I finally pulled out my two month old sewing machine to start working on costumes. This is the first time using this machine (which is a Singer) and I managed to fix the problems that were occuring. Though I still have a question about sewing in general. How do you make the back stitch 'clean'?
Mine usually comes out messy and in clumps. I don't know how to fix the solution. I've self taught my self on the machine last June, so I haven't had that much experience with sewing machines yet. I'm slowly learning though. Any help or tips will be appreciated.
Go slow? ^^; I don't know, you saw how much trouble I was having with Aya's sewing machine. I think it's partially the quality of the machine itsself, because I've absolutely never had problems on my granmother's or my mother's machines, neat backstitch and all.
1.) Oil your machine
2.) Make sure the tension is set properly
3.) Make sure everything is thread properly, especially the bobbin thread.
what Yuffie said.
make sure the tension is right. that's always my problem when it comes to that. some machines have a tention setting for the bobin too. if all else fails and your willing to pay the price you could have it sent in to get it cleaned up. that could be it too.
one last suggestion, you could go into a sewing store and ask them if they know whats going on with the machine.
