Title: Da da da da da da
Description: BAWLS
neoendgame - April 1, 2007 09:22 PM (GMT)
I think that sums up the con :)
smokie - April 1, 2007 09:36 PM (GMT)
That was good but for me I think it was the Protomen. Seeing them kick ass that alone was worth my 25 bucks and trip up there. The video game panel during the cosplay competition had its moments too Pimps at Sea was mentioned.
neoendgame - April 1, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
Me to. That was the best part for me. That and meeting them, AND having my DS signed.
Kairi029 - April 1, 2007 11:08 PM (GMT)
That got really old really fast...

smokie - April 2, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
I concur with Vincent. The Bawls chant was awesome.
DKong - April 2, 2007 01:57 AM (GMT)
Yeah, the video game vendors were sweet. My friend got Beatmania (with controller) for only $40...and it was new. I also picked up some Animal Crossing toys for cheap.
I liked the Mad Gear from Ohayocon better, though.
Vincent - April 2, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
I stood there for like, 10 minutes. Just waiting for people to buy bawls. They were right though. This will probably be all over the web in days.

I was being asked to try, but, I didn't. They told me it tasted like Ginger Ale, so I stuck with my good ol' Diet Dew. <3
unseengbh - April 2, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
Hhaha I don't know how many stupid jokes I heard like " Don't touch my bawls" and " Give me your bawls". It tasted like flat Sprite yet amazing. Haha.

Oh, yeah. XD
In the music gaming room, that was like, the only thing you heard. I sat there and laughed, unknowing if double meanings were in favor. XD
sobpat29 - April 2, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Our little ditty got us much love and hate.
Lothlin - April 2, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Oh the double meanings were totally intentional and great. I swear, there were points when Dave and I got bored and just sat around making jokes about Bawls. Constantly. XD
Vincent - April 2, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
I spilled my bawls in my pants. =\

Your Bawls should have been in some sort of protective container. :D
Vincent - April 2, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
Well, that was my first mistake! I asked someone to touch my bawls, then whenthey did I took a drink and put the cap back on, then stuck it in my pocket, so that I could say I had ice cold bawls down my pants. Then my leg felt wet and I was like... Oh shit! I spilled my bawls in my pants! Ewww I have bawls down my leg! xD
Tsugaru - April 2, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)
So...
does it taste more like Ginger Ale or Sprite? DX

When the contents of your Bawls are no longer in the right place, then, well, you've got a problem, friend. :o
Tsu: I'd say it tastes like a little of both.
Lothlin - April 2, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
It's kind of hard to describe the taste, it really doesn't taste like either of those to me. Maybe something like cream soda, with a dash of sprite or mountain dew, and none of it carbonated (but not that nasty flat flavor.) Dunno.
Bawls tastes like... Bawls. *shrugs*

Of course, when you ask someone to describe the taste of your Bawls, well, you've crossed a line that mortal man was not meant to cross.
...Should I quit while I'm still ahead?
Tsugaru - April 2, 2007 08:50 PM (GMT)
Probably. XD
I still have Sat. Night's Bawls arguement replaying in my head, trying to figure on the context of ... *gets shot*
Lothlin - April 2, 2007 08:51 PM (GMT)
Was this when every girl in the room had a bottle of Bawls and we were all exclaiming (loudly,) that we had more bawls than the boys? XD
And sure Dave. Go on ;p

Well, of course you did, simply because the ratio of women to men was much greater. Also, Ross had no Bawls. ;)
...Ah. It's deeply satisfying to make Bawls jokes with new friends.
crippledmessiah - April 3, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
wow i made so many bawls jokes this weekend, it helped pass the time and keep me awake.
vrillusions - April 3, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
I saw everyone walking around holding their bawls and I couldn't find them, although I didn't think to ask either. So I was bawless the whole weekend and stayed up pretty much the whole time on just a few mt dew's and monster drinks.
fwiw I saw bawls at compusa (before they closed). Also I know thinkgeek.com sells them. And yeah, it's like a fruity sprite of sorts... I guess.
sobpat29 - April 3, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
we were in the vendors room and the video gaming area with our bawls goodness. If you are bawless Game junkie has you covered (yes im plugging the store)
Centaura - April 3, 2007 06:37 AM (GMT)
Someone tried that chant at the game room snack table, and it wasn't really very well received. So when I found the vendors that started it, I gave them a verbal beating XD But not really, because I'd bought a few things from them before and they were really cool guys.
"Oh, so that was you guys? What have you done?!"
I then proceeded to buy $90 of merchandise and got two free Bawls. LOLOLOL.
Oh, best Bawls moment: Touching Kaji's Bawls and informing him that they were "ribbed for her pleasure".
Aside from that, I've heard/said every Bawls joke possible already, since way before AP XD So I refrained, mostly.

Well, this doesn't look like it has been mentioned, and that is probably because my knowledge of this rests solely on the fact that I'm way too old to be doing this...
Anyway, there was this drink sometime in the mid-late 90s called Josta. First time I ever had anything with Guarana in it. Tasted just like Bawls, but a lot more of that thick weird tangy sweet flavor. The shit was dark red and looked a bit like fizzy motor oil. I couldn't get enough of it. I remember buying loads of it and drinking it all the time in middle school. I was incredibly upset when they stopped making it, but elated the first time I had Bawls and was pleasantly surprised by that familiar funny taste.
Drakitha - April 3, 2007 05:30 PM (GMT)
Bawls were diffinately good. And RBG. What wasn't good was McDonalds closing for a n hour at 1 am just when you are getting INCREDIBLY HUNGRY.

Whaaaa~? You're comparing Josta to Bawls? No way, man. It has a tingle of what made Josta good, but it lacks the dragonfruit. Josta is the shit, now and forever.
smokie - April 3, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)
Anybody else remember a drink called Surge? I used to drink it from time to time back in the day. It was a bit like Mountain Dew if memory serves me right.
Tsugaru - April 3, 2007 07:53 PM (GMT)
Surge has been compared with Vault, I recall...
But I still prefer diet soda right now. *has never tried bawls, but might at the arcade*

Wasn't a huge fan of it.

Gah! Dragonfruit! That's what gave Josta that funky color isn't it? And you're right, it did have a richer, dare I say superior, flavor. But Bawls does provide a glimpse at what once was in a happier bygone time.
Lothlin - April 4, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
I miss Surge so much sometimes. Vault is a pretty good substitute though, and it's pulled me through a few all-night finals marathons before.

Ain't that the truth. Is it just me or did life start sucking when this new millennium shit started? I'm just glad I get to travel back in time eventually.

dude the bawls chant was awsome
