Title: Dealers Room/Vendors questions

DKong - February 27, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
1. How big is the dealer's room?

2. How many dealers usually come?

3. Are the dealers allowed to sell food (pocky, ramune, etc)?

4. Will there be any import game vendors?

SSJ Jup81 - February 27, 2007 10:29 AM (GMT)
1. Normal, I guess.

2. No idea. ^^;

3. Yep. My cousin is looking forward to that, since he liked all those Japanese treats/snacks and drinks. He's totally addicted to Pocky. lol

4. Probably. I bought an imported Naruto game last year for the PS2.

1: Same size as last year
2: I don't have an exact number at the moment
3: Yes
4: Yes

I can get the basic Strawberry and Chocolate Pocky at my Wal-Mart, yes.

rikku7504 - February 27, 2007 08:14 PM (GMT)
you can get Pocky at world market

Vincent - February 27, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
I just hope we don't have more dealers then last year if it's the same size.. It was almost impossible to walk in there. I did find a twenty on the floor though.

Well I wasn't at AP last year, so that really doesn't help much.

But thanks for the replies, guys!

Also, one of the best places for Japanese snacks that's relatively easy to find is FYE. I've seen strawberry, regular, and almond crush pocky, various ramune flavors, yan yan, and a few other snacks. The price is pretty bad, though....it's like 2-4$ a box.

Glad to hear that there's an import game dealer!

Ookami Yokai - March 3, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
cam asian market sells it for what it would be in japan, 99 cents for a single box, and the most expensive box of pocky is only $2

Kairi029 - March 4, 2007 07:21 AM (GMT)
I can't find coconut pocky at world market :(

do you think they will be selling some at the con?

Vincent - March 4, 2007 11:30 AM (GMT)
It was as hard to move in last years dealer room as it was to get your entire thumb in your nose. Please tell me we got more room or less sellers?

I wouldn't be surprised if you find stuff like that there. Last year, I saw vendors selling Kunai (which I really wanted, but since I didn't want to get stopped by airport security, unfortunately, passed on getting) as well as nice authentic (imo) forehead protectors.

DKong - March 26, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
Um, is there any list of vendors anywhere?

Also, with the floor plan posted, which room is gonna be the dealer's room?

Cyberwolf 2000 - March 27, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
What time does the dealers room open on friday?

EDIT: Looks like 2pm? Am I right?

Kaisermikeb - March 27, 2007 08:45 PM (GMT)
the schedule might not be right for vendors hours yet.

Oh okay. I wanted to know how early I should show up for the Dealers Room. ^_^

Kairi029 - April 1, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
I was impressed with the dealers room. Not as big as Ohoyocon but still decent.

DKong - April 2, 2007 01:48 AM (GMT)
I'd take this one over Ohayocon's....except Mad Gear from Ohayo, they kicked ass. The video game Dealer at AP was alright, but had nothing special.

But I'd take this one simply cause it has a lot of what you need, and not a whole lot of BS. Ohayocon had 3 DVD vendors. Did it need that many? NO. It just created clusterfucks all over the place.
Speaking of CF's, AP was pretty good about it. I didn't have to shove thru anyone in the dealers room in order to move 2 feet :D.

Bukkake Tsunami - April 2, 2007 02:36 AM (GMT)
I really wish this dealer's room had had more than one DVD and Manga vendor. They didn't have most of the things I wanted and didn't restock all weekend. More vendors equals more variety and possibly cheaper prices for the consumers.

I really wanted those last three DVDs in the Utena series... :(

Dude, I love your forum name.

For me the Dealer's room was lacking in the gundam models department. I know AP's got no real control over it, but the room was "meh" for me. A couple dealers that I usually buy from weren't there. Which was sadness.

DKong - April 3, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
Did you see how much crap that DVD and manga dealer had under their table? I'm sure they restocked.

But I mean, sure I guess having more could get price competition and more variety, but it also causes clusterfucks in the dealers room, as those tables are the most popular.
