Title: Wiis? PS3? 360?
Description: Next gen!

andy - January 10, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
Is there going to be any next gen gaming? I could bring a Wii, a few remotes, and some games. A DBZ Tenkaichi 2 tournament would be cool. Also Rayman Raving Rabbids is a fun party game.

sniper - January 11, 2007 03:32 PM (GMT)
That sounds pretty awesome. A Wii would be sweet. A 360 would be nice too. PS3 has Resistance, but I'm not sure what other good games it has.

Lothlin - January 11, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
PS3, ah, how I don't live your shitty game lineup (I actually saw about five PS3s just sitting in my walmart yesterday x.x. no one wants them!)

But yeah. Wii would be amazing, even just for Wii sports, and I've definately been wanting to play raving rabbits. What about Elebits, isn't that multiplayer as well?

smokie - January 11, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
The PS3 is an overpriced George Foreman grill. Worst part about that is it can't even fucking grill. Maybe had they used the slogan "Knock out the X-Box" they would sell more.

andy - January 11, 2007 06:51 PM (GMT)
biggrin.gif Wii bowling tourny would own. I only have 2 wiimotes though, So someone else should bring a few.

sniper - January 12, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
We definitely need a Wii.

its true, every time i go to wal-mart, target, kmart, anyplaces like that, they have at least 5 or 6, but no wii's, and they might have 1 or 2 360's
no one wants the ps3, too much hype about it, then wasnt as godd as people thought it was gonna be

smokie - April 5, 2007 01:16 PM (GMT)
The PS3's problem is it cost too much compared to its competitors, its a giant clunky hunk of shit, it has few good games(although it hasn't been out long so thats forgivable), Sony blames everything on the consumer.

Also far as I can tell they don't have any good games upcoming that won't be on the 360 as well. All they have that has excited people is some videos for Home which I think is a gay cross between Myspace and the Sims and a ripoff of Miis. Then they have a game called Little Big Planet which looks like fun and I think must have a sweet engine but seems to have no real objective and its not worth 500 or 600 dollars to play.

dizzy-ingrid - July 24, 2007 09:46 PM (GMT)
bull shit, it is the consumers fault, they all want graphics on the xbox over the ps2. this time sony pwns on graphics but because the 360 comes out first, drunk college students run to it and jump on the banwagon, and now the buyer remorse sets in with 2 of my 6 friends who own 360's breaking down. it has gears and that's it. maybe to more exlcusives next season and it's more or less an xbox in terms of hardware.

ps3 has the best loyalities STILL. konami, square, insomniac, should i go on.

but i ain't bring mine, can you believe how much they cost.

p.s. wii still kicks much ass, it's a good alternitve to the ps3 for it's price.

How can it be the consumers fault if they don't want to buy a mediocre product with only 2 good games as of yet? 360 might not pack much but still a lot more than the PS3 headstart or no headstart. And the old loyalties? Weakening all the time.

KaiserMikeB - July 25, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)
I seem to recall the last decent Squaresoft game being FF:CC, which you'll note is a GC/Gameboy game.

I can name 10 360 games I'm itching to play. I am not sure there is a single PS3 exclusive I give two shits about.

Only assholes buy a consol for the hardware. Sony somehow didn't realize that.

You noticed this aspect as well?

My friends hate that I'm basically (not limited to, but I'm generally) a Ninendo gamer. They're all into the 360, and PS3's, and I have all the Ninendo (but the Wii... ;~; ) systems.

KaiserMikeB - July 25, 2007 07:15 AM (GMT)
heh, and I bet you have a hell of a lot more fun than they do :P

Miccy - July 25, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)
I probably do. I love Nintendo, and I love my DS, and gamecube. =3

I'm not so much into first person shooters since GoldenEye, and I note a lof of my friends are obsessed with all types of them.

You saw me play Halo... hell... haha.

sesshouga - July 26, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
I'm more of a nintendo gamer too. I own all of the systems except for some variations of the gameboys....like the GB pocket and whatnot. I've never owned an XBox and I don't intend on it either. I do have a PS2 though which I love :3

And Micci, go get yourself a Wii. It's too much fun. Lately I've been hooked on my DS though XD which kicks PSP's ass any day.

dizzy-ingrid - July 26, 2007 02:03 AM (GMT)
okay mike, name ten. come on, xbox gamers brought the first xbox for hardware and halo. ps2 and 3 will most definatly have more and better games and the 360. i'm tired of halo this and gears that. most of the games good for the 360 are on the ps3, and i'd rather pay 7 bucks for max payne on the ps2 than buy the super duluxe edition release day over the top hyped halo 3 for 70.

ps2 alone pwns 360 and will continue to until 360 dies.

ps3 is gaining ground in the market every day, give it 4 or 5 months and it will be seen as better than 360 in the publics eye too.

KaiserMikeB - July 26, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
BLAZING FUCKING ANGELS!!!
Lost Planet
Crackdown
Rockstar Games: Tabletennis
Aegis Wing
GHII (so much better on x-box)
Bomberman Act-0
Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway
Hour of Victory
Viva Piniata

And that's just 10 off the top of my head. Oh, and on the subject of loyalties, I seem to recall FFXI getting ported to the 360. Enjoy!

dizzy-kun - July 26, 2007 08:33 AM (GMT)
metal gear solid 4
heavenly sword
genji
warhawk
pain
gt hd
ds gundam
stragnle hold lair
ratchet & clank
and devil may cry 4 since we're naming games on both system

and i'm sorry, i didn't know bomberman was cool again?

Lothlin - July 27, 2007 12:53 AM (GMT)
Overlord is pretty damn good too. I wish I could add more to the list, but alas, I don't own a 360 (I chose getting a Wii instead ;p)

Seriously though, one of the only games I'm looking forward to on the PS3, Assassin's Creed, isn't even a PS3 exclusive. Mind, I haven't looked recently, but the lineup for it looks pretty grim.

And plus, I've never run across a demo machine in store that wasn't locked up.

smokie - July 27, 2007 01:51 AM (GMT)
I have played the PS3 a bit. It was some street racing game set up at my local Sam's Club. The graphics didn't impress me that much. Besides its just a big clunky PS2 that looks like a lean mean fat reducing grilling machine. Even with the price drop I sill have no love for Sony.

I mean Hell, they build a grill and it doesn't even work that well. Now the 360 that fuckers not even meant to be a cooking product and you could fry an egg on one of those bad boys thats how hot they get. Make a grilled cheese sandwich while you play Halo 3. You can't beat that.

dizzy-kun - July 27, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
come on, ps3 just hasn't reached it's maturing point. 360 hasn't either but it looks like it won't for another 2 xmas season. if you hate me, fine, but plz just youtube the ps3 line up. continue to go with 360 but look at the games and see what it has in store. the 360 is good for shooters and that's about it. being an otaku, i say meh.

but the wii, not to far off in the future it'll be kickin some major ass as far as games go. a new mario game that really like n64, hells yeah!

KaiserMikeB - July 27, 2007 06:50 AM (GMT)
You think we're idiots? We're not so blinded by zealous fanboyism over any particular system that we're going to ignore all others for it. We're always looking at the new games, and if a quality product with fun games comes along we WILL buy it!

And no, we're not going to hate you for liking PS3.

dizzy-kun - July 27, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)
i've met trillions of people that aren't informed, i wouldn't surprize if you are one, you seem to hate the ps3 and won't admit any good things about. and many peole do hate sony fanboys, if you don't joygasm from vamp fighting raiden, i don't know what people want.

LittleNicoleLost - July 27, 2007 07:45 AM (GMT)
-snuggles Oblivion for the 360-

Blinded by rage I tell you! For shame.

I could never choooose..well maybe. Except, that's because Oblivion is only properly loved on the 360. Otherwise Wii is high up there for me :D

They all spark they're own delicious centers, however, I've always been down on Sony..Unless I've got a ninja game to release stress and needles in ^_^

KaiserMikeB - July 27, 2007 08:53 AM (GMT)
If you haven't noticed, the AP forums aren't quite the same as other places. When idiots join we either drive them away or beat them into intelligence. Elsewhere on the internet noobs and trolls are protected by the mods, here they are laughed at.
Is it good buisness? No. But anime punch isn't in the business of trying to be the biggest convention ever, or to make as much money as possible. Our goal is to be the most awesome convention ever, and to do that we need to hold onto the awesome people, and not worry what the scrubs have to say about it!

Urban_Yeti - July 27, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
Lololol <3 Mike-the-Conchair

"As an Otaku, meh I say! Meh!"

Soo good.

By the way any otaku owes it to themselves to play Blue Dragon, on the 360, next month.

I dislike the PS3. I dislike what Sony has become. I wish the Sony fanboys would wake up. I used to be one so I remember my old ways of hardcore PS2 support and X-Box bashing. Then my PS2 just crapped out on me. It wasn't very old! My Playstation orig I got in 99 still works! So does my Sega Genesis! I lost my faith in Sony products that day. I doubt I will buy a Sony game system ever again.

Then I met the X-Box. It was magical. The Box is a better system than the PS2 despite what any Sony fanboy says. I have played both extensively and I know which had the shorter load times on Star Wars Battlefront 2.

As for good things about the PS3 I have none to say. I mean the 360 isn't that great but Sony saw what the competition had and brought some weak shit to the table. What can it do that the 360 can't?

Yeah the true victor this go round seems to be the Wii. Good for Nintendo. As impressive as it is I'm probably going to get the 360 after I get my paycheck next week. The motion sensor is fun for a while but most people I talk to get tired of it after a while on some games. Its a good idea but it still has a ways to go.

dizzy-kun - July 28, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)
hmmm. okay. i figured out the best thing about the xbox 360. it's a small badly made pc without standard windows. the ps2 in the first shipment did shit out, just like the 360 are continuing to do. but if i can fix a ps2, most anyone that owns a computer can. just blow out the dust.
ps2 was and is way better than the xbox, the titles it has are just way better. the games that are good on xbox do kick alot of ass, but ps2 just brought so many more games of the same and better quality and sorry, sony did rush out a bad product before it had time to devolope just to get money. if you guys care more about a con than money, care more about kojima goodness than money. laugh now, i don't know if the ps3 is set to truely last 10 years but it will out last the 360 by much more than it's late start.
i'm a sony fanboy because sony has been good to me, and while microsoft only had a few games and nintendo fucked up so bad, sony was only thinking of what gamers wanted, and i would get something else if it was better.

LittleNicoleLost - July 28, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
Wow.

Just Wow.

I think my brain just died a little.

dizzy-kun - July 28, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Just doin my job. I wuv my ps3, feel free to hate it.

KaiserMikeB - July 28, 2007 05:43 AM (GMT)
no one is saying X-box is better than PS2.

Anyhow, if things get ugly, 360 will win. Sony has been loosing money every year for a while now. X-box is backed by Microsoft. Even if they lost 100 dollars on every sale they could keep it up long enough to starve Sony out of existance!

dizzy-ingrid - July 29, 2007 07:21 AM (GMT)
Doesn't mean that ps3 and sony aren't deserving, or dare i say better. Ps3 won't win this "war", Wii will and i can honestly say i don't mind that. With 250 bucks as it's starting price that's check and mate like it or not.

I am.

And dizzy. Sony was thinking of what gamers want? Sony was trying to line their pockets! So was Microsoft. So was Nintendo. They are still at it. They are all douchebags. I just feel Sony is the biggest douche.

dizzy-ingrid - July 29, 2007 09:30 PM (GMT)
That's right, Sony was thinking of what gamers want. Microsoft wants money more than the other by far. Peter Moore was at E3 saying "go buy a xbox 360 tonight." Sony wants money, sure, but they still didn't expect every gamer to go buy a ps3, just to keep playing ps2 games. I ain't gonna argue the ps2 vs. xbox, Sony won the 6th gen of games hands down.

KaiserMikeB - July 29, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
First, it was never a war for first. Everyone with half a brain knew that the Wii would dominate. Everyone who didn't was a fool.

The battle between Sony and Microsoft isn't for first, it's a war of attrition to see which can outlast the other before it dies. Both companies are losing money on every sale, and are expecting software sales to compensate. Of course, 360 has way more software, plus a guarenteed hit that hasn't even been released yet (Say what you will, Halo 3 will be a top seller).

dizzy-ingrid - July 29, 2007 11:12 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it will. I just WANT other people to see the fun in games less known. Halo is good, but it's not nearly as good as people act like it is, and the second halo suck in compairson to the first. If the next one sucks completly people'll still buy it. It's true, but that still sucks.

Oh, and just get rid of dizzy-kun, i ain't using it.

I actually remember them saying something about the price, but that people were going to buy it anyways, because of some egotistical somesuch or rather. Maybe I'm hallucinating again.

Either way, one post ought to sum up all that I think. Skip to the bottem to avoid any and all idiotic nonsense.

All in it for the money, duh. It's a market. And that's what a market is about. But I believe Microsoft did something genuinely nice with their recent new warrenty. Yes, the red ring of death was bad, but hey, if it happens, you've got 3 years now to get a new 360 for free. And if it happens again, another free one. It's Microsoft who's losing a billion dollars (though that's not much to them anyways) for this coverage. And I think that's the best I've seen from any of those companies do lately. I know Sony sure as fuck would never have given me a free PS2 if mine broke...again...

Plus, Microsoft's 360 has some really good games out for it. Dead Rising, Gears of War, Lost Planet, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and many I'm too lazy to remember. And, it's just going to be getting more. I believe the 360 will never die. Because A) it's got support from the game companies. B) It's got MICROSOFT. Microsoft ain't goin' anywhere, anytime soon. Nor the 360 with it.

On the PS3: It sucks right now. Yes, it does. For simple reasons, A) It's killing the company just to produce it, which sucks in it's own right. B) It DOESN'T have the support the 360 does, or hell, even the WII does. Now, the Wii's got shitty selection as it is. But, just like the Wii, give it time, and it will flourish. IF, Sony survives until this time next year, or a year and a half from now, I can safely say that it will be in the game for a long time still. Not many consoles begin with a stellar roster of great games right off the bat. But give it time, and yes, it will be worth the money (especially when the price drops even more). But, bottem line, unless you're a crazed fanboy; Avoid this piece of crap until it's at least outfitted correctly with what it needs. Because right now the only thing it's got, is Resistance: Fall of Man, and Vegas. Go get a 360 for less, then get some good games to play for awhile. Not only is Sony losing money, but it's ALSO losing support. Most of it's exclusives aren't exclusive anymore, or won't be for long. Jump ship while you can.

The Wii: Innovative, Gimmicky, whatever you wanna call it, it sells. And it sells well. It DID bring back a touch of novelty that the gaming industry needs. Even if it's something like a gimicky remote controller. It's selection is crap right now. But in time it will get great games, as Nintendo always does. Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Mario Galexies, and it's already got a couple of games for it, at least more then the PS3 does that's worth the money. This time, all I can hope for is that it get's the support it needs, unlike the Gamecube. Besides, at that price, it's worth the money, even with it's less then stellar game titles at the moment.

Bottem Line: Sony needs to wise up, or they'll take the path of the Dreamcast. Microsoft ain't goin' no where, and it's only getting stronger in it's support. And it's at least trying to fix it's mistakes, which is more then Sony has ever done. Nintendo will live, as always. If it gets that support, then it will be a great console. If not, a GameCube repeat at the worst, and at best a mediocre console, that just didn't have what it needed. The fans will still enjoy it though. And, the non-fans are eating it up as it is, so it'll always have THAT support.

Personally, the 360 is nice. I don't give a shit about over-rated crap like Halo. While it's good, it's not as good as people say. Same with Final Fantasy. And at heart, I'm a Nintendo fan. Their virtual console, while doesn't make up for lack of real selection, is a very nice touch, and I can play some of the best games of all time, that I missed out on. Not to mention, Super Smash Bros. I'll be all over the Wii like a...something sticky or some crap, once I get that.

Aaaand *lazies*

KaiserMikeB - July 30, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
You know, for a system that never really had that many games, my gamecube gets way more playtime than my PS2 or my Xbox.

Drifter - July 30, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
Ya know, I only had the Gamecube for years. And I still, in all that time, managed to find tons of games to enjoy. It had some support, sure, but that was enough for me apparently. But it didn't last as a console. Personally, I loved my GC. Many, many hours of playage. The PS2 eventually just had a better selection so I got another one not long ago. But I never cared about the X-Box or it's games. Nothing that interested me that much.

I'm just playing my PS2 alot since I''ve got like...4 or 5 years to make up.

dizzy-ingrid - July 30, 2007 08:00 AM (GMT)
Drifter, that was alot. Anyway, most of what you said is right, but the ps3 doesn't have the problem of messing up in the first place the 360. To me, the 360 exculsives ain't worth it, and Sony ain't the only ones losing exculsives. The only exculsive Sony really lost that hurt them was Devil May Cry. But i doubt drunk 360 using college students will buy it. We still get almost everything they get and it's just build better, unlike the 360 that was rushed out to get bucks.(Much like the Dreamcast only unhonest intension) At the core, Sony's only problem is a lack of support from mindless fanboys. So i'll do my best.

I'm still happy your playing your ps2, so many great games in that selection.
