I really want to get some professional (or semi-professional) pictures of our cosplay group this year. We're going to have quite a few of us this time, so I want some good shots.

Anybody scheduling private photoshoots?

I don't think there's any professional press coming to AP this year, is there Mike? I think it would be cool if we can get someone like EBK to come. But he mostly works with cosplay.com. Also, why don't Anime Punch have a forum yet on there?

if worse comes to worse I'm a decent enough photographer to do it myself, though i'd need to know a while in advance if i'm going to need to get my hands on my grandfather's awesome cameras.

Suppose i might do that anyway and put together some con photo album dealy and slap it up on the AP website, seems like a good idea.

too bad i look nothing like Saiga from Speed Grapher. Instagib camera is victory.

Actually there is a photographer, who is also on AP staff.

He told me it depended on his new job. Either way he said he would keep it in mind, and see what developes closer to the convention.

More or less any title you could give me would be correct I think, but yeah, Conchair or Kaiser work best I guess.

I'm not sure if Kevin is planning on heading to ours or not, I don't think there is anything else going on that week, but neither of us have contacted each other. I would have to figure out where to do it though... space is kind of limited. Maybe a hotel room?
Amber, you're talking about Keith, right? If all else fails then yeah, we'll definitely have to use him. I am not sure if he has a decent digital camera though, and I think most people rather not wait for him to develope the photos. We'd also need to find a nice printer. Still, it's probably good income too. Worst comes to worst we could upload it to like, wallgreens.com and send someone to pick up the photos every few hours.

i just looked over the con memories page on the website... and well... i think it definately needs something of a wee bit higher quality... so yeah, i'm going to be running around taking pictures to ensure that the con is immortalized in pictures for posterity's sakè.

Though we could have both a photo album thingy and a con memory page, but make it more of a con-goer testimonial kinda thing where they state how much we own'd them.

to be fair, none of those pictures were ever supposed to be professional grade. They are some of the ones people uploaded to radio free armageddia from thier own collections after the con.

That being said, it would be cool if you took some photos of the con.
On that note, I need video cams. I want a lot of our panels and such to be recorded.

oh yes i completely understand that that was the intent of the con memoeries page and i had no intention of insulting (if i even did, i don't pick up on these things thanks my good olde friend Aspergers) them in anyway, since i wouldn't expect that much out of it because of the nature of it (though i personally would have done some touch ups in photoshop).

I've confirmed getting the camera and i think i can nab one of my video cameras for that.

IF I go, I'll be videotaping. Borrowing my aunts camera.

I actually do press photography at many cons (is there any press pass application?). I have been asked to be in a skit for Anime Punch, so I will be doing my best to be there. So I will be taking lots of pictures, and if things not hectic w skit group would be willing to take some group shots. I didn't bring my videocamera last year, but plan to set it up at least for the masq if it is okayed. It would just be running on wide shot auto to get most of stage, so no tight shots - would be similiar in quality to contests I shot auto in 2004 and later at http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=Icosplay (have many more contests to capture and the camera can do much better when someone is controlling it, http://www.dailymotion.com/Conpanels/video/xtyy3 is me hand holding it at a panel shooting)
