I'll be bringing my own, but it's really nice of you to offer this for people. As far as making Ramen in a coffee maker..I'm going to have to experiment beore the con to get it right. Lol

Tsugaru - March 25, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
Hm.. I've learned today that Picante Chicken ramen is no good. DX

Lothlin - March 25, 2007 04:40 AM (GMT)
I'll probably bring my own too, but yeah. Mmmm Ramen.

yuesokka - March 25, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)

I would like some ramen! that is if you have diffrent flavors.

what i have tried so far

Maruchan: Beef,Chicken,lime chili with shrimp,creamy chicken,lime shrimp.

I am looking for some new flavors to get hooked on.

crknight29 - March 25, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
i like the basic flavors. never had the gourmet flavor ones.

Pnut - March 26, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
Just don't buy the cheese ramen...that was a bad idea. No matter how much it looks like mac and cheese with ramen noodles instead of pasta shells, it is in fact not.
As for coffee ramen, do you actually make it in the coffee maker, or do you use the coffee maker to make hot water to put in the cup? I've been wondering about that.

Lothlin - March 26, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
You use the coffee maker to heat the water up and use the cup. I bought a couple of massive bowls of ramen just for that purpose. Mmm, breakfast!

(Cheese ramen.. I saw it once, it looked so disguisting. My arteries cringed at the sight.)

Pnut - March 26, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
You are lucky to have avoided the cheese ramen. My friend and I thought it sounded fun, and we paid the mightly price of ruined ramen for our mistake.

kamon keronji - March 26, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
seriously I had cheese ramen. To give it a richer cheese flavor I put less water in it. wasn't that bad.

Pnut - March 27, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
Hmm, I can't say for less water, but I bet it could be better with a bit of milk and some shreaded cheese melted in. It just had a very fake, gritty cheese flavor imo. Maybe we got a bad batch.

crknight29 - March 28, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
i like the new chow mien bowls you can buy at the store for 87 cents...they have a veggie pack, a flavor pack, and an oil pack, and they are really a very large portion for 87 cents.

My cousin and I are bringing some Ramen, but we went to an Asian Mart to buy it...now if we could only read the ingredients. lol Glad they print the directions in English and the actual flavor is written in English.

I have me a bowl and stuff too, but most of what I bought, 'cept for one, is the type you just have to add the hot water to and it has its own container. Oh yeah, I need to buy some chopsticks to make it even more authentic. *Nods* lol

I'm going to enjoy this. Due to its high sodium content, I try to avoid stuff like Ramen. It's been a really long time since I've had any kind of Ramen. I don't think I've had any since sometime last year. I'm pretty much ignoring all "health food rules" for this trip, like I usually do when traveling (well, not entirely). lol I'll go back to healthy, normal eating on Monday.

I've tried that, and did it that way too, and I liked it. I had it many years ago. I tried that flavor more recently (I'd say a couple of years ago), though, and the taste was horrible to me; I haven't tried it since. Guess I outgrew it, or either, as someone else mentioned, the batch was a bad one...a really, really bad one. It smelt funny too, now that I think about it. I didn't get sick or anything, though.

crknight29 - March 30, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
mmmm....mushroom ramen

Centaura - March 30, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
Damn, that sounds good. I'm starving, but my friends are all passed out, and we are foodless. I hear otaku all around me, and I wanna be out there, damn it. It's too early. XP

Early bedtime for me, I guess.

Sanjuro - March 31, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)

Kairi029 - April 1, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)

crknight29 - April 6, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)

You could always buy a table at the next con and have a ramen stand in the hotel. I'm sure you'd sell a lot, ramen crazy anime fans enter the hotel, having not eaten in two days....They spot the ramen stand.. They stampede towards you and throw money at you. Good game.

Leung - April 9, 2007 12:01 AM (GMT)
lol if someone opens a ramen stand in ohio, i'll make sure i'm in the Grand Opening line.

Tsugaru - April 11, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
Teriyaki chicken ramen is good.. but.. I taste no teriyaki...

Or chicken for that matter..

It's beef. O_O;;; But the package said Teriyaki Chicken, and sure smelled like Teriyaki.

When that stand opens, I'll order this huge bowl of it. :3

crknight29 - April 11, 2007 08:27 PM (GMT)
well, i'm exploring my options on actually opening the very first Ramen type stand/restraunt here in columbus. And about the ramen you buy in package, ha, mine will not be like that. mine will be freshly made noodles with fresh ingrediants like you see on the animes.
been working on some great dishes lately. made a chicken teriyaki, mushroom one monday night. it was yummy.

i'm also working on a recipe for Dango.

EagerFox - April 11, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
Somewhere in Japan someone is dreaming of opening a hotdog stand, just like they see in the movies from America.

crknight29 - April 11, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
sure, why not?

Torouh - July 10, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
Dose it make me totally un-otakuish if i hate ramen? o.O
