Title: Places to hang out or to meet people in Columbus?

kalajessta - January 15, 2007 04:06 AM (GMT)
Since I don't know many yet in Columbus, is there any places around that are a good hang out to meet new people?

smokie - January 16, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
Try asking some of the homeless people around Columbus.

That was a little uncalled for.

i thought it was different. good job on being unique on top of that. i found it funny so go u.

It's seriously not bad advice. The homeless are everywhere and generally know what they are talking about.

BTW, why did you move here anyhow?

Vincent - January 16, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't know. I only goto columbus for two reasons. One is because thats where my eye doctor is, the other, I think should be obvious.

rpb3000 - January 17, 2007 04:12 AM (GMT)
Gameworks at Easton is always fun, although the general crowds at Easton tend to be annoying. There's a roller rink at 71 and Morse that's amusing.

crknight29 - January 17, 2007 04:22 AM (GMT)
there are literally dozens of unique places to see, visit, hangout at when in Columbus or the surrounding areas. Yes, the homeless would know some places, but they are homeless and most don't wander away from the warm places that they are currently hold up in.

there is Anime Palace up in the Polaris area not too far away from the mall, Easton is a great place on a warm day because it is outside and then there is Tuttle Mall. Hang out on campus as one person suggested. All-in-all Columbus has many places. Just ask.

Needed to get out of Cleveland after 22 years of living in the same house, same city...

What's the address of Anime Palace? I've been there once (and when they were closed too).

crknight29 - January 17, 2007 06:37 AM (GMT)
www.animepalace.com
400 Lazelle Rd # 400-5

it is hard to actually find. it is in a small section of other warehouse type stores. but the sign is behind a big tree.

Thanks. I'll have to check it out sometime after work or on a day off.

only problem is is that they usually just stay open til 5. i knew the guy when he still ran it out of his house and you had to make an oppointment.

Ah, that does cause a problem. Most of my shifts I get off at 4 or 6. I'll have to go on a day off then ^^;; Are they open weekends?

What's the Dublin Anime Club (saw it in your signature)?

crknight29 - January 17, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
just a couple of us up here in Dublin that get together and watch anime.

kalajessta - January 17, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
Aah, nothing like a college-type anime club then?

crknight29 - January 17, 2007 07:39 AM (GMT)
i've been out of college for almost 8 years.

Gotcha. That would make sense then. I'm taking a leave from college right now until I can get finacially stabled again to take some night classes and to figure out what I want to do.

crknight29 - January 19, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Financial stability is what you want. College will always be there and you will learn something everyday. Just keep your eyes and ears open. However I'm taking my English degree one step further this year. I'm taking the original consept of several animes and writing screenplays.

WHAT THE HELL?? WHERE!?!?! I LIVE RIGHT BY POLARIS MALL!!!! <--- good place to hang out.

unseengbh - April 8, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
Uhm I usually go to columbus for concerts and that's it. Go to Bernie's Distillery. As for the most amazing record store in the world my best hoe's cousin owns Magnolia Thunderpussy. They have alot, and I mena alot, of really cool stuff in there. Polaris is great for shopping too.

Kaisermikeb - April 8, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
I hate polaris. It's just all that is wrong with the world.

Magnolia Thunderpussy is a pretty good record store, well, at least they let me down less often than the others.
Though, did you seriously just say "My best hoe"?! Who says that?!

Alex - April 8, 2007 11:47 PM (GMT)
Polaris is scary, and I only go there if I have no other choice. @_@

unseengbh - April 9, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
hahah my friend Lexi, also known as Commie. Best friend.

I have only wished and hoped we would share an erotic moment.

crknight29 - April 10, 2007 04:36 PM (GMT)
Tuttle Mall is an o.k. place to hang out. i live like 5 min. literally from there. not too big on the mall unless i need something at one of the stores.

rpb3000 - April 11, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
Tuttle Mall is one of my favorites in Columbus. It seems to have a lot less stuck-up atmosphere than Easton or Polaris.

Uematsufan - May 9, 2007 07:46 PM (GMT)
Sometimes I wished I lived in a larger city, talking about the umpteen malls you have down there and we have...one? Well one and a half I suppose

amyloveyou87 - May 9, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
I dont really know, its hard for me to meet people no matter where i go :ph43r: I moved hear from clevland too, well Parma.

thutt312 - May 10, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
Anime Palace is a good group up point in the city on weekends
and it's to far from polaris mall to be considered at the mall area :choco:
