.
The new location kind of has me a bit concerned. I've stayed at the Drawbridge before and although the hotel's concept was sort of cool it's got the whole lack of sanitation like a Medieval castle down. When I was there it smelled like mildew (though that'll be covered up by con funk) and didn't show signs of much cleaning since it's opening in the 70's. I mean, I've been in my fair share of nasty hotels/motels but I just don't like the rates the Drawbridge (can get up to $200) charges for staying in a gross room.

But whatever, we're con-goers, we're used to harsh conditions. And they haven't said anything about the con rates so it may be real cheap, I don't know.

Kaisermikeb - April 3, 2007 07:55 AM (GMT)
so you know, I think the sugoi rate is 90 bucks AFTER taxes!!

Lothlin - April 3, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
I'm going to Sugoi for sure, possibly Colossalcon, and well, Ohayocon is 2008 instead of 2007, but it's at the freaking beginning of January. I'll give it another try.

kalajessta - April 3, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
I'm heading to:

Tekkosho Con
Anime Central
Anime North
Colossal Con
Ikasu Con
Matsuri Con
Tsubasa Con
Sugoi Con
Youma Con

That's the plans for right now.

smokie - April 3, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
I might go to Tsubasa con. I meant to last year but couldn't. I haven't ruled out Fieldcon either.

Lothlin - April 3, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
Oh snap, how could I forget about Fieldcon?

Codi - April 3, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
Anime Central
Colossalcon
Otakon
Tsubasacon
Sugoicon

(and..if Fieldcon fits nicely in there somewhere)

Believe it!

(if someone gave me a solid and decent reason to attend youma I would.)

Celeste_Orchid - April 3, 2007 04:22 PM (GMT)
lets see... due to the limited time that I do have.. I don't think I'll be attending a lot of conventions even if I had the money.

I'll be attending

OMG!CON
Ikasucon
SugoiCon

I can't think of any other conventions that I will be able to go to because of my darn busy life.. :( :( :(

I have wishful thinking in hoping that I could attend ACen.. but thats not likely.

Lothlin - April 3, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
Acen. Ah Acen. See, I might do Acen, assuming I can get off work, school, make up everything I missed, and save up enough money for the reg and dealers room. Then, maybe, I might go to Acen.

...And I have to fiddle with one of my props because it's over four feet -.-

EnishiYukishirolover - April 3, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
I'm hoping that I can go to:

Anizone
Middle Tennessee Anime Convention
Anime Boston
OMG!!Con
A-Kon
Cleveland Colassal Convention
Wizard World Philadelphia
Jafax
Otakon
Ai-kon
Ikasucon
Matsuricon
XXXI Convencie Juedos de Mesa y Comics
Florida Supercon

Fieldcon in there somewhere.
I've registered for all of these already, and have a room already, now, transportation O__O

smokie - April 3, 2007 05:49 PM (GMT)
HOLY SHIT thats a lot of con!

LittleNicoleLost - April 4, 2007 12:09 AM (GMT)
My plans for the near future -

Colossal Con
Possibly Matsuri (I'll have to get Michelle to tell me where and when)
And a first trip to Sugoi

Kairi029 - April 4, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
ColossalCon
MatsuriCon
And this other con a friend told me about...Demyx...^_^

I forgot what it was called but apparently it's close-ish

Centaura - April 4, 2007 04:01 AM (GMT)
Otakon is the last one this year. I usually do three: NY Comic-Con (first time was this year, and it was awesome. Because I met Claire from Heroes AND Jhonen Vasquez, yes that's right), Anime Punch, and Otakon. I would do I-CON if it weren't so close to AP, since it would screw my work schedule worse than necessary. It's held like twenty minutes away from my house, so I used to go ever year.

But yes. Otakon. Win. I've been going every year since 2002. I freaking love it.

Kag-ST - April 4, 2007 02:04 PM (GMT)
I might possibly hit up Colossalcon. When is MAGfest? I wanted to go to that. Sugoicon will never be missed by holland, ever.

saturn - April 4, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
Animarathon in Bowling Green would be it for me this year and then Ohayocon again next year.

Kind of lost interest in Colossal this year...

MoonlightsCurse - April 4, 2007 06:53 PM (GMT)
I hope to go to Ikasucon and Sugoicon. But I might not go to Ikasu due to money >< But in '08 I'm going to Ohayocon (hopefully). If I don't go to the cruise in August, I might be going to Ikasu. It all depends XD But if I do, here are my cosplays

IKASUCON '07

1) Pikachu
2) Kimono Kyuubi
3) SnJ Kankuro

SUGOICON '07

1) Pikachu
2)Aruruu
3) Kimono Kyuubi
4) Aoyagi Ritsuka

>:D I'm amazing! XDD

sixpod - April 6, 2007 03:49 AM (GMT)

I'll just plug both sites for the hell of it:
http://www.colossalcon.com/2007/
http://www.matsuricon.org/

HalfinuTony - April 6, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
if i have the cash ill be going to as many as i can but Acen is one that i want to go to.

This is not Biggs - April 6, 2007 08:46 AM (GMT)
Sugoi's accommodations is just $90 post-tax per night?
Niiiiiiiiiiiice. That's not bad at all.

I haven't made it to Sugoicon since 2004... Can't wait to go back.

(Edited for fixing a fatal typo error.)

Lothlin - April 6, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Wow, that is cheap.

Tsugaru - April 6, 2007 02:50 PM (GMT)
That one up in Bowling Green with my Anime Club, SugoiCon, Hopefully Matsuricon. Then all back to Ohayocon again. ^_^;;;

rpb3000 - April 6, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
Animarathon
ColossalCon
Fieldcon

Beyond that, I'm not sure yet. Definitely Youmacon, possibly Matsuricon, Tsubasa-con, and Trinitycon.

Dooo it. It was a lot of fun. The only thing was the line to get in on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It took about an hour to get in, but once you were in you were free to roam (and the wait went faster than it was, actually).

If you do plan to go, pre-reg as soon as you can. At-the-door reg has a habit of selling out fast.

Jhonen is awesome, but I think I annoyed him, lawls.

StrifesFallenAngel - April 6, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
I may be going to the one in bowling green...
It just depends on how my dad is doing. He can't really walk right now so thats just a tad problem.

Alex - April 6, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
Animarathon, Marcon, and Connecticon for now. Once I get a job, my options will probably open up a bit more. ^_^

Leung - April 7, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
i'll probably wrap it up with the one in Cleveland and then Sugoi since that's a stones throw from my home.

unseengbh - April 8, 2007 06:11 PM (GMT)
I live about 20 minutes from the Cleveland con in Chagrin Falls so my friends and I are for sure going, dunno if we are staying in the hotel or not.
where is Sugoi at? I may also go with some people to Otakon for my birthday which is a month and a bit before hehe. I'm a noob to conventions so I'm trying to keep up with conventions in Ohio or surrounding areas.

unseengbh - April 8, 2007 06:14 PM (GMT)
Marcon seems interesting too.

I'm pretty sure Sugoi is in Cinci or Kentucky or near that border.

Don't forget that Google is your friend.

I've got just the thing for you. A list of conventions in Ohio and surrounding areas ^_~

It needs to be updated now that AP's past, and I also have to include some new info that's been released on a couple cons. But it's pretty much as complete as possible, and is updated regularly.

BTW, what con is in Chagrin Falls? I only know of ColossalCon (Independence) and Harucon (Elyria) for Cleveland-area...
