I wish I had found out about this earlier, I've been trying to put together a Jrock cover band for the past few months.

why do i get the feeling very very very few bands will be there, me and my friends already got some thing cooking, AP prepare to get your preverbial(sp?) and amybe even litterally

Well not every band needs a damn guitar (highly over-rated instuments) and there are good bands out there with only two people in it!!!

Name one band that rocks and lacks a guitar.

Name one band besides the White Stripes that only has two people and rocks.

Now name a band people have actually heard of.

The Ohio State marching band if that counts. One of the bands at Ohayocon accomplished a lot with just violins.

Yeah, if either one of these bands would play at an anime con, that would be the all-time greatest con.

THANK YOU! And the Dresden Dolls are pretty indie, I don't blame you for never hearing of them. The like to keep their greatness a secret or else the media would try to make them their bitches. But they'd fail and NBC would get sued somehow. ^_^

I was going to say Steely Dan, but I don't think they necessarily "rock". :(

Eh, the Dresden Dolls are indie because they're not signed to a big label. But, anything else would hint at them being pop, I would think.

And I would like to add Matt & Kim to the list of two band members, sans guitar that are really good.

Pop does not equal rock.

Dresden Dolls do not rock. They may be decent at what they do, but making good music isn't the same thing as rocking.

bands that only have two members and rock? Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Buckethead (person, but whatever), Eat Babies?, Bubblegum Octopus, and a whole lot more. If I would have wrote some crap and been all like... Grind about how Inuyasha is terrible. The only lyric would be WINDSCAR

So back to the topic...I think i missed the actual battle of the bands...was it on the upper terrace of the lobby saturday night???

Yes the program was most amusing on the battle of the bands. I suppose nobody was interested in competeing.

The Battle of the Bands was completely epic. It rocked so much it couldn't even be found.
