Just posting to see if anyone else wants to join us on this one.
Right now its just me and my wife doing a metalocalypse cosplay.

Im going as Skwisgaar Skwigelf (taller than a tree) and shes going as Toki Wartooth(not a bumblebee). So heres to anyone who wants to show up saturday as Pickles the Drummer, Nathan Explosion, or Murderface.

That's pretty awesome, I'm a huge fan of that show. It should be noted though that it is not anime, and that this con is in the process of moving towards having people only do anime costumes.

In the mean time I want you to have a nice day. Can you do that for me? Can you have a nice day?

Trust me itll be a nice day at the con ...AS DETHKLOK! I seriously doubt it matters whether im an anime, game character or just plain pop culture. Ive seen transformer cosplays, wrestler cosplays and you know what? Its pretty much just one thing at the cons...geek culture. Doesnt matter what kind. Im driving 3 hours and I just dont feel like whipping out my prince of persia cosplay for a drive that long and dealing with the makeup and prep time for one day on top of that drive...3 hours...BOTH WAYS. This is something non restrictive to movement, and easy and fun I can do in no time. If anyone else needs a cosplay but lacks money or time this is simply something fun they can do so that they can actually have a cosplay that they can do and they wont have to worry about feeling silly and alone while doing it.

So long as I show up with money and spend it I seriously doubt it should matter to anyone there in charge. I applaud anyone who dresses as ANYTHING simply because it shows me that they are there trying to get involved and have fun like those around them.

I know you want a perfect theme but sometimes its just silly to restrict things like this. Im not trying to gripe at you here but...who cares? Its supposed to be fun to dress up and this cosplay is simply meant to be entertaining. Youll get over it dont worry. See you there and I hope that my idea for Dethklok cosplay opens up a way to dress up for anyone who was pressed for time or cash.

Before you start this argument up ONCE AGAIN, please go read some of the threads in the forum on the matter. They're not hard to find, if I remember correctly it's a couple Kingdom Hearts threads that go on into the double digit pages.

I love anime just as much as anyone there and its silly to think that I would come out and try to irritate anyone whos cosplay wasn't a game or internet related. I understand what you all want is a unique con for those jaded disenfranchised con goers who feel alienated at an anime con because theres non anime cosplays at them. But at a con its who the cosplayers are that makes each con memorable not who they dressed as.
As I said earlier im restricted due to time both to make and to prep. I get one day off to enjoy myself at a con and I choose to spend it doing as little prep as possible and in something easy to get around in. Im not out to thrash your ideals or to ignore otaku and to chat up with gamers and net nerds only. Im here for the whole thing. Your looking too much at what im wearing and too little at why I would want to be at a con for anime.
I see it as silly to talk about descriminating against those around you and not honoring the staff and anime fans when it sounds like thats what I can look forward to having done to me if I simply dont show up as a strict anime cosplay even though im an anime fan wanting to go to an anime con.
Doesnt sound like im trying not to show any honor...im just trying to show period. Try not to read more into me than that. 3 hours. One day. Gas money, food money, little sleep, admission , vendor room cash. And I still want to go. That sums up what I feel about this con. Lets get over the cosplay.
