Title: Alarm Clock Go BOOM!
Description: ...and other sound advice.

Anyone have a sure-fire way to wake up in the morning? I keep sleeping through my alarm(s). Or getting up, climbing out of my bunk, turning off my alarm, and climbing back up to go back to sleep without remembering doing so. Stuff like that.
A friend mentioned a having a bomb alarm clock that you'd have to disarm to turn off, but I imagine that'd tip the scales to not being able to sleep well at night. That, and it's positively ridiculous. ^_^
Really, though. Advice? :unsure:

I've got a quiet, more soothing alarm on my phone, which wakes me up gently at an earlier time. I can hit the snooze if I like, but then my other alarm clock, which is much louder and more jarring, wakes me up at the last possible minute I'd need to get ready for my day. Helps my wake up slowly, and if I'm rested enough, I can get up when my nice alarm goes off instead of stalling for the mean one. ^^;
Or if you go the bathroom right when you wake up, put your alarm clock in the bathroom. You're already there, so you might as well start your day. Streamline your wake-up routine, essentially.

A good trick (that you can't use too often) is tape your cellphone to your arm, and set the alarm to vibrate.

I use my phone for my alarm. I have it set to vibrate and for it to ring really loudly. I have the phone on the pillow right beside me when in bed. Since I hate hearing it, I usually end up waking up before it even goes off. The alarm is just my back up, for the most part. I usually don't need it.

Taping my cellphone to me. Crazy enough that it might work. Definitely worth a try.
Loud alarms are a tad out of the equation because I have a roommate and her schedule runs later than mine about half the week, so I'd like to avoid waking her prematurely if at all possible. :mellow:

I am a heavy sleeper. My alarm is call a Screaming Meanie. It is 120Db and still fails to wake me 60% of the time. And this is why I will never be able to have a roommate. I am getting a new one my mom found in a magazine. It is supposed to be even louder and have a thing you lay on your chest and when the alarm goes off it starts vibrating like a small animal or something.

Holy moly. That's somewhere on the border of ridiculous and awesome. Wow. :blink:
Alas, spring break is over! Time to see how well this cell phone vibration works. *crosses fingers*
