Title: Mmm, Snow.
Description: Meaning Delays/Closings [Like the Snow?

Miccy - January 30, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
And today happened to be one of those Closings.
Last week we had two delays, one of which I ended up walking with Seth to school, and having to wait two hours till people even arrived. :[

Anyway, hows everyone liking the snow?

I don't like the snow, I like the delays. :[

rpb3000 - January 30, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
I love the snow. I went down to Edgewater park and took a bunch of pictures on the frozen parts of the lake. 'twas fun. But we don't get closings or delays at Tri-C. We just deal.

Miccy - January 30, 2007 05:19 PM (GMT)
W00!
:] Delays

smokie - January 30, 2007 06:09 PM (GMT)
Its cold as fuck here in Dayton. The snow was nice for a while because it reminds me of Kanon and my coat looks like Yuuichi's minus the hood. After a while though I'm just thinking "Fuck its too cold and where are all the sad chicks?" I did go sledding when it first snowed that was fun despite the fact I couldn't find any sad girls at the park.

Yuffie - January 30, 2007 08:25 PM (GMT)
I like snow.

School never closes though, and the streets in my area don't get plowed.

This is not Biggs - January 30, 2007 08:38 PM (GMT)
Me and about ten other people waiting at a crosswalk got salted the other day.
We haven't really been getting any snow, a smidget in the mornings, that's all. We've got plenty of bitter cold to go around, though. Like the kind of cold that makes people go nuts... Where they'd pee on themselves to just be a little bit warmer.

Kag-ST - January 30, 2007 09:32 PM (GMT)
It sorta snowed this morning. But of course, it didnt last.

Its mo'fuckin cold outside. I need a better, not so big coat. My current coat is fine, its just really big.

Lothlin - January 30, 2007 11:23 PM (GMT)
I would honestly rather have it actually SNOW instead of just having the really fine, icy snow that never sticks and is horridly painful when the wind whips it in your face. Because that's what we've been getting, and it makes walking to class awfully painful. I seriously thought my nose was going to fall off this morning.

smokie - January 30, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
Snow good in Kanon bad in real life.

Tsugaru - January 31, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
I hate snow...

Kaisermikeb - January 31, 2007 06:38 AM (GMT)
I wish the snow would stick around longer. By nighfall it's all gone again.

Miccy - January 31, 2007 10:37 AM (GMT)
><;; We have a lot of snow. You guys that want it can have it.

I have to walk 30 minutes in it home, and to school. ^^;;

Which'll soon change this coming weekend when I'm forced to go back home. :[

sniper - January 31, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
I HAD A SNOW DAY! YAY! alc.gif

smokie - January 31, 2007 07:22 PM (GMT)
I had a get up and its fucking freezing take a Western Civ Midterm Exam with a prof who loves essays.

Miccy - January 31, 2007 11:45 PM (GMT)
W00 for snow days! :]

I had school today. Seth forgot to wait for me in the morning, so I had to walk alone. :[

But I came in and once you've been cold for like 30 minutes, and come inside, it kind of hurts when your body tries to re adapt.
:0 I don't konw the name for it, but I hate the feeling. :[

crknight29 - February 1, 2007 12:13 AM (GMT)
i tell you what...i don't mind the snow. just as long as it isn't rain. but since i live within a 15-20 min. walk of where i work, i enjoy just throwing on my heavycoat gloves and hat and just walking to work on a nice brisk day. i know it sounds dumb walking in the snow, but it is actually not bad. plus it takes me less time to walk there then to warm up the car. snow is o.k.

smokie - February 1, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
Snow can be OK I just hate the bone chilling cold of it being ten degrees in Dayton.

crknight29 - February 1, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)
i'll agree with you smokie. the cold is the worst.

Miccy - February 1, 2007 10:35 AM (GMT)
I do not like cold.

rpb3000 - February 1, 2007 02:13 PM (GMT)
Cold doesn't really bother me unless I'm in it for a long time, or it's really freakin' cold (like, single digits or lower). My friends have a saying, "You know it's a cold day when John zips up his coat." I almost never zip up my coat happy.gif;; I do switch from my fall suede jacket to my winter coat, but it rarely gets zipped up.

But I despise cold and rainy days. I'd much rather see snow and lots of it. Snow amuses me happy.gif If it's gonna be cold, it needs to snow. Otherwise, it needs to be warm. None of that hovering-around-freezing sleety slushy rainy mess.

Pnut - February 1, 2007 03:25 PM (GMT)
I love cold weather! Down here in Kentucky, we finally got some snow last night, but it's not enough to enjoy sleep.gif Our school system's a pansy, though, so we got a snow day, even though we got maybe 1/2 inch!

crknight29 - February 1, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
i loved growing up and having snow days at school. but those times are long gone, it doesn't snow enough to get a snow day from work. bah!

All you need is a blizzard. Blizzard of 78 here in Dayton pretty much everything shut down.

crknight29 - February 1, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
yup, i remember it, it hit Hamilton pretty hard, but I was just a kid then.

Miccy - February 1, 2007 11:20 PM (GMT)
Mmm, I think our school system is dumb, basically, every year before this, it would take a freaking ice storm to stop us from going to school. :[

Our superintendent used to live in Cleveland while us people in Ashland had bad weather, and he couldn't really tell.

crknight29 - February 1, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
I believe every school district has a different outlook on what they can handle for snowy weather.

Yuffie - February 2, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
We go to school in ice storms. We had one bus accident this year, even.

On the really bad days, all the kids are at school, while all the teachers call in subs rather then drive though it.

Gay. D:

That's irritating to be honest.

crknight29 - February 2, 2007 05:27 AM (GMT)
all schools are irritating. and so is the weather.

Lothlin - February 2, 2007 05:48 AM (GMT)
Much to my (and a lot of other people's surprise,) we actually had a bunch of teachers cancel classes today. I don't know WHY, there was maybe two inches of snow, tops, nothing especially bad.

...'course, I didn't find this out until I'd gotten ready, dragged my ass out of bed, and hiked through the cold and the snow only to find out that Japanese had been canceled -.-.

Personally, I like that class, it kind of pissed me off. I only ever like snow days when they actually benefit me instead of being an annoyance.

Miccy - February 2, 2007 10:27 AM (GMT)
Ehh, 2 inches? :[

Saki - February 2, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
2 snow days in a row

Lothlin - February 2, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
Meh, I'm probably way off, I was just judging by what I saw on the ground XD. I don't actually pay much attention to weather reports, so I don't know how much actually fell.

chaosharbour - February 3, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
I know I'm definitely not looking forward to next week. ; ; Though the wind chill's already pretty bad here in Brunswick. And I know my school won't close. We never do. Crazy superintendents.

Vincent - February 4, 2007 02:48 AM (GMT)
Pfft, all they do is look out their door and if it looks bad they call school, what you need to do is find out where he lives and get a big hose and some snow from wherever you can and basically make it look like only a suicidal person would go on the roads around his house.

crknight29 - February 4, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
well, no snow here in Dublin, just got really really cold...darn windchill. all i think they do is stick a guy in a freezer with a fan blowing on him to tell the windchill.

Miccy - February 4, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
So, today, the day of all days I decided upon NOT blow drying my hair, Jessica and I go out, we're walking into the car, not even 10 feet away, and by the time I get in, my hair it frozen.

You can litterally see the frozen pieces of water at the tips of my hair, about to slide off.

Anyway, we were litterally blown away when we got to Walmart! I almost fell like five times.

crknight29 - February 4, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Today Columbus could have changed its name to Antartica.

Miccy - February 4, 2007 07:13 AM (GMT)
:[ I'm all sick.

Actually a lot of people are.

Anyway, at least I don't have to walk to school anymore since I have to go back home.

crknight29 - February 5, 2007 02:17 AM (GMT)
yeah, the cold sucks.
